I love what I have seen so far with Pokemon Let's Go. I however did not see Jesse, James and Meowth in the game. WHAT?! I was literally wondering if they would ever be in a Pokemon game and THERE THEY ARE! I need to watch the rest of this game.
little part i forgot in this episode, red's technically canon starter is bulbasaur, at least in the manga i believe, so this game follows the adventures manga surprisingly close while still maintaining its own identity.
Technically, Bulbasaur was Red's canon starter in the og games too, if we refer to the illustrations we had, notably the one where Red, Green and Blue face off with their starters, Red having Bulbsaur.
i m sorry my friend those games are not canon in a way...well they are canon but not in the way you think. they are as canon as super mario land 2 or 3. it is not a dream or a play. but it take place in a tv show or a recording or a video game. at the beginning you clearly enter from a real world to a tv. you are literally sucked inside. you are in a dreamlike state when prof chen speak to you. then you wake up in front of another tv and you clearly see that you are not yourself and no more in your own world. because it happens in a tv show nothing matter and anything can append. but what is canon is the world you was in the start, not the one you see curently.
No, it's not. The manga is not the games. The games are not the manga. the anime is not the games, and guess what? The games are not the anime! The anime is not the manga, and the manga is not the anime. Do you understand now? Of course you don't.
The girl is named blue in Japan and "Gary" is green. Because in Japan the first two games were red and green. The Red and blue games came out everywhere else after some fixes. So Canon she is blue and blue does get the Squirtle
@@Am0ri Hi, my name is no one, and I really care about this issue. But seriously, I have no clue why this always irks me...but it kinda does. And I´m sure others do too. You just won´t see any comments from them.
No confusion it's an alternate timeline and universe, like Rick and Morty. Everything still happened how its said, However this is a different universe entirely than what we've seen before. At this time Looker jumped Dimensions during ORAS so you won't see him in this game. How can poketubers forget the main theory they've had common ground with so quickly?
@@Openreality so basically it's a spin off and doesnt matter. Perfect just like the game itself pointless to play and pointless to examine for lore. Seriously who where these games for.
Fun fact(s) The original Pokemon games were Red and Green, the games Red and Blue that we all remember playing is the "undated" version that came out. And in the manga, Red did start with Bulbasure while Blue got Charmander. So the game is right about that part at lest
Actually in America we never got "green" instead it was labeled "blue" here. So for people here the very 1st games were red and blue. There was actually a reason for the color swap that escapes me now, but green in Japan was the exact same game as blue in the US. The only thing that was "updated" was a change in language and minor things thought to make the game more appealing to western audiences. Such as calling them Pokemon instead of Pocket Monsters. In Japan it is known as the latter.
Additional thing about Silver being Giovanni's son: There was a Celebi event in HGSS. I don't remember all the details, but Silver being Giovanni's son was one of the things stated in it. I know this isn't important but I was yelling when you didn't bring it up, haha
Yeah and if you notice that in the battle with archer in hgss/gs, he hears no response from giovanni, but while doing the event, if you beat giovanni, he says to shut down team rocket and exits the cave.
ugh... it was said in fire red and leaf green first... why the fudge does everyone credit hgss for that revelation when it was already confirmed 4 years earlier?
Okay so a few things I find I really need to talk about regarding the Time-Line and other thing: 1 - It was stated in the game that Red and Gary's journey were finished BEFORE Pokedex were a common thing, since Gary mentioned that they had to record Pokemon's info on paper. 2 - Let's Go is its own start, with no relation (story timeline wise) with the original Red/Blue and Gold/Silver or the Origin OVAs. Simply because the whole Team Rocket event happens with YOU, not Red. In the game, we can assume both Red and Gary concluded their journey without the Team Rocket stuff, otherwise that would mean the Silph Co was taken over twice, two Cubones mother died, etc. We also saw those events happen in the Origin OVAs, and the Origin OVAs were both a nostalgic adaptation and promotional videos to introduce Mega Evolution, which would be introduced in X and Y, which launched 10 days after these specials, so we shouldn't really relate those with Let's Go. 3 - To be honest, it physically hurts me to see another "name confusion" in a Pokemon video that was made in 2018. It would make sense back then around Diamond and Pearl, since we didn't have much means of access to the original Japanese versions of both the games and the Manga, nor doing research on these with ease. But this was made in 2018, where it's almost common knowledge to anyone who got into Pokemon, or by doing very light research, that Gary is Green, not Blue (he even wears green in the Specials), and the girl from the Manga is actually Blue, as well as the reasons behind their naming choice and why the names were switched. This just showed the lack of research and info checks that was put into script writing. In the video, the script went crazy over how "Green" got Squirtle in the Manga, while basically ignoring the fact that Red got Bulbasaur and "Blue" got Charmander. They also used said Pokemon in their Let's Go team as a reference to this and the original Ken Sugimori artwork depicting the trio. This was a 2018 video that talks about "Story we didn't know", so more works on research Should've been put into it. Especially the "Green" got Squirtle bit can just be confusing and misleading to new fans.
