Man ! you are simply awsome ... love how musical your compositions are, never compromising the groove in the name of technique (some shredders could learn a thing or two from you)
I enjoy every second of every video/music you do. Dat badass playing style, clean notes that you seem to never miss and musicality of songs that are exercises in shredding at the same time can't be beaten. And I love your teaching videos, they are the best in existence.
Hands down one of the best shredders on the planet! Andy James takes playing the instrument to a whole new level. His technique and vibrato is unlike anything I've ever heard. This is a Andy at his very best, mixing arpeggios with melodic runs it's just pure genius..
Man!!...I love the sound of a guitar but seeing how it's actually done to deliver the quality of sound that we want to hear...pure talent, years of practice...even himself is still learning...this man among others are a God send...this man is really good at what he does...
This song proves Andy doesn't have to shred through an entire song and still make it so interesting that it grabs your attention from the start and doesn't let go. You can't teach that, you have to have the golden ear to write like this. Definitely a welcome inspiration when one was lacking.
im jealous you knew this song since 7 years ago xD, i just found this.. also when he started the tapping arpeggios i smiled, then he sped it up and ohh- the heavens! ahahahhaha
Don't be overwhelmed by him. Use him as a model to shoot for. One step at a time we can get close. Break it down: scales with fast alternate picking (can do), arpeggios (can do), finger tapping (can do), legato slurs (can do), perfect string bending (listen carefully, develop the ear), great tone (good equipment), great guitar, love, dedication, hours and hours of devotion; step by step, one step at a time. move a step closer each time you practice. It is there for the asking. God Bless.
That one bend in the refrain.. man thats so fuckin awesome. for example 1:36 .. andy is one of the guitarists who doesnt really try to get all his skills in every part, he work with harmony and the real fact of music. i love it, nobody can deny putting andy james to the top of guitarists, next to the old godfathers and the "newcomers" like Synyster Gates. I love his music, it opens me more than anything else.
Nismo Z sorry but synyster gates is not a bad guitar player....far from that, if you really think that he's trash, to me that just mean that you hate him for some weird reason...please dont be a hater...
Gutao Abreu that's how the mindset of the troll works. There is no disagreement in style preference on the Internet. To a troll, everyone they disagree with is stupid and everything they don't like is also stupid and lacks value. They may not think that, but they don't realize that's pretty much what they are saying
Gutao Abreu There's no denying he's good...skill wise. Feeling? Definitely on a waiting list for that. He;s got potential, but from what I've heard of him playing, it's mostly speedy sweeping and alt-picking runs followed by harmonies and bending, all some sort of spooky scale. That's just from what I've heard. I'm more than willing to give him more of a listen if you point me in the direction of some more melodic and graceful stuff he plays.
Amazing writing, amazing playing..all that without a massive pedal board...Andy James is one of the absolute best... I never listen to instrumentals..but the stuff this guy writes...are an easy listen...
20 years of guitar playing off and on. Maybe used a neck pickup a handful of times. Andy changed my mind. This was one of the 1st songs I heard by him and have not been able to stop listening.
For me I'm not a massive shredder fan as I have always been a less is more guy but Andy James does an amazing job and shows how to shred Melodically, need more shredders like him in my honest opinion
I never get tired of listening to this. Such a wonderful composition. When I pass on , the one thing I'll miss the most from my time here is the music.
I would have loved to have heard that intro riff repeated at the end to complete the circle. Some of the melodies are transcendent! Excellent! I love this!
Love Andy's phrasing, melodic sensibility, feel, and ability to melt your face off with blinding fast runs. Everything you could ask for in a players arsenal. Top notch!!!
mrmaybe I would never dislike (meaning pressing the dislike button) anyones music because of that reason. They put a lot of hard work and passion in it why would I dislike.
Andy you are the best guitar player with such feeling when you play and so melodic. You make me love guitar and make me learn hard everyday. Thx for that
His focus on melody in this song is so good, I really dig this one. I listened it 4 times in a row. Catchy melody spiced up with cool technical licks is always a win.
While i love Andy's new stuff. I still love his tone with the 57-66 set. This song got me into his stuff. The raw heavy ass intro mixed with slow melodic rest. Really showcases the versatility.
What the fuck man, it's Metal. You don't have to apologize, if we can't say fuck anymore in any form we are doomed xD.. Nevertheless this was fucking awesome! \m/
I've always watched Andy James videos and learned from his lessons but the past 6 months I haven't paid much attention to his new songs. I just have to say that he is seriously stepping his game up and that his overall sound is getting better, not so abstract as it used to be although it still sounded great. Doin it up my man, keep at it
Why do people always say “this person has talent”. Talent, anybody could have that for their perspective activity, skill, that is what Andy James has. I’m more than sure Andy has talent, but when talent is nurtured, it becomes skill. And Andy James certainly has some mad man skills
I learned basically the exact tap lick at 3:19 from reb beach a few months back! felt so good to hear something ive played utilized by a guy of andy's caliber! You ROCK!!
You are my biggest influence. I discovered you while i was learning guitar for almost 1 year now. You showed me a way of music I couldn't see by my own eyes. Now I'm trying to improve my skills, but I am already composing and soloing on backing track, I even did on one of your video. Keep it up Andy, and thanks for showing me the way I could be happy with music. Thank you very much.
God he's one of my top five guitarists...One day i'll take everything he's taught me along with what ive got from guys like Dime and Randy. I will bury him in a guitar battle. Calling you out Andy James... In about 10 years...but then you'll be 10 years better too... Awesome song man
I love players who CAN play 1000mph that realize sometimes less is more and that with a minimalist approach sometimes just a few well placed notes or chords can bring on the chills.
Anti Kyle To be fair though, I don't think "feeling" is the main focus on this type of instrumental music, it seems more like a composition in the same way Beethoven, Mozart and Bach made compositions, as is the same with guys like Jeff Loomis and Keith Merrow you know?
Yea absolutely. And honestly I guess it depends on the day, sometimes I prefer Jeff's, other times Andy's. Jeff loomis has me captivated with his Conquering Dystopia album. Him, Keith Merrow, Alex Webster, and Rudinger from The Faceless. stunning mix of players.
exactly. it is a matter of taste but jeff only shreds no feeling and melodic. andy has much more feelings on strings. i dont know if it is a right comparison or not, he is hard version of JS.
James Haggart Yea,there is a lot of guitar playstyles. Andy tone is sure provided by his fingers, while players like Andy Timmons have wonderfull tone by equipament ( and skills lol ).
I really didn't get that feel from it. I thought the use of scales and modes complimented each other. I like mathematic stuff as much as the next guy but, sometimes you just want some 4/4 groove. This song kills it.
De todos los guitarristas que vienen a EMG TV Andy es el mejor y con un solo pedal. Andy is the beast, he win a everybody with just one pedal, he has a good feeling.
Had fun doing this! :)
Everybody would have Fun with these Playing-Abilities :) :B
Andy this is killer man,as always.
Great song! It would sound really cool with some orchestral parts during the melodies.
Man ! you are simply awsome ... love how musical your compositions are, never compromising the groove in the name of technique (some shredders could learn a thing or two from you)
I enjoy every second of every video/music you do. Dat badass playing style, clean notes that you seem to never miss and musicality of songs that are exercises in shredding at the same time can't be beaten. And I love your teaching videos, they are the best in existence.
So many yrs later and this is STILL my favorite song ever... A testament to what kind of music is timeless
Being technical and melodic is what it is supposed to be....a true virtuoso
Andy James NEVER disappoints. I'm always impressed by his work. Emotional, melodic, and heavy.
😊
the harmony during the chorus is out of this world
Isn't it an octave? It's a cool melody though :)
What I love most, is not even the technical aspects of his playing, it's the fact that he puts so much emotion into his music. Respectable.
That hook in the chorus is so fucking catchy.... Hes such a phenomenal writer and player

