As bad as it’s aged, it’s a movie I gotta thank cause I saw it back in 2010 when I was 9 yrs old. My sister had the DVD of this movie and I thought "I'm not supposed to watch this. Let's watch it." and then my curiosity made me look into the actual horror movies it parody’d. Now I’m super into all kinds of horror: movies, books, games. It all started with Scary Movie. 😂
This and the second is honestly so good! My mom and I still quote them to this day! “Oh my god we hit a boot!” “No one mention this again! Mention what? The guy we just killed! …well YOU just mentioned it Greg!” 😂 Also I feel like the storyline with Ray isn’t that bad but him trying to be straight is what’s funny cause they never bash him for the stuff he says or does and they just go with it lol

The scene in the locker room where Buffy dies is my favorite. Mainly because it parodies Tatum's death in 'Scream,' which was one of my favorites from the movie. But also I just lose it at Shannon Elizabeth's over-the-top acting in this scene and watching ghostface just taken aback and grossed out. It's just so good, lol.
I remember I was in the army at the time, and I heard people talking about this movie and the way they describe it "A dude puts his ear near a bathroom wall and a d!ck goes through his head." I am like "No way can this movie exist." When I finally saw it, I just lost it and watched this over and over again. Loved the second one as well. LOL

I’ve literally watched it like 3 or 4 times lol I’m the same age as y’all and have fond memories of this movie, the friends I saw it with and the jokes we laughed about for years after. Thanks again y’all! Stay well and be good people! 🧡
I am 40 and this movie came out when I was 18 I believe. I saw this movie so many times. It seemed like once it made it to tv it was always on one of the comedy channels or MTV. Even though the scream movies are obviously superior, I had a hard time not getting confused about certain scenes. It is true when you said they kinda fuse after a while. It is definitely outdated but I still love the gross out and physical comedy.
I worked at a movie theater when this came out and almost every showing a mom came out with her small child saying she didn’t know it was “that” kind of movie. Hilarious!
The moment you realize that both you and Chelsea were extras on Harold and Kumar, that we were obviously on set at the same time and now I'm wondering if we ever actually spoke while waiting to film. This is nuts!
Not sure why, but watching this with you two, just these 30 min made this so much funnier? Like, yknow when you watch a movie with a friend but they're not super into it and they dont feel the same way about the jokes? This felt like the opposite - I'm so obsessed with this movie, and you two really vibed to the jokes and there's such a nice appreciation for the humor, honestly, what a great upload!! That black TV quote is one of my favorites. 😂😂 And that Doofy disguise twist totally threw me for a loop the 1st time. Every scene with Shorty was just A+. The sequel absolutely deserves a commentary track cause Scary Movie 2 is my personal fav of the whole franchise.
I saw Scary Movie 1 & 2 as a kid before I ever saw any of the films that they make reference to. So as an adult I'm now starting to get around to all those films & keep having the "Oh that's where that came from" moments.
I watched this for the first time in 2017 when I was 8. I loved it because I wasn’t into horror at the time, and after this I watched Scream and loved horror after. This movie is the reason of how I found this channel and started watching a lot of horror.

So I was a huge Scream fan when I was a small child (I was born in 1996). My mom brought this movie home from Hollywood Video thinking it was another Scream movie. My 5-year-old self thought this movie was the funniest thing in the world. My mom was horrified and hid the VHS on top of the fridge, but I still watched it constantly. 10/10 is one of my favorite movies specifically because of what it meant to me as a child. I definitely shouldn't have watched it so young lmao

I love "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?". I saw it a few months back, 16, it's a mixed bag. The jokes either fall flat or are offensive or they can be laugh out loud hilarious. There's no in between
I was 5 years old when Scary Movie came out and I remember watching it and not understanding anything that was going on Lol. It's my favorite parody of all time. I love and miss the Early 2000s.
You know you guys have to do the commentary for All of the Scary Movies, right? Even the extra bad ones. And I’m here for it. Scary movie was almost as big of an influence on my early exposure to horror as the scream series.
