The Synthesis version of End of the Dream is the best one in my opinion.
Yes! I especially love the live version, one of my favorites
Agree 100%
It was for sure. So different for the studio version. A lot of Synthesis wasn't much different from the studio ones. End of the Dream wasn't. That whispery start to a finish where Amy really put her foot on the gas. It was epic.
Omg yes, those high notes on the live version is insane.
GOD DAMN RIGHT!
Her voice is ethereal. It's amazing.
I’ve always thought Amy Lee is one of the best singers I’ve ever heard.
Me too bro
She's my hero and the reason I write music.
I was just saying this to my friends yesterday !!
Absolutely!! I'm obsessed!
Sitting down I'd agree 😌 she's amazing with a piano, but I think she struggles with breath control if she's playing with a metal band 😌 this performance is beautiful though 🙏
I have to let you know that I am a huge Amy Lee fan (having actually meet her) and I can tell you she is classically trained and not only was in choir during middle and high school, but she also went to Middle Tennessee State for college where she was further trained. She not only killed it on piano, but her harp playing is impeccable as well, something I wish I could do. She is as down-to-earth off stage as she is on stage and this is something that shows in her singing and performing.
Beth is the queen of “reacts to”. And Amy Lee is simply unmatched
She is the Queen of the epic emotions ❤️
I love how she can do so many different things, but her timing, rhythm and enunciation are always dead-accurate. No slop at all, even in legato phrasing.
Love when people show Evanescence some love!
The synthesis version of this song is so otherworldly!
Always loved how Amy was able to merge her melody with Mozart strings sections from the Requiem's Lacrymosa (which are themselves in my opinion one of the most divine use of music we'll be able to find around, and I'm agnostic :P ). And this live performance is awesome, perhaps one of her best, thanks Beth for having brought it up with your usual competence and passion ;)
They're doing a live stream concert in a couple of days, would love to see you reactions of some of the new songs performed live.
This is the great idea!!! 💡
Up
Omg I didn't know she drop a new album!!! Her voice it's angelic ❤️
They're playing tonight in an hour. 💜
We've been blessed with 2 amazing videos in just few days... oh Beth, you rock girl. This album is just a masterpiece imo. Amy was so ahead of time, she did an entire "reimagined" album when "reimagined" wasn't even a thing, like nowadays. Synthesis concerts are honestly my favorite experience ever... both were so special. Her voice is just so mesmerizing, it takes you on an emotional journey and nurtures your soul. How lucky we all are to grow up listening to Evanescence... Thanks again for such a wonderful and genuine reaction. Many hugs your way.
@@benferguson4120 and the point of your comment is...?!
@@benferguson4120 Is your life really that pathetic that you feel the need to go around UA-cam talking nonsense to people who obviously disagree with your music taste, or lack of it. Keep your toxicity away from me - I can stan/simp/love who I want. Your asinine remarks won't change my mind, quite the opposite. I will never understand you haters. Please, stop this completely unneeded convo - I will ignore you! And get a life.
@@benferguson4120 Lol where do you get your facts? Evanescence is simple the most listen female fronted band worldwide, Spotify and iTunes don't lie, hence why their last record was #1 in 24 countries, Ev is better than ever, each single have been #1 on rock charts aswell, they sell out every concerts since 2015 til next year continuosly, they are free from labels and still making great music, rock is not mainstream, yet everytime they release anything it gets on top of mainstream and rock charts aswell bc people know and love how great they are. If you are stuck in 2003, that's your problem, the band has had three #1 records in a row since then, probably what you like is the average guitar playing and forced male vocals, but to say BMTL is their best work is dull, just proves what you like to hear is average rock radio stuff lol
@@AmyLeeForever I don't understand these people, they say they like one song, yet they are checking out other Ev stuff, just to state they like one song off them.... like if "I don't care "for a band but for one single, I won't ever go into spending my free time into knowing more about something supposedly I don't give a f. Haters gonna hate I guess, that just proves some people are dumb or literally they got nothing better to do.