It’s been a few years since I last listened to this excellent song! Now, in 2024 I’m listening to it again!
April 2020 anyone enjoying this ? 🤘
May 2020 checking in, still as strong as ever, looks like the half life of this performance will outlast covid!

April 2021 🤘
I never get bored of this song , april 2021 check✔️
This song proves Andy doesn't have to shred through an entire song and still make it so interesting that it grabs your attention from the start and doesn't let go. You can't teach that, you have to have the golden ear to write like this. Definitely a welcome inspiration when one was lacking.
That finger-tapping arpeggio gets me every time, with the driving riff in the background, makes me fucking happy.
im jealous you knew this song since 7 years ago xD, i just found this..
also when he started the tapping arpeggios i smiled, then he sped it up and ohh- the heavens! ahahahhaha

This is fucking magnificent.
Indeed it is , Andy is a fucking beast.. It's amazing to see such melodic runs inter wine with arpeggios, it's brilliant.
The bends are the hardest ! Speed is practice, getting the perfect note is talent !
His balance between melody and metal is astonishing. One of the many reason that I really admire him.
That one bend in the refrain.. man thats so fuckin awesome. for example 1:36 ..

you can be damn sure andy is one of the top players out there!
synyster gates? lol he is trash. There is 1,000 people in a list in front of him.
Nismo Z sorry but synyster gates is not a bad guitar player....far from that, if you really think that he's trash, to me that just mean that you hate him for some weird reason...please dont be a hater...