@@illusionofquality979 Are we talking about the adventures manga or the games? I could say her real name is Marina according to the anime, BUT it's not right because these are counterparts of Kris, the female protagonist of crystal.
the starter mix around with green having sqirtle and blue having charmander is a callback to a promo poster where the three were in a top-down view of each character having the mixed up starters.
ACTUALLY! Green was first created for the original gen 1 strategy guide and was made by the same artist, Ken Sugimori. Also, Leaf was based off her design. I honestly consider Leaf and Green to be one in the same (but alternate world versions of each other). And the reason why it makes sense for Green to have Squirtle is because Green is called Blue in Japan while Blue(Gary) is called Green in Japan since Japan first started with Red & Green instead of Red & Blue. So yeah, Blue/Red didn't do any journey in the games. This is the first time the pokedex was created in Let's Go just like the original gen 1. And if Blue/Red were the original champs then your rival would have needed to beat them. Though the starters are based off the manga.
Green actually originates from the cover of the official guidebook for the original games in Japan, or to more accurate thats where design comes from and she i the real Blue as the Rival was originally Green in Japan. That same cover art depicts Red with Bulbasasur , The Rival withe Charmander, and the Girl with Squirtle. That art is what would later go to inspire the set up of the manga and create the not too uncommon concession that Red's actual canon starter in the games was Bulbasaur since that was how the manga had it ,Official game art showed as much, and none of Red's official teams in game really contradicted the idea, but then Origins happened . However, I've never found any source that ever said Origins was canon just that it was one depiction/interpretation of the games story
In the mange Red's first Pokemon was a poliwhirl named Poli, and bulbasaur or Saur was Red's second Pokemon while pikachu or Pika was the third (shocker). Also, you are right, for some reason Blue and Green had their names switched as I recall Blue was originally named Green and Green was called Blue at the beginning of the manga.
@Shadow of Emiya SAME. If they remake Johto, then get to Hoenn, I will FINE the Pokemon Company for leaving Sinnoh out. I mean, I'm pretty hyped for Let's Go games for Johto, but I want my Sinnoh remakes too. We've been waiting for so long. And I need to thud into people again.
if they ever release a gen 4 remake i will stop playing pokemon just like the last time they released a sinnoh game. i stopped playing for about 8 years because sinnoh sucked so much the first time.
plus sinnoh remakes are 100% unnecessary. so were the hoenn ones they were only made because ythe idea was popular among fans. and it was the exact reason we got no pokemon Z and all the zyguarde stuff was hasily duct taped into the alola games. kanto remakes were necessary. jhoto, also necessary. as neither gen 1 nor 2 were compatible with gen 3 and beyond. gen 3 unnecessary but allowed you to construct a whole national 'dex so a useful tool, even though it harmed gen 6 too. sinnoh remakes would have no real extra use outside of playing once. it's the most contraversial region, a great many fans leaving the franchise after sinnoh was released. and there's not enough fan demand to guarentee it's worthwhile investment for nintendo and gamefreak. if they do actually release sinnoh remakes i'll be surprised. and i'll likely quit the franchise again if they're as shit as the original sinnoh games were. even platinum which everyone claims fixes all the problems with sinnoh sucked. in fact it probably sucked more because of how little it actually fixed despite having the opertunity to fix everything. it fixed maybe 2 of my list of 47 complaints.
Chris bromley-west you stop playing pokemon because sinnoh "one of the best regions in my opinion" was not being up to your standards and came back for Pokemon let's go. You won't be missed.