@@xPaLmaaHx He obviously has issues, and I'm not a shrink to help him solve his problems. I always welcome constructive criticism, but using words like: lousy, irritating, etc. is a sign of a blatant hater... so why waste time on him.
So exquisitely ethereal. Saw her sing this in concert. I have done my masters in singing. I love the way you describe everything so well Beth.
I always love your videos, as someone who loves music and singing but is essentially incapable of generating a note let alone holding a tune, I really appreciate the way you describe the skill and anatomy etc of the vocals. Plus the joy you always express as you listen matches my own. Love your vids. 😍😍😍
Her voice is mesmerizing and haunting. I love her
Based on what is (allegedly) the last music Mozart wrote before his death, the beginning of the "Lachrymosa" from his "Requiem", finished off by someone else (perhaps Salieri). The way Amy goes from head to belt and controls her dynamics is amazing. My Immortal and Sober are my two Evanascence favs though this is close :) Also check out her singing "Bring Me To Life" with the Waggaki band from Japan, one of those collabs that sounds odd but works amazingly well.
The Lacrymosa movement was only a sketch. Movements 1, 2, 4, and 5 of Mozart's Requiem (where the classical music of this particular piece comes from) were completed. This is 14 movements and this--movement 7--along with 3, 6, and 8-14 were completed by Franz Xavier Süssmeyer and were written to mimic what Mozart would have done. The Requiem was Mozart's 626th piece of work and was started right before the king of Austria poisoned him out of jealousy for taking all the attention away from the royals. Jealousy can really bite sometimes, am I right?
It was about time that someone reacted to Synthesis Live, thank you! ♥
More and more Amy Lee/Evanescence, please. :D
I found out they released a new album on my drive home from work. I was listening to the radio and I was like "hmm this song is really good, it kinda reminds me of Evanescence." Then a little bit later "Man this really sounds like Amy Lee, this can't be Evanescence" When I saw the info scroll on my radio show that it was and then the DJ announcing that it was Better Without You from their new album I squeed like a teenage girl again.
Almost as soon as I got home I started looking up when they were planning their next show near me.
Keep the Evanescence reactions coming. Maybe "The Bitter Truth" 👍‼️
I saw this tour in Manchester and it was the greatest performance I have ever witnessed.
So jealous. 😉
Love Amy! Love your reaction as well🙏🏼🌹 from Mississippi
Beth - I really appreciate the attention you are giving to this genre (now my favorite). I think Symphonic Metal is overlooked by many who would love it's intensity and emotion.
Great evaluation of Amy Lee's performance!
Glad you did this song Beth! It's probably one of their most overlooked songs.
Great video Beth! I love Amy Lee and she is very talented! Amy could sing a lullaby and my heart would be happy! Thank you for this upload!😍
I appreciate the precision of Beth's descriptions. Sound, like taste, is hard to put into words so well!
OMG!! Thank you for reacting to this. You should also check out End of the dream Synthesis live dvd version by them too. It is also from this show.
Oh yes, shows off he range well.
It is fun to watch her warming up in the studio, she does volume exercises using extremes. Fantastic.
one of my favourite things she's done with her voice was in the song "missing"
"Maybe someday you'll look up
And, barely conscious, you'll say to no one
Isn't something missing?"
she sings "one" and "is" so quietly that you can barely hear them, but somehow that makes the emotion of it hit you like a truck
One of my favorite Ev songs and I loved this version of it even more. Thank you for reacting to it.
thanks for this reaction, i loved it!! grateful to learn more about amy’s voice with your videos, hope you keep doing evanescence reaction videos!! stay safe 🤘🏼✨
Love how well you explain everything :) Amy is amazinggg
Awesome reaction and song as always 🥰
The original version of this song from The Open Door album is my all time favorite Evanescence song 🖤
The album downloaded to my phone. Love listening to it. Live with the symphony ( German) makes for an awesome experience. Crying certainlly apropos for a lacrymosa or lament. She hooked me back with Fallen when I was definitley at a low point. You can hear she has not been idle or resting on her laurels. Learning more singing techniques. My word does it show even to an ametuer who could only tell you it sounds fabulous. Thanks @Beth Roars I love your videos.