I was a background extra in both Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4. For Scary Movie 3, I was asked to be the guy getting off of the toilet in the cursed video. Unfortunately for me, that role went to someone else who had a bigger ass. So I was asked to stick around and they'd find something else for me. So I spent most of the day hanging out with the body doubles of Carmen Electra and Pamela Anderson (both very nice girls and looked remarkably like the actresses who they were sitting in for). I was eventually given the part of a newsroom cameraman. I was working the camera as Sindey and her boss were fighting over control of the teleprompter as Sidney was trying to warn the world about the cursed video tape and her boss was trying to deny its existence. Unfortunately, all footage of me wound up on the cutting room floor. There isn't even any surviving footage of me in the extended footage in Special Features on the DVD/BluRay. In Scary Movie 4 I played one of the refugees wandering along the road in the scene which parodies the scene from War Of The Worlds where the refugees attack Tom Cruise's car because it's the only one that still works. It's a "blink and you'll miss it" moment, but you can actually see me on screen pounding on the cars hood, shouting to be let in. Pause the video in just the right place, and I'd be practically right in the middle of your TV screen.
I’m 31, I watched this movie for the first time recently and then your commentary video. I remember watching scary movie 3 and laughing so much but Not understanding a lot of the references. I was raised by my grandma in a very Christina home and so I didn’t get to watch anything besides Disney until o got old enough o could sneak things. I watched scary movie 1 for the first time and died laughing. Even at all the dory stuff even though clearly it was wayyyy out of line and I felt bad at times but its just hysterical. I also think I liked it way more bc it was directed by and starred lots of people of color and some of theirs jokes were so freaking elevated and nuanced because of that.
I'm 28. I grew up with these movies, and I actually just rewatched the first 4 in the last month. The "it's bad luck to cross" or whatever followed by them getting hit by the car made me laugh so hard I woke my girlfriend up lmao.
I too grew up with Scary Movie (with the 3rd being my personal fave), and watched them waaaaay too many times at a young, single-digit age 😂. Watching this brought back all the nostalgia and how genuinely funny a great parody can be. Off to HBOMax to have a Scary Movie binge!!❤

Kill Count on all The *Scary Movie* Series - loved the twist in the past for the first one on how Doofy the Cop was secret Ghost-face playing dumb the whole time. Also that he's secretly hot the whole time.
I'm 34. Grew up with this movie. I still love it and watch 1-3 of the series every few years. Whichever one has Shorty being smoked by a giant weed plant was great. Fun video - thanks!
Loved this type of video, kickass format and hearing you guys laugh is really funny. Chelsea's laugh is so pure and cute, when Bobby gets hit in the face with a tree branch, it's hilarious. 10/10. Kind of a blast from the past for me, I'm 22 and watched this a ton as a kid. I actually saw it before I saw Scream
This movie was funny as fuck. Scary Movie and Not Another Teen Movie are two of the greatest parodies.
I won't pretend that the stuff revolving around Ray being obviously closeted has actually aged well or anything, but I will say that as a fan of Scream, I found it funny because so many people have made the joke that Stu was in love with Billy.
It was really overused, but as a kid, I loved it, because I was an idiot
@@kyellverdonschot9922 still funny
“Does this make me look gay?”
“Okay how bout now?” Lol
It’s crazy this was the first film role for Anna Farris. She’s absolutely hilarious and plays a ditzy character so well
Loved tuning into this. It was great to relate to some others regarding horror movies. My family aren't one for them. Chelsea's laughter was so heartwarming and joyful to hear, I couldn't help but laugh a bit myself.
We appreciate your commentaries. They’re certainly detailed and informative.
Oh hell yes, y'all gotta do more commentary tracks! I love it!
They do one every month on patreon
It would be nice if they didn’t constantly have to point out how problematic everything is to let us know how good they are.
@@EvilDick1995It’s okay to acknowledge how things were problematic, but still be able to enjoy it.
Sometimes it’s genuinly jarring watching old movies that you haven’t seen in a long time, then realizing how messed up some parts are. You acknowledge the flaws and you move on
Marissa (Horsey you scared me too) was also the drive thru manager in American Beauty. Her sass in those scenes crack me up. Edit to add: 35 here and yeah, 1 and 2 were HILARIOUS and rewatchable (and great to quote even though most people don't know the references).
So I love this movie. My dad took me to the premiere because he was a movie producer at WB. He passed away 2020 so this move has a messed up place in my heart.
Re-watching any of the movies that they parodied here makes it so hard to not lose it. I just can't watch Scream or I know What You Did Last Summer without constantly laughing just because of this movie. It's sooooo good 😂
My dad introduced me to the movie when I did the waaazzap thing to him one time and then I showed it to my friend group and the jokes from the movie became our inside jokes. It was truly a big break for me as it started my love for movies in general and I still quote the jokes daily.
Our friend group eventually watched the other ones up until SM3 but at that point we realized that none of them were better than the OG.
I am really happy that I got to watch you comment over it and hear that you both like the movie. Makes me real happy.
