    SniperSurkov: Could be. I don't know when either song was written, so you could be right. On the other hand that partucular melody (Po Shumama I Gorama) sounds like it might have folk song origins common to many Slavic populations. Great march, anyhow.

      There was a Catholic parade scene in the second movie that had very similar music, I think that was it, but I'm not sure if it was the same as this video's march.

    Have you ever actually fired a rifle? The most common caliber of the era is 7.62x54mmR. And I've fired quite a few of those and they're not that bad of a kick.
    Besides you can fire a .50 cal standing if you do it right.( I don't suggest it though)
    So I don't think it would have twisted his shoulder.

    • @ravvaktheannihilator69
      @ravvaktheannihilator69 8 років тому +5

      understand this is 4 years old BUT, there really was no "most common" caliber of bullet from the pre WW1 era. Each country used a different cartridge, and different weapons. The most common cartridge would be the cartridge that was in use via the most countries, which would probably be .303 British if anything.

      All those songs are based on the part of this song, many "soviet" songs were really just imperial russian songs with different lyrics.

      Don't feel bad if you still have bitter feelings after all these years, when Theodore Roosevelt told you both to play nice, Russia said no by placing sanctions on the Aleutian Islands thus giving him the excuse he needed to give Japan shipments of Gatling, Maxim, Colt, and Hotchkiss brand early machine guns. The massacres of cossack charges and Native Siberian allies in the north were like shooting fish in a barrel and disgusted the honor-driven commanders on both sides to the point of a truce.

    • @robertcorbell1006
      @robertcorbell1006 7 років тому

      +Chris Shen The visual propaganda is much better. To dishearten the Russians, the Japanese learned of how homophobic they've traditionally been and would secretly sneak into Russian camps and plant at night "shunga" (Japanese woodcut-printed erotica) pictures of the emperor or one of their generals raping the tsar. They'd also write Shinto curses on their tents along with the pictures.
