  • I've been trying to concentrate on learning my new Fisher F75 rather than filming everything. It's a very different machine than I'm used to but so far I'm loving it. These are clips of my first three hunts with it.

Yea, a bit late to the party here but that's one of the best first hunts with a new machine I've ever seen! Awesome!!

Thanks Dan! Man that place was loaded. I still hit it from time to time but me and Mark-TBH have it pretty well cleaned out I think. I still have and use my F75 too. But hot rocks tend to drive it nuts so I don't use it as much as my Equinox.

I'm pretty sure the date is on the bottom of the zippo. I really liked the ink bottle. The thing you found that swivels is I'm pretty sure what used to be around in the 50's and 60's and when you spun it, it would show either a word or a picture. Some would say good luck. Absolutely beautiful barber dime. Your F75 is doing the job. I've got a T2 Classic and I really like it too. You found some great history. Good video, I enjoyed it.

I didn't see a date but I'll have to look again. Yeah the good luck thing is pretty neat, I've never seen one before. I can't figure out the date though. Some suggested 1930s, others said it could be from the 50s. Thanks for watching and commenting

Really looks like the new machine was worth the sell off! Congrats on the war nickel and the buffs (God knows I am a big fan lol)! Like the 1914 Barber dime and Zippo as well! Mr. Grumpy's guest appearance was very amusing to me!! Great hunt brother and hope you have received and are happy with you prize. Thanks for sharing and Keep Living the Dirt Life!!

Yeah that was a nice buck wasn't it! I'm actually a little leery of getting too close to them during the rut though. lol

That new machine did quite well for ya. That silver coin is totally amazing. The reverse looks like it was just minted! Really nice. Nice buffalo's too. You did good out there. You seem to be able to find some good locations that always have interesting finds. Man I need to get out of my home turf and go looking for other places. Don't know if its going to pan through but I may have a chance to hunt some fields up in Pa. at some locations one of my cousin's owns. Haven't seen them in over 30 years, so gonna be rough asking for permission :/
Thanks for taking us along...really enjoyed it. That machine is working great for ya for sure.
Good luck and happy hunting to you on your next!
    John

So far I really like it. I feel most comfortable with all metal mode but I'm starting to mess with discrimination mode a little more now too. I was really shocked at how nice the back of that dime is. I wish I could do something for the front but anything I do will just scratch it all up I'm sure. I hate living so close to the city but it is good for detecting I guess. Most of the wooded areas this close to the city were all clear at one time and people farmed and walked all over them. Wow if you get up to Pa where about would that be? Good hunting grounds south central and east. I hope you can get the permission! -Matt.

Hi Matt, Their main house is in Chambersburg. Not sure where the dairy farm is. My mom actually talked to one of them a few days ago, and asked for me :) They are going talk to some people they claim would know some good spots I could go to.They were to get back to me in a couple days...but it's been about a week now. Hope it does work out even if it would be next spring or summer when the weather would be better. I'm in no hurry, just need to find other places to go to. Plenty of woods out here to hunt but no where to park a car unless its right there on the road. And I don't trust that :(
      Take care and happy hunting!
      John
