- Freeze drying dill pickle chips. We hear it’s all the rave so we wanted to try it out. Pleasantly surprised. We love this harvest, right freeze dryer in the mini things we can do and preserve. Among our favorite things are rotisserie chicken, eggs, herbs And any vegetable that you want to make up a soup mix with.
Harvest Right is having a sale right now with $500 off or up to $500 off

Girl, you had me cracking UP..😂 I'm thinking Greg and Pop better hit the kitchen before Jill taste-tests the entire batch..🤣 What a FUN video! Keep them coming. I might not have one, yet..But, I can learn while I wait.
Wonderful idea with your pickles! I have been freezing blueberries this week. Praise the Lord, our blueberry bushes are producing a bumper crop this year! 🫐
I sure wished I could grow BB!
My grandson adores dill slices, hubby loves the half sours, and I just like the powder on popcorn and other things!
I think I’ll try pattering them up and sprinkling them in my chicken salad or my tuna salad what do you think?
Wow kid that was interesting.
Hey Jill Rochelle told me about the freeze dried pickles, what a great idea. We really need to get a Harvest Right. We should be in town Sat around noon. God Bless. Mike
Make a dill pickle pizza with a white sauce like ranch and dill. Add a pepper jack cheese. YUM!
That actually sounds kinda good! I will have to try it! Thanks!
Thank you for the idea. I'll try this.
Good morning Jill! I am babysitting my grandchildren today and they have already helped water our garden and pick some cherry tomatoes that have matured. So nice to have fresh cherry tomatoes for salads or just to snack on! Pickle chips sound amazing! I so very much want the HR Freeze dryer I am still trying to talk my husband in it.
Wonderful!
Have to try this! Thank You!
Wow!!! Those dried pickles look yummy 😋 and what a great idea to save the pickle juice.. I know that the summer heat brings about cramping for some folks. God bless you and keep up the great work Jill 🙏🏻 ❤
God bless you sister ❤️❤️❤️
A friend is sharing her freeze dryer with me and I already bought dill pickles. Can't wait to try.
Playing catchup on the 365 challenge this week. Made 6 quarts peach pie filling, 4 pints pole beans and started fermenting 12 pounds of cabbage. My friend freeze dried her kraut. I might try that too.
Thanks Jill.
Remember ya'll to Pray, Plan, Prep
❤️! 10 quarts of green beans and 5 pints salsa

Oh, dried pickle chips sound amazing!!
Yummy what a fun idea!
Back from Houston teaching my 11 and 15 yr daughters pipe welding, so time to do the next thing.
Done bags of slices cheeses.
Hmmm, this is intresting! Freeze dryer sitting doing nothing, so........
Planning on a whole lamb sometime.
Hi Jill this is a great idea. Mike and I are thinking about getting a freeze dryer. We are going to stop by the 17th to say hi then we are headed to Tyler. Staying at a B&B for the weekend. Blessing to you, Rochelle
I’m excited to see you both
I hadn’t tried FD pickles yet. I have FD near 200# of onions from the garden, flakes are great
Yay!!!
I’m gonna have to get some and throw them in our freeze dryer. Thanks for the idea!
❤️❤️❤️
Great idea! I am going to do this with dill and homestyle. Love your posts and look forward to them, especially when you mention your Faith in your daily life. In my experience, pickled items do not have a shelf life over one year if High Fructose Corn Syrup is used as the sweetener. It chemically breaks down the cellular integrity of the fruit and changes the texture. The cans of pickled beets I purchased from Walllyworld were almost mush after 11 months. That was the day I threw out every HFCS item in the house and pantry.
Oh no!!! I wish you were closer. I’ve got some pickled beets that I’m knock your socks off. Thank you so much for watching us in your encouragement.
Oh I would even snack on those on my carnivore way of eating. I would use them to scoop my sardines and eggs. Or just eat as chips. ❤
Ohhh yum
They look great 😊
what a great idea! ;) thanks!
Got my new freeze dryer in yesterday and looking forward to trying a few things before we get really serious!
Super excited for you, Debra I can’t wait to hear what you do
Makes me wish I had a Freeze Dryer! Grind some up to powder form and sprinkle on stuff. Popcorn??
Yes!!!!
Those pickle chips look good. I never would have thought about that. I wonder if sliced pickled beets would be as good. Have you tried those?
No Pat but we’re thinking about it
@@ntxg If you try it let me know how it works. We love sliced pickle beets. 😄
reconstituted pickles with more pickle juice? double pickles? doubickles?
Now I'm doing my wife's homemade bread& butter pickles and pickled green maters
Yum!
Did you eat that whole tray of freeze-dried pickles? Been doing the same with cucumber slices. Soak them in vinegar and sprinkle with dill and salt. Hard to get the salt to stick, but still yummy! Blessings
Lol naw! It was tempting though, and I’m gonna try your thing Terri! That sounds really good. I hope you’re doing well. Love you girl.
Wish I had a freeze dryer
I do too 😢
It's worth it
Apparently picked beets are amazing
What type of freeze dryer you use? Also, greetings from Brazil!
Harvest Right XL❤️❤️❤️
@@ntxg Thank you!
Would love a freezer dryer but being on disability Im going with a dehydrator. Would it be possible to do them with that?
Oh yes Regina!
How do you measure the freeze dried eggs when using for cakes etc?
2.5 tablespoons of water and egg makes one egg
@@ntxg Thank you. A friend freeze dried 6 dozen eggs for me but didn't tell me how much for one egg. Love watching you.
At what temp does you use. I did some for 48 hour and they are chewy
We use the auto settings so I can’t tell you what the temperature was
What seetings did you use cause mine only goes up to 24 hours dry time ?how do you put more on
Hi Bob, you can customize your settings, but Greg does that if we need to. Be sure you have your updates also on your machine.
Were are they salty?? I tried some and they were very salty!
Yes but I like salty!!❤️
What setting did you put your freeze dryer on?
We use the automatic
Is your machine safe still after doing pickles?
Oh yes gal!
I’ve heard that the vinegar does not carry through the FD process
I rinse mine as they are super salty
I want it so bad
I played with this before. You know what the play is? pulverize them into a powder and mix it wwith some flour, use that for fried chicken
Ohhhh yum!!!
Settings total time? Thank you
We used auto. ❤️
What were your setting please
It’s on auto
I tried freeze drying pickles once, they were WAY to strong flavor, it wasn't pleasant
Hi Wayne , I was expecting a strong flavor as well, but these were not too bad and we’re quite yummy. I love Best Made pickles but I didn’t use them on this. Maybe that was it your variety
@@ntxg Could be. The ones I tried were homemade canned whole pickles that I canned. I opened them sliced them up and freeze dried them. The vinegar was overpowering.
What settings and time?
It was automatic Bobby and it didn’t take very long 24 hours?
Put em in a sladad Spinner.. To. Get. Excess. Liquid off. First?
Great idea
No recipe?
Just dill pickles!
Settings on the freeze dryer?