Amazing knowledge, voice and channel. Thank you!
I love this song
Beth, great reaction and analysis as usual! I love the fact that you love Amy's voice as much as we do. With your technical training and skilled ear, I know how easy it might be to perhaps get caught up in what Amy may be doing right or wrong according to the textbooks...but you recognize how beautiful and ethereal it sounds! I personally don't care if a thousand women have better technique...Amy is the Queen of my heart as far as singers go! Thanks for doing this, you're simply the best. 👏
She is the best. 💜🥺💜
💖 love that song
I just adore your little rawr after the musical ones.
One of my favorite songs of their discography alongside with all the open door album
I love how the music always literally travels through her body. Like amy's arms are just constantly ~~¬¬¬~~~{}~` you can tell shes always giving 100% of herself to the song
And Amy's only 5'2...
Love your videos! Amy Lee is an absolute legend!
Please do a video on Anastacia's voice!
I love you Amy lee
Hello! So finally you do analysis and reaction of someone I love. You are one of the best when analyzing song. Thank you very much. This concert with these songs is nearly the best I have heard. Do yourself a favor. Listen and see the masterpiece End of the dream in this concert. It would be great to see you do it but it may be too much to ask. Lacrymosa is amazing but dream does something with you and the first time I saw it, i felt like I was run over by a high-speed train. She opens her soul completely in this.
Would been an dream if Amy and Floor would do something togheter,or Amy the new powerhouse in Ayreon
That would be the dream!
But I still feel like Europe is very separated from North America when it comes to music.
Well, now that Ev has an european connection maybe it can happen someday.
Thank you for the reaction Beth I always love your videos. You are definitely one of my favorite reactors. I love Evanescence and Amy Lee. Please can you also react to a Live performance of Evanescence's Your Star. 🤘😁🤘❤️
This is my favourite Lacrymosa version. 🤘✨🇦🇷
I know this is a two year old video, but I just wanted to comment that it's very cool to me that you compare her voice to a violin, because I have full-time sound-color synesthesia, which means sounds have color and shape to me, and I've said for years that her voice looks exactly the same as a violin's sound to me. She really does handle her voice exactly the way violinists play, and it's a beautiful, beautiful sound.
I remember her mentioning she had vocal coaching specifically for “The Open Door” album which is where this song is from. I believe it’s from those lessons we got to hear that amazing head voice of hers. She previously never used that technique in recordings. Love this song and her voice so much more as years pass ❤️
me encanta todoo, sabe realmente lo que esta hablando --- amy lee para mi una de las mejores voces femeninas de rock gotico uvu alternativo uvu saludos desde colombia

Wonderful reaction lady in red, definitely this interpretation of #amylee is a masterpiece Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart would be proud.
More reaction on #evanescence and the new #thebittertruth.
She is throwing us from the roof and laying pillows to the surface. Her voice is a roller coaster.
Wonderfull Beth! I just loved it! Please do it with The End Of The Dream song in Synthesis, please
You should react to end of the dream from synthesis
Amazing artist, best rock opera mix...the violin secteur is a cover of the famous Mozart -Requiem-Lacrimosa part..epic
Hello lovely Beth.💐
Hi Beth! I guess you already have your tickets for the Worlds Collide tour (which has now moved to spring 2022) which is Evanescence and Within Temptation together, so that you can enjoy Amy Lee and Sharon Den Adel on the same day?