That's a brilliant way to put it !!
listen to marty friedman..
I don't like him :/
Ok It's ok
Who doesn't like Marty Friedman! LOL There are so many great players these days...
I can really feel the soul behind this track! Great Work Andy!
I've been playing for close to feckin 17 years and I still will never be as good as the James man....bloody hero!
i am a beginner guitarist, discovering and practicing and listening to Andy James has made a huge impact in my life.
This has been one of my favorites since I heard it. I got the chance to pass it on to a brother and it changed him too. 🍻 Andy!!
20 years of guitar playing off and on. Maybe used a neck pickup a handful of times. Andy changed my mind. This was one of the 1st songs I heard by him and have not been able to stop listening.
That intro is friggen heavy!!! Awesome song!
I agree. The heavy riff with the synth backing is badass.
I knew that I would find people that also agree that the intro is the most wicked part of this song!
Andres Nieto the heavy riff was really awesome, he dropped it to Am ..
This has always been one of my fav AJ masterpieces! Brilliant!
For me I'm not a massive shredder fan as I have always been a less is more guy but Andy James does an amazing job and shows how to shred Melodically, need more shredders like him in my honest opinion

People thought the thumbs down button is to download this audio ! come on you can not dislike this masterpiece
As much as I agree with you regarding how great this is, you've got to realize that people have different tastes.
+mrmaybe yea buddy I get the point , cheers :)
mrmaybe I would never dislike (meaning pressing the dislike button) anyones music because of that reason. They put a lot of hard work and passion in it why would I dislike.
I wouldn't either. Hating anything in life isn't worth it and just counter-productive.
Hats off the best song in this channel
All of his melodies are so freeking unique and sound amazing! :D
I had fun listening to it ! Thanx !
Andy you are the best guitar player with such feeling when you play and so melodic. You make me love guitar and make me learn hard everyday. Thx for that

They packed a lot of punch
This's breathtaking for every time when I hear Andy James playing! Waow! YAAAY
This song is so fu**** amazing. Sorry for that kind of vocabulary but I cant explain in other words how I like it.
What the fuck man, it's Metal. You don't have to apologize, if we can't say fuck anymore in any form we are doomed xD.. Nevertheless this was fucking awesome! \m/

Doin it up my man, keep at it
Wow!! What a awesome composition, i rarely see a kind of instrumental composition good like this...Very good.. And this refrain... Jesus..Very nice
Haven’t heard this song in over 4 years. So glad I found it again.
That was amazing. I really liked his phrasing. Wish I could play a crumb of this like he does.
Why do people always say “this person has talent”. Talent, anybody could have that for their perspective activity, skill, that is what Andy James has. I’m more than sure Andy has talent, but when talent is nurtured, it becomes skill. And Andy James certainly has some mad man skills
This is the level I hope to achieve one day.
I met Andy the other day at San Antonio show. One of the coolest, most intelligent guys you'll ever meet!
Beautiful string skipping arpeggios that really sing. 10/10!
I learned basically the exact tap lick at 3:19 from reb beach a few months back! felt so good to hear something ive played utilized by a guy of andy's caliber! You ROCK!!

