I lived in Solvang when I was around 12 yo. I LOVED that town. Dad got transferred a lot but the people in Solvang and Santa Ynez were the nicest people I've ever gotten to have as neighbors. I learned to horse back ride there and they would have little parades through the town. Select kids would hold the Solvang sign in the parade - I was the V since I was the tallest girl lol, plus kind of Danish looking with red hair. Learned to crochet there too made millions of those funky 1970 crochet vests and ponchos. Of course everyone wore clogs there at least in '73. Used to be able to horseback ride at Cachuma lake . the people that owned the Cachuma Lake boarding stable back in '73 would let me ride by myself which was amazing. They do not let people do that anymore. I would go through water and up steep hills by myself. Funny that the horse I road, Bobby looks just like one of my current horses. Best experience of my life and I ended up being a horse rescuer with as many as 6 horses. I am so grateful they let me do that.

Hood River was a big attraction for fruit when I was a girl in the 1960s. It became internationally famous when it was identified as a wind surfing destination, and lost some of its charm. It is still wonderful. If you go, take the Hood River train through fruit country. It’s magical. I took my aunt when she was 92, and we missed the return train! There are no Ubers or taxis there! The docent of the museum and his grand son gave us a ride back to Hood River! My aunt was talking about our adventure for months.

@@angelinahunter182 When I was still in California and she was still in Oregon, I visited my aunt a couple times a year. We did a trip to Seaside one year. Our hotel had a balcony, and she LOVED sitting on it to watch people on the beach. Her dementia is rather advanced now, but I wish I was out there to have another adventure with her. One of my other childhood friends remarried at 89. His lovely wife passed when my mother did. I know he never stops missing her, but he's built a wonderful life with the new lady, and she is wonderful to him. They did three trips last year, including a CRUISE. He is 93 now, and hasn't dropped a step. Works in his yard every day in the spring and summer. I am so happy he isn't alone anymore.

You're a breath of fresh air as a tour guide to various spots. I liked your selection and also your approach to what would be interesting about the various towns - a cut above most shows like this. A small detail - I'd like to see the camera brought down a bit so we could see you maybe to the waist. It looks as if you are straining to look upward. I think you'd look more relaxed if you were looking straight on, and we saw more of you. I'm not a cameraman, but I hope this makes sense. Looking forward to more shows.

Superb! An engaging narration, aptly captured photographs, and a lucid presentation. Would you consider making a video on towns like Chapel Hill, NC? Maybe "University" towns...where the population swells up during the semesters, and thins down during the summer break. More than a seat of learning, the cultural aspects that must exist also could be presented!

The Story of how Manhattan, Kansas got its name deserves of review and it's it's a pretty lively and lovely community with both Kansas State University and Fort Riley just to the west. Lots of History and Geography and not so very flat at all. The Konza Prairie Reserve walks will provide a cornucopia of views.

I absolutely love this video. I don't travel as much as I used to since the pandemic. But this amazing video brings it all into my home. You asked my favorite little city... It's Laguna Beach, because it's an artist colony and the art festival each summer, right next to the Beach. Very wonderful little beach city. Have to mention, I've visited Solvang several times and really enjoyed it so much, especially Anderson's split pea soup. Especially nice to visit Solvang, because it's reasonable close to my home in Los Angeles.

Jackson, WY. So much to do in every season. National Museum of Wildlife Art, world class photo and art shops, rock & western shops, phenomenal restaurants, ice skating in a cute town square surrounded by wooden boardwalks, summer rodeos and a music festival, ski resorts, tubing, wildlife tours, biking, fly fishing, river rafting, dude ranching, and hiking in nearby Grand Tetons. Airport 7 miles out of town means easy access for long weekends. Great local shuttle for free. Can get crowded in the heart of summer, not bad in other seasons. Expensive.

Bronners is a great reason in itself to visit Michigan. The first Christmas tree we bought there and had shipped home to California was in 1997. This last May 2022 we visited and again bought our 7' lighted tree, lots of special and personalized ornaments are in stock year round, ornaments and decorations you won't find anywhere else! Hello From Texas - The history of our country is wonderful, and we need men like you to bring its gems to the surface. I don't have a small town on my list, accept Hightstown, NJ, where I grew up. Johnny Carson, and others, would frequent the Hightstown Dinner which for its time was very popular. I still think of my old house at 125 Center St, and even had a dream about, where the new owners redid the interior, and my dream showed me a chandelare that could be seen from the street. A week later I visited my house, and there I saw the chandelare. I was thrilled to see that my dream was true, and spent the rest my day walking around like I did when I was a kid. I remember a lot about this place, and still wonder if its in good working worder. Who knows, right!?
Thank you for your hard work, and I look forward to future updates. Merry Christmas to you. Be safe.

I've lived in North Dakota for about 40 years. Medora, in the very far western part of North Dakota, is great for a weekend, or a week-long visit. Go there and do all of the fun, touristy, 'western' things. Enjoy the scenery, as it is so pretty. From about April to October, that is the huge Tourism season in Medora and the Teddy Roosevelt National park, with over 600,000 tourists visiting per year. That is a lot of tourists for a small town like Medora, which has a normal population of about 120 people.

Greendale, WI has an incredible history and is as midwest Norma Rockwell as it gets! The town has celebrations throughout the year and a market in the summer Saturdays.

My hometown, Micanopy, Florida. The oldest inland town in Florida, and the oldest American Florida Territory town. We just celebrated our 200th Anniversary in 2021.

I have been only to Taos, and Solvang, having lived in Santa Barbara. I'd also give a shout out to Santa Ynez...Robles winery is outstanding.
Taos was interesting...the Pueblo is worth seeing.
After watching your wonderful video, I definitely want to check out the other small towns you mentioned.
    Great video!

Just found your site by accident, it’s wonderful. I’ve been to three of these top ten small towns, with three others on my list of places to visit. Guess I need to expand my list. Laconia, NH is a great little town!

@@AmericanClassicToursInc It isn't in the south, but the air has that slow thing I associate with the south. It is on the Mississippi, and the road through town runs along the river. I drove through the first time in 1989 when I was headed to grad school, and my son and I ate at Sneaky Pete's. The floors looked like old bar, but it was carpet, and the servers were dressed like gunslingers. If you wear a tie for dinner, they cut it off and tack it to the wall. It's one of those places that is typifies America. I've been back once (in 2010, when I drove my youngest son to college at Colgate), and have always thought I should go back for a vacation. In both visits, it felt like time stopped and all the stress melted away. I'm afraid I haven't explained it very well but, to this day, I feel a sense of well being whenever I think of Le Claire. Plus, American Pickers has their shop there. I'm dying to go poke around in it!

Eureka Springs is indeed charming and beautiful. Spring and fall best time to go, as summers are hot and muggy.

Good Video of some small towns in America. Just a few additional small towns for a future Video. The Sun Valley area of Idaho. Virginia City of Nevada. Branson in Missouri. Tombstone Arizona. The five cities area of the Central coast of California, such as shell Beach, arroyo grande, Oceano. These are all wonderful places to visit and they all have very interesting histories. Would be fun to watch. One City I almost forgot is Silverton, Colorado. I have been to all of them. And if I remember correctly I have visited all of your cities except for Stowe, Connecticut. Thanks for the memories.
