I am so happy hearing your opinion due to me having the pencils already. Thank you 😁
You are so welcome!
One of the great lines of all time: "I never said I was smarter than packaging." ❤
I find that when looking for granulation from granulating watercolors, it often requires a liberal amount of water to see the effects. Water and the type of paper will show granulation differently.
Yes, however if you use them in adult coloring, you cannot add a lot of water or you will have paper that starts to break down :(
Thank you so much for your amazing content and in-depth explanations. As always, Kori truly appreciated! Have a lovely weekend!💕🎨
Thank you so much!
I have neither and I want both the pencils and the pans. I have the Staedtler water soluble graphite pencils and the old set of Derwent XL blocks, apparently that’s not enough…
I like the Staedtler ones. Definitely more robust with pigment than Graphitint
Your video here was very helpful for me. I do have the set of pencils and was wondering about the set of pans. I’ve now decided to just stick with the pencils n I’m satisfied with them.
Oh I'm so happy that it helped you though!
I really enjoy the Derwent Graphitint pencils, thanks for the comparison.
You are so welcome!
Hi kori I have both pencils and the pan I love them both but I’m with you I rather the pencils too.. great review and very honest thank you hun ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊xxxxx
Thank you! 🤗
Thanks Kori! Now you have to compare to the XL blocks ;-) or the Kuratake graphite paints. I love the pencils too!
The blocks are made similarly to the pans, so I'm not sure I'll have much differences there :)
Hi Kori, I find with Graphitint pencils that you do get different results/colours if you draw with the pencil (and then dilute) vs lifting colouring off the tip with a wet brush. Perhaps if you compared the second technique with the paint pans you might get closer colour results? Just a thought!
I’m guessing they have created the pans for people who prefer to paint like watercolours and pencils have their own place as a “drawing tool” perhaps? I think it’s great that Derwent are producing the same colours over a wide range of products for different uses 👍 Great review!
So, I’ve pulled from the tip of the pencil before, and I guess that’s one thing I should have mentioned in the review. The one issue with doing that, however, is you are pulling pigment out and well, diluting what you are going to get as you continue to use the lead of that pencil
@@ColorfullyOptimistic as with everything in life, there will be a preference for a particular working method. 😊 I haven’t found the pencil lead colour to be diluted after lifting from the tip….but I don’t actually colour directly onto paper with waterbased pencils very often because I find it’s the paper in colouring books that is not the best for that method most of the time - and I seem to get the worst results that way (I never seem to be able to dissolve it properly)☹️ I also think it depends what final result is preferred, having painted with watercolours in the past has influenced me and I want achieve the “wet in wet” look, but of course colouring book paper does not support that ambition 😁 Thanks for covering a wide range of information in your videos ❤️
Thanks, good to know