Absolute classic! I remember when this came out. I was young and watched it with my older siblings. I never have laughed so much. It’s even funnier when you watch it when you get older.
Yeah especially when you understand the jokes 😂
The Scary Movies, Naked Guns, and Airplanes were movies I grew up on. No matter how many times I watch them, I laugh as hard as I did the first time.
Imo the top 5 greatest spoofs/parody/slapstick are as follows.
1. Naked Gun Trilogy
2. Superhero Movie
3. Loaded Weapon 1
Certainly an underrated top 5. I have extensive history with Scary Movie though. Easily a great sixth spot
@@Nickr3000 Top Secret! is also great
Leslie Nielsen was in all three of those movies 😊 There's just something hilarious about the deadpan delivery of his lines 😂
@@Nickr3000 Superhero Movie gets looked over far too often! That movie is hilarious. And the scene with the nail gun makes me hurt from laughing!
@@pressplayulysses He is one of the greatest comedic actors ever! If you have never watched Police Squad, the TV show before Naked Gun, you have to check it out!
This is the first time I hear Chelsea’s laugh. I absolutely love it .
I was in the club of having seen Scary Movie before Scream. And I remember being absolutely shocked that Dewey wasn't the killer when I finally did watch Scream!
I’m gay. My gay friends and I all love Ray. We don’t find him offensive. We think closeted “straight” guys are funny too.
Thanks for replying. I was thinking the whole time how it's not really offensive. It's not implying that all gay people are like ray. Just that he specifically is like that. I don't really get the whole outdated thing. I'm pretty sure closeted gay guys/girls exist after the year 2000.
Love it ❤
@@coreyhamby2989 I think it’s the fact that he’s portrayed as a stereotype and then he also turns out to be one of the killers. Not that I care, he’s fucking hilarious. But I think that’s why people might have an issue with his character.
@@pokemaster1478gays can be killers too
For me it’s just that it’s every. Single. Line. Like damn ok we got it the first 50 times. And not all of his jokes are even funny. Some are ngl
I was 6 when this came out and I grew up with this. Not a ton of restrictions in my house for the good and the bad. But this was always a great time. Each of the sequels were also gems in my house. My siblings and I would always have a great time laughing with them.
This movie actually got me into horror movies 🤘🏼
same
It ruined my sexual education AND got me into horror. Fortunately not related
I am an old, lady. I watched this on VHS. I was 17 or 18 when it came out, and my friends and I quoted the damn thing all the time. One of the best characters is Cindy's dad. The actor who played him was who one of the neighbors in "The Burbs", which I have seen an obscene number of times.
James is apologizing way too much. Scary Movie is an incredible spoof that shows a lot of love to the source material. It's a little dated for sure, but even then, it's not incredibly offensive (just mildly). Chelsea has a good sense of humor.
Neat. Wasn't allowed to watch this movie. Did anyway.
I'm telling
SAME
Dead Neat
Omggg…….I’m telling!
Let's tell! 🤣
i was 1 when this came out and this was still such an integral part of my childhood. when all the parents went to bed, we’d throw any Scary Movie on. though most of the jokes probably went over my head, i still remember loving it with a passion
“Oh my god we hit a boot!”
“No one mention this again! Mention what? The guy we just killed! …well YOU just mentioned it Greg!” 😂
Also I feel like the storyline with Ray isn’t that bad but him trying to be straight is what’s funny cause they never bash him for the stuff he says or does and they just go with it lol
I love love love this casual commentary style from both of y’all, the casualness and the jokes are so funny. If you guys wanted to do more of these I would so support it!!
I do think that one of the things that really elevates it is just how brutal her self leg break is.
@@tinkerer3399 and ghostface's genuine WTF reaction to it lol
YES THIS IS GREAT, Y’ALL HAVE TO DO A TRACK WITH PRETTY MUCH IT
Fuck yeah
omg a fellow pmi enjoyer 🫶🏽🫶🏽
Pretty much it is so good
LMAO GOOOOO TIGERS!
literally my first thought when i saw this!
LOL
That’s actually part 2 but still hilarious lol
I didn't know you guys did reactions type videos. It works with your personalities. Plus Chelsea laugh is contagious!
“I got papers...” 😂😂😂
I love Chelsea’s laugh in this,it’s wonderful, love watching your channel!!