@@charmedrools1 Pokemon Z was a no go from the start x and y cover basically everything about zygarde.honestly the true form of zygarde is a digimon knock off with more hp. They did gen 6 like gen 5 incomplete story with incomplete Pokemon because as of gen 5 that was the start of incomplete legendary. But regardless of how incomplete the games were I still bought them as a loyal Pokemon fan so if they do a sinnoh remake and you leave because it dont meet your standards.you can stay gone. We won't miss you. because that was one of the best regions in my opinion.
If I'm not mistaken originally Blue was named Green and Green Blue. The change happened because we got Red and Blue instead of Red and Green. But then she becomes Leaf and this is even more confusing! But there is also another female trainer called Yellow but she's not based on game characters, so we have all four colors!
I just thought about something right now. This game links anime, games and manga together. Can we expect the same for the anime (or the manga). Because next year we have a remake of the first Pokémon movie, and this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Green.
@@negativecynicalcriticman1995 dont worry they've only sold 3 million total in all their markets combined which only has them making 90 million off theses games 75 if you low ball them which is barely a jump from their 80 million profit off the ultra sun and moon games versus their over 100+ million in profits from every core game like x&y black and white ect. These games are more than likely going to be shelved as one off mistakes
@@negativecynicalcriticman1995 also that number doesn't count all the pokeball plus accessories that have been sitting in warehouses which can bring the overall profit down as well but Nintendo along with the pokemon community is natorious for covering this shit up until the announcement or release of the next game poketubers cant pedal a failed game as easily as a 'divisive' one.
Because the original games in Japan were Red and Green, your name was Red, but your rival’s name was actually Green (and the girl’s name was Blue, in the manga). When the games were localized, changing from Red and Green to Red and Blue, Game Freak changed the name of your rival from Green to Blue, as to not cause confusion. As a result of this, they also had to change the original Blue’s name to Green, hence her new name. So yes, they did actually intend for Green and Squirtle to line up, but it just never ended up that way. And on that note, as several people have already pointed out, while manga Red’s starter was a Poliwag, he did choose Bulbasaur from prof. oak I believe, while Blue chose Charmander. And on another note, regarding the theory, I believe that there is more evidence that proves that the original Red and Blue story never happened in this timeline. Red, Blue, and Green all did go on an adventure together, years ago, but most likely it was VERY different from anything we’ve ever played through in any Kanto game. Just one thing I remember is that when the player talks to Blue at one point in the game he says something about Oak finally finishing the Pokédex, and that how he used to have to write down everything on paper with a pencil. This statement is completely contradictory to what we know happened in the original Red and Blue games, as clearly Red and Blue received Pokédexes. Idk though. Just some thoughts I had. One thing I know for sure is that Neither Red and Blue not FireRed and LeafGreen happened in the current timeline.
Actually if you remember the manual for the og red and blue depicts "Red" with a Bulbasaur, "Blue" with a Charmander, and "Green" (or a mysterious female character you never see) with a Squirtle. I think this is what they were referencing as in LG Eevee Blue has a Charizard when you fight him in Sylph Co. It's just in Pokemon Origins where Red gets Charmander which was based on one of the creators playthroughs LG the game. But who reads the manual anyway lol
Sabrina, after being defeated, says "I will not meet another trainer like you for 3 years." She's referring to the events of Pokemon Gold/Silver, so Let's Go must be taking place around the same time as Red/Blue/Green, maybe a few months later. Probably not 2 years later.
I don't think the gold and silver remakes will take place right after let's go because if you battle Sabrina for a second time, she says she won't meet another trainer like you for another 3 years referencing the gold and silver protagonist. She is psychic after all.
@@duykhangtran4406 Sabrina says she won't meet another trainer like you in about 3 years implying the a gold and silver game will take place 3 years after Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, not right after.
@@zimonzieclown1633 no, in the video he says the next game might take place right after Let's Go which wouldn't be the case unless it's a completely new region.