So clean,so much melody and speed, could listen to this dude for days. So inspiring!!
INCREDIBLE
He is the man, Andy you are my favourite guitar player now
This is the best guitar instrumental track!
Andy James - the best guitarist!
I don't get blown away easily and I've seen his work before,, but this track is just amazing!!!! Great work you just raised the bar for the guitar.
they call him the janitor of shredding cus hes so clean....thank you, thank you
REALLY JACK,? FUCKIN RIGHT!
Wore the replay button out today on this song... AMAZING!!!
Masterpiece 👍
Legend of guitar
It's always awesome to see Ragnar Lothbrok playing guitar
The intro is Legendary
Love this composition, got everything I love, tons of melody & crunching guitar all in one piece, this simply AWESOMENESS!!!!!
God he's one of my top five guitarists...One day i'll take everything he's taught me along with what ive got from guys like Dime and Randy. I will bury him in a guitar battle. Calling you out Andy James... In about 10 years...but then you'll be 10 years better too... Awesome song man
When I pass, I wish this was playing as my soul was leaving my body. That would be a nice way to check out.
Great playing , awesome, that scales with feel
Everytime I listen to your music it releases my soul thank you James. Your a gift from God a warrior.
I love players who CAN play 1000mph that realize sometimes less is more and that with a minimalist approach sometimes just a few well placed notes or chords can bring on the chills.
Had to come here to watch this after wasting 5 minutes on the new Commander in Chief video. All has been restored
+ShredMaster2010 I did the same lol
+ShredMaster2010 me too lol
Ahaha same dude
She is garbage
Andy, you make the most melodic music ever! I listen to this everyday. Keeps me going in life.
Simplesmente incrível.
EMG!! Thank you for all these wonderful performances by artists WE GUITARISTS care about! Great job! Andy is such an awesome musician!
Such a beautiful and powerful song! \m/
Ohw.. Andy.. You're perception of music is fabulous. I love your feeling..
I want to see more artists like this !
Great feeling!
Still can't understand why people hate this guy?
Jealousy perhaps?
Anti Kyle Who hates? u kidding me? god damm....
Lucas Oyama looking at the comments on his videos people talk a lot of shit about this guy. Look for yourself.
Anti Kyle god damm these people need to do a QI teste before using internet hahaha
Anti Kyle To be fair though, I don't think "feeling" is the main focus on this type of instrumental music, it seems more like a composition in the same way Beethoven, Mozart and Bach made compositions, as is the same with guys like Jeff Loomis and Keith Merrow you know?
Perfect from start to finish
I cannot understand how can anyone dislike it !
AWESOME !!!!!!!!
Beautiful expression and tone. Very musical. Lots of deep emotions. That is music. That is life.
Amo este tipo, es increíble escucharlo.
I never get tired of listening to this song!!
I really love his sound.. Granted Jeff Loomis can shred, but I actually prefer Andy's styling.
Totally. Andy's taste is much better than Jeff's. Both great players, though.
Mike Scanlan I actually like Loomis better than Andy but it's personal taste, they're both phenomenal shredders
Gurler Turker People need to stop with the "Feeling" thing. Just because its not slower and melodic does not mean it lacks feeling.
this is the fucking greatest guitar solo ever..well done mate
I'll be playing this on my school talent show this weekend .. Wish me luck !
Worthless Bastard can't wait to see a video!:)
Yes you can ...
so how was it? and do you wanna share the tabs? ;)
Andy I know there's missing words here.
They must be equally as beautiful.
This song/his playing has a Marco Sfogli/John Petrucci vibe to me.
I can see that in some passages.
Instrumedley This song has a Andy James vibe to me.
just ridiculous how beautifull this sound...
awesome
Man! I didn't know they made robotics this advanced...
Dude your technical skills are silly amazing.
I keep listening to this over and over.
How the fuck can this guy play so clean?
Yann Leroux Nope. Only 1) is possible =D jkjk yeah, it might be helping!
Mostly just because he is awesome... The fretwraps placed on the nut like that is only contributing like 1% of the cleanness. lol
Nah. Just 1) Practice. A lot of fucking practice ;)
Hard working.
Iker Quiroz Practice.. correct practice..
I love how those melodic lines almost sound like someone singing, simply beautiful. The shredding doesn't hurt either lol.
Hi Andy, I'm your pinky finger, nice to meet you....
It's amazing how you combine so touching melodys with insane shred. great track :)
Andy kit seens so small, and still hes tone is so amazing.
Tone is mostly in the fingers and play style in my opinion ;) Some people spend penny after penny and don't sound any better no matter what the rig.
James Haggart Yea,there is a lot of guitar playstyles.
Andy tone is sure provided by his fingers, while players like Andy Timmons have wonderfull tone by equipament ( and skills lol ).
How are all these load sounds and music so calming ? it soothes my soul. thanks a lot man
it would be so awesome if my girlfriend was a beautiful as this song.
Haha that's so fucked up.
your girlfriend must be ugly as fuck then because this song is generic at best
N-word Jim Well, that was cruel.
I really didn't get that feel from it. I thought the use of scales and modes complimented each other. I like mathematic stuff as much as the next guy but, sometimes you just want some 4/4 groove. This song kills it.
Also, the first four notes of the hook/chorus of the song that repeat twice, they sound just like the chorus from Love Bites by Def Leppard.
It goes to show that melodic solos always rock. Keep it up Andy!!!
2019 anyone watching this ?
yes
Yes
🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
2020, during my quarantine because of Covid-19.
No
De todos los guitarristas que vienen a EMG TV Andy es el mejor y con un solo pedal. Andy is the beast, he win a everybody with just one pedal, he has a good feeling.
Andy is God! Amazing!
wow wow, this solo is magnific, perfect music of andy james fantastic