Oh this gave me sooo much happiness watching and listening to! Thanks y’all for posting this!! I’ve literally watched it like 3 or 4 times lol
I’m the same age as y’all and have fond memories of this movie, the friends I saw it with and the jokes we laughed about for years after. Some things didn’t age well or are highlighted about how not funny it was then and now. I introduced my husband to this movie recently and he had a good time with little reference knowledge. Thanks again y’all! Stay well and be good people! 🧡
The Doofy twist is actually super solid. Like it made me go back and see Dewey's character in a whole different light
The pure giggles from Chelsea made this. More of these love it!
As a 21 year with older siblings ranging from 4-15 years older than me, I can say this franchise has a special place in my heart
To this day one of the funniest jokes in these movies was the Sheriff hat getting bigger. Fucking top tier.
Also, shoutout to Regina Hall's "...with a backup dancer - i mean, that's nasty. that's lower than security guard - at least security can get you backstage - she dont love herself, she is as fake as press on nails HAY BABY GIRLL!!!!" delivery!!
Man, when I watched this movie with your commentary track my life was so different. But I remember I was having such a blast with this one and scary movie 2
Ray is one of the funniest parts of the movies
Humour is subjective.
I grew up with this series & it was right up my alley with the movie comedy & references.
I totally get Ray feeling a bit dated, but but Shawn Wayans plays the character so well, i can't help but love him 😭
Please do more commentaries James and Chelsea! Loved every second of it
Lol they do A TON of commentary tracks. But you have to be a patron to get access to all of them .
@@pokemaster1478 this explains everything lol
The fish in the coffee was Doofy's last attempt on Cindy's life🤣💀
I saw Scary Movie 1 & 2 as a kid before I ever saw any of the films that they make reference to. So as an adult I'm now starting to get around to all those films & keep having the "Oh that's where that came from" moments.
I know it’s probably problematic, but goddamn do I still laugh at rays lines lmaooo “I’ll grab his ass” shit kills me dude Lmao
I watched this for the first time in 2017 when I was 8. I loved it because I wasn’t into horror at the time, and after this I watched Scream and loved horror after. This movie is the reason of how I found this channel and started watching a lot of horror.
bro is 14
yep
Chelsea goes from being such a majestic woman to a powerpuff girl when she laughs 😂
I was in my 20's when this came out, love the commentary y'all! Please do more...it's an offensive film, but in the best ways.made me nostalgic for other back in the day movies.I'm 43 now.and laughed right with ya..
6:14 Carmen Electra got known for dating Prince and he liked her so much gave her a record deal. Then she co-hosted MTV's Singled Out game show.
This was a blast and I still love this movie. 😂😂😂 I was 13 when it came out. I recall sneaking into it after watching another movie. It was a packed house and the laughter was insane. I’ve watched it so many times.
I think you guys should do a kill count on Bubba Ho-tep. It's weird, it's got a decent looking monster, and it's an excuse to get Bruce Campbell on the Kill Count again which is always worth it
I love "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?". I saw it a few months back, 16, it's a mixed bag. The jokes either fall flat or are offensive or they can be laugh out loud hilarious. There's no in between
God bless you guys for reacting to Scary Movie (2000)
I was 5 years old when Scary Movie came out and I remember watching it and not understanding anything that was going on Lol. It's my favorite parody of all time. I love and miss the Early 2000s.
22 now watched this for the first time when I was 8 and it still has me dead till this day. A parody of a parody will always work for me.
You know you guys have to do the commentary for All of the Scary Movies, right? Even the extra bad ones.
And I’m here for it. Scary movie was almost as big of an influence on my early exposure to horror as the scream series.
I’m the same age as James I too watch the first two Scary Movies religiously with my brother & quoting every moment from it!
Yess Brenda in the 3rd cracks me up. I always quote "Cindy the Tv is leaking"
6:38 I love how hard these two laughed at that 😂
I absolutely adore Chelsea’s giggle
I keep coming back to this video. Hope you’ll release more of these!
Thanks for mentioning Smiley Face! It's a stoner comedy that definitely doesn't get the love it deserves. Anna Faris is truly a gift lol
I'm 28. I grew up with these movies, and I actually just rewatched the first 4 in the last month. The "it's bad luck to cross" or whatever followed by them getting hit by the car made me laugh so hard I woke my girlfriend up lmao.
I used to think the "BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!" was a genuine Stu line
I too grew up with Scary Movie (with the 3rd being my personal fave), and watched them waaaaay too many times at a young, single-digit age 😂. Watching this brought back all the nostalgia and how genuinely funny a great parody can be. Off to HBOMax to have a Scary Movie binge!!❤
The extended version of Shorty’s death is great! He’s watching the security cameras thinking it’s a horror movie it’s hilarious. 😂