Design your Universe (live) / Unleashed (live ) - Epica
The Scarecrow (The flying Opera live) - Avantasia
Untouchable pt.1 and 2 (live) - Anathema
There's nothing Amy can't do with her voice. If I had to imagine what an angel would sound like singing a song...Amy's voice is about as close as it gets. It's literally angelic. There's a lot of excellent female singers but she's unmatched.
Her head voice gives me the shivers
you should check out “hello” by evanescence that ones good as well
Her voice has gotten better and better
Now I must watch this whole show. Where can watch it ?
I love it when you do vocalists that I love, like Amy Lee... Please do more Avenged Sevenfold as well. And do an analysis of Vicky Psarakis from The Agonist.
More Evanescence, pls :(
Amy Lee sings Mozart. Brilliant.
Would be interesting to hear what you make of Dead Can Dance - Yulunga for exemple ...
You have to the live version of “My Immortal”.
You should react to the end of the dream synthesis version
You NEED to hear her singing "The End of the Dream" from Synthesis!
It reminds of Bring Me To Life. Similar tone.I love her voice on Bring Me To Life. I can't help singing along with the song!
Rock Music will never die it will live forever

What is the best equalizer in iOS for this ???
Hello Beth!!👋
Love your channel. Please can you react to End of the Dream, Evanescence Synthesis Live
❤️
I did the same faces you did 😂
Amy Lee is one of those extremely rare vocalists that can tell a story, not just sing. Very few vocalists have this ability … especially females. Others that come to mind are Aaron Lewis, Tom T Hall, George Jones, Karen Carpenter and john Denver. Most on this short list are pitch perfect and always in tune. Others (Lewis and Hall) are just so emotionally connected to the song it comes through.
I prefer the original version from The Open Door album. But anything in Amy's voice just sounds heavenly!! Would love to see your reaction to 'Your Star' :D
I've said it was the best too and got flamed for it. I just love the light air way she say it. Not that this version was bad in any way. The Open Door version to me was special.
@@larrylindgren9484 It was special indeed. I still have the CD version. Remember when we used to listen to music on CD's? Damn...I'm old.
Benjamin Todd - Using Again
Amy lee is the Queen of the Darkness! ❤️❤️❤️
Queen 👑 Amy 😍 ♥
As much as I like this ... Mozart can't be beaten here.
I love her Angelic tones TBH
Thank you for reacting to one of their "not hits." Evanescene has SO many other great songs. Other songs that would be great for vocal reactions would be "Your Star" or "Good Enough."
The change - Live in Germany
I want to hear Amy with just a piano or guitar and her voice... I had to Google the lyrics to this song before watching the video so I'd have a better feel for what she was singing about...sometimes I find the rest of the band distracting from her genius...great video, Beth 🔥
- Evanescence - Lost in Paradise (The session)... A black and white video.
- Evanescence - Even in death live in New York 2016 version.
Just found your channel and love your energy.Amy Lee is one of the best and singing with so much emotion.the only artist that sings with this much emotion, maybe more, would be Justin from Blue October.they have to be the most underrated group.Justin writes all the music from his life journeys.he suffers with metal health issues and at one time addiction problems.his early music is much darker then these days.he beat his addiction and found God.he has such a great testimony.
I would love to see your opinion on there music.
Blue October
The Feel Again or Fear would give you a idea of their music.think you would like them.

Hi Beth, can you listen or react to "Antonio Cartagena - sin ti"
I have a question: I usually see the videos of the more recent part of her carreer, like this one you reacted to, and I feel she is kind of suffering, or doing a huge effort to keep her voice in place. Her body language somehow reinforces that impression I have. What do you think about that?
I think that she is just expressing the emotions fully
has miss roars never done a mars volta analysis?
Beth, that "cry" technique that you're talking about in the video do you mean "curbing" in CVT?
I'm not hugely knowledgeable on the nuances of CVT terminology but from what I know cry and curbing are very similar. However, I think encompasses combines both sob (lower larynx) and cry (higher larynx). Although CVT people do correct me if I am wrong!