I think that the 20th Pokemon movie "I Choose You!" ties into this as well. If you take a look at the hat that Red is wearing, it's the same as the hat of the old man that Ash and the gang 2.0 meet. So that pokemon movie happens AFTER SM i belive, so this is a continuation of the mega timeline, many, many years after SM. But it's debatable if the movies are cannon, so this is gonna be one tricky piece to fit. Wait.. Ash is in the mega timeline lolololol
1st Mystery Dungeon takes place 1,000 years in the future according to the Ginji Manga. Of course then things get crazier with the Explorers games. The Future of Darkness is an endless night, which immediately followed the day you would end up fighting Primal Dialga. Have fun trying to figure out how those 2 relate to eachother in the Mystery Dungeon Series, in addition to the other Mystery Dungeon games.
Has anyone wondered why in the beginning of the let’s go games you or the trainer always looks at their hands and body and look around them and almost look confused, almost as if they don’t belong there?? It’s so weird, they look around as if they aren’t use to this world, my guess is that we (the trainers) were sent back in time which is why we r so confused and it shows us blinking before the vision clears. Perhaps we were in a different point in a later part of the Pokemon timeline and we r so confused why everything looks different, and we think that we have to become the Pokemon master to find a way to find a way back to our own time line, and perhaps this is a different universe which is why we have no mega evolutions... Although when we do we learn that there are more and more regions so we keep on starting new adventures in those different regions in hopes of getting closer to our escape to our own universe and Pokemon timeline, and when we get to sun and moon we find the vortex we think that we can escape, but perhaps u got sent back in time, which is why the let’s go game takes place after Red and Blue and when we were sent back in time we land two years after Red and Blues story. My guess is that this is almost a place where Red never dealt with any of these problems, then the sun and moon vortex we see leads us to that different universe which is why Red does not have a Charizard but has a Venasaur. All I’m just overthinking this way to much.
8:13 I knew it. Actually birdkeepertoby knew it This game isn't connected to origins Red blue and green seem more similar to their manga counterparts Green wasn't in the games before
yeah i don't know why they say it's connected to origins, which origins had nothing to do with this game, and about the pokedex reference that they in the video skipped over.
I don't think the manga has anything to do with it either. Gamefreak had an unused Green design before the manga even existed they just decided to do an old callback and use there old design.
You missed a slight little detail that I feel like is important for this. After beating Sabrina a second time (after the Elite Four) she'll say "There won't be any trainer like you for the next three years" (or something like that, I don't remember the exact quote). The three years part is slightly interesting, especially considering that the entire post game 'story' basically sets up for the Johto events to happen.
Wow, a some of this footage was actually taken from the livestreams! I never knew you guys took footage from there! Crazy that I watched some of this live!! Also, for anyone interested in the stream these awesome lads do: www.twitch.tv/treesicle
I'm sure some one already said this but in the manga Blue and Green's names were switch. Since the first 2 game in Japan we're Red and Green that's what you and your rivals names where. When it was translated and brought to the west they left Red the same but changed Green to Blue since we got Red and Blue versions and not Green version.
To be fair, the blue ( the so called Gary ) in Japan is called green since the first two games there were green and red and only in the rest of the world they changed it to red and blue. So... the girl green in jp is called blue, plus... blastoise is just too cool. P.s. red chooses bulbasaur in the manga, blue ( the guy ) picks charmander
For those confused about Kanto (not sure about the greater universe) Red and Blue completed their journeys in the games Red and Blue, Fire Red and Leaf Green happen after that and it's the story of trainer Green becoming a master, Let's go happens sometime after that, due to Giovani not loving Silver Celebii forced him into a time loop where he would have to re-live his downfall over and over again. Also: Pokemon Gold/SIlver is the story of Ethan Gold Pokemon crystal is the story of Kris Pokemon HG and SS is supposed to be the story of Lyra (the girl trainer)
Nice theory, but after you beat the Elite Four, they say the "Champion" seat is new, and therefore, neither Red nor Blue fought for the spot. There's just more than two universes, which complicates things, but explains a lot.
Pokemon game creators: How does the timeline in our games work? I Donno. We just get high and slap stuff together. Figuring what it all means is the theorists job.
Nah, some things seem based off the manga like red/green/blue, but overall the story is not the same. It follows the manga very closely, and was a really enjoyable ROM.

