"You want to be loved because you do not love." My insight into this in my life so far until something changed tremendously for me was this. Taking your "because you don't love" translates for me as "Because you don't have love in your self you seek love outside, which is completely futile." I still don't know what love is or I am not certain about it, but I think it has a lot to do with accepting what is and that it has nothing to do with dependency (?).

Love is total acceptance, no expectations and dependency. Love is giving not taking.. what love is not- sexual relationship, dependency, attachment, jealousy, hatred, expectations, and judgement. It's my personal experience.
it is so deeply ingrained in us - we answer a question without really even thinking it over for EVEN TWO SECONDS. questions make us automatically seek the safety of the known.
Probably this has a lot to do with our education. For more than ten years and 8 hours per day, we sit in a stuffy room and are trained to answer questions, like pets are trained to perform tricks. The void of an unanswered question is unbearable, intolerable, even unthinkable in a class room. The greatest shame during our school career is not to have a hard on in the shower room but to be asked a question directly by the teacher and not to know the answer right away, to have to suffer your own silence. This is also true during an exam, it's the original sin of all teaching and exam situations. On the other hand, almost as a total mockery and contempt for learning, we are told that there are no stupid questions! So, total freedom to ask or be asked anything we want, to interrogate others and constantly be interrogate by the agents of fate, at the same time complete disregard of our need for contemplation. That's why most school systems and consequently our political systems too are so deeply flawed. And that's why our world has become one giant, hysterical chatter box.
“You’re answering…throwing out words…” And therein lies the trouble. We’re so uncomfortable sitting with ourselves and reflecting that we have to quickly fill the space with noise. The more “intelligently” we answer a question that can’t fully be answered with words, the safer our ego feels: validated by our own hype while avoiding the deep inner work that needs to be done.
Such a precious soul. His feeling of helplessness, almost to pain, at not being able to spark the questioning within individuals is palpable. the layman who has never DARED to ask why he does what he does, only caring to toe the line to not become a social outcast finds comfort in theories and default answers, not their fault either.
All he wants to say is that ... remove all that you don't love and at the end what remains is love ....and ironically in the end you will find nothing you truly love (excepting nothing in return).... All you will remain with is your sheer existence which is pure love.

The phrase "love ur dog" itself is incorrect. Love is not an action. Love is an experience that happens when mind becomes absolutely silent without any action (seeing or hearing or smelling or tasting or touching or thinking). NO?
No such thing as altruism; we do what we do because we want to; we're all selfish, it is of course possible to be compassionate & loving within that (selfish) framework but don't muddle up kindness etc with the word altruistic.
Why don’t I have compassion? I’ve been identified with somethink that I’m not for most of my life, I had been totally hypnotized most of the time by thought thinking it was me and being lead astray by it. I’m sick, or at least the part of me being divided-that is-identified. I’m starting to see what I am not but it’s easy to forget. These thought provoking talks help serve as a reminder to inquire and not to forget And fall back into mechanical patterns of behavior and identifications. I’m working to cultivate compassion Within areas of my limited but growing understanding. I don’t want to stay the same, this work is very helpful. The very fact that we believe there is a self (yourself) to love is the reason we are unable to love. To love means two. Are there two of you? J.K spent 50 years talking of this one thing over and over. The observer is the observed. There are no two. There is just one unity.
You can lose anything you're attached to . You cannot love what you can lose, because the fear of loss will prevent love. So the only way to love is to lose yourself entirely once and for all.

For the past five years I was very very ill. This is all new to me. I always give compassion. I'm full of love. I'm so appreciated to be alive. I love my family friends unconditionally.There my world. I love my animals. I love the people I feel from. Its a beautiful feeling.
I loved my crush in school regardless how he looked, and was not my type but I loved him because I accepted him fully, he rejected me ,because of his studies and now we are friends and I realised a lot during that phase. Not only acceptance, but being free from expectations and them giving back to you is the biggest lesson I learned.

love to me is what i feel when i make myself aware to the fact that this moment that we are able to experience was so beautifully given to us FOR FREE because there is a beautiful balance that has allowed for us to experience from the perspective of a human being, such a sophisticated complex creature that just gets more interesting and amazing the more you look into it… that perfect balance that allows for us to experience this moment includes every aspect of the entire universe we live in. A meteor could strike at any moment and stop us from experiencing this moment, but for some miraculous reason it doesnt and isnt that just beautiful… another example, if my parents had not have had sex in a specific moment in time then i would not exist and there are an infinite points of time which would have led to a different being existing but it so miraculously happened to be the exact time that allowed for my experience of a moment in time. The environment on this Earth… absolutely everything in the universe is in a certain balance which is preserving our life allowing us to experience this moment. After all that, the beauty of it all is tied together by death… and so every moment that we are blessed with is just so amazingly beautiful regardless of whether you can see it or not.

JK has a reason to be impatient when his audience start answering the moment he raises a question. Answers to his questions can be found only after a prolonged enquiry, and that too in silence. Our vocabulary is limited to articulate answers to those questons. Interestingly, if we serious in our inquiry, we automatically fall silent. Words abound when we pretend and not earnest in our quest. It is not a commentary about anybody. Just an observation based on my own chequred trajectory.

Sorry but why you said,i loved my mom? I am sorry if she is not alive anymore,but love does not stop when some person pass away. He does not want to insult anyone,he just wants to say that many people do not feel unconditional love,they always expecting something in return.