i don't know if anyone said this so far, but 'green' and 'blue' were swapped for japan. since originally in japan red and green came first. so the rival is named green. while the girl there is named blue. so it makes sense again
They sold half as much as the original b/w, which are the worst selling games of the franchise. That should tell ya something about how amazing they are. (Though the Unova game did have a better story than the other games excluding gen 4)
@@PrimexMaxusTitan Not always but they are a pretty damn good indicator of people's interest in them. Which, as far as I'm concerned, if very few people buy It, there must be something wrong with it. Also game quality is subjective but sales gives an objective value to the interest and therefore *percieved* quality of a game. If not many people think it's "amazing" or even good/worth the money, then not many people will buy. But yes, sales number don't directly Say anything about the quality of a game. But It IS a clear factor. In the case of a sequel, it certainly says something about what people thought of the first opus.
Unova is weird. Battles are sweet, addition of reusable TMs is neat, they have came up with a bunch of really cool pokemon, N is intersting, Ghetsis is probably one of the darkest antagonist and yet there is something off about it and I can't put my finger on it. It's an odd game.
Lol bugs me a bit too. To the creators she's blue but everyone else holds to what they got because of how the games came out outside of Japan. Would be a bit weird to change it after this much time but bleh
13:00 - she's called green cuse of the localizers japan's release: red and green (then blue and yellow) america's release: red and blue (and yellow, but not green) this is reflected in the manga: pokemon manga in japan: main character (red), rival (green), girl (blue) pokemon manga in america: main character (red), rival (blue), and girl (green) you can guess what happened when i unknowingly switched between the japanese translated version of the manga and the english localized version of the manga.
More evidence that green definitely stole squirtle is that in the beginning when you visit oaks lab one pokeball is missing. And that pokeball is squirtle because the middle one in Kanto is always squirtle.I probably didn’t word that great but I hope you guys know what I mean
The only problem with the whole "girl's name not being Blue making no sense" is that her name IS Blue in the Japanese version of the manga while rival Blue is actually Green in both the manga and games. The only reason our versions of Red and Blue are that way and not Red and Green is probably marketing reasons. Blue was their updated third game with new sprites and some fixes. Our Red and Blue got those updates but used the rest of the data from Red and Green.
Or, ya know... the more likely and simpler option (since it wouldn't force Game Freak and Niantic to stick to pre-established canon)... That there's a seperate "Go" universe that just so happens to also have Mega Evolution. We already know we're not limited to 2 timelines, so trying to force this game into one of them seems a bit silly, especially since it's branded differently.
Oh my god! How did I not notice that this game not only combines the pokemon go world with the console games! But with the anime and manga too?!?! My mind is blown! I've gained a new appreciation for this game now.
*"Blue"* (aka "Gary") is actually called "Green" in Japan. *"Green"* (the girl) is actually called "Blue" in Japan. So it actually makes complete sense to Miyamoto.
Actually I have a different idea on things: Classic Timeline (basic features, smaller games because of the hardware of the systems they were for, the ultimate weapon was never created, so no mega evolution.): RBG/Y--->GSC--------------------------------->? Advanced Timeline(more advanced features, bigger games because the hardware of the systems they were for allowed it. Mega Evolution was also likely not here BUT more events happened than the classic timeline.): FRLG--->HGSS--->BW--->B2W2 RS/E--->DP/P Mega Timeline(Mega Evolution caused by a war and the construction and setting off of the Ultimate Weapon, the original timeline because the energy from the Ultimate weapon created multiple universes which got separated from each other, the space between them being ultra space.): Origins------------------------------------------->XY--->SM ORAS--->DP remakes(?) Let's Go Timeline(Mega Evolution was here as well BUT the events were so far significantly different than the Mega Timeline): Starts with Red's Team Rocketless journey where he didn't capture mewtwo, and he and Blue were entered into hall of fame but did not become official "champions" because that policy wasn't set in place until let's go. Moves onto: LGP/LGE------------------------------------>Potential future "Let's Go" titles. Alternate Sub Universes (alternate universes that are too minor to be called their own timelines because they share the same attributes of the four major timelines making them alternate "sub" universes.): USUM, Ultra space wilds, Ultra Megalopolis, the ones where the leaders of Rainbow Rocket come from, and every single save file on every copy of every game. This four timeline structure and alternate sub-universes make more sense to me, and allows remakes of older games to fit into the timeline at the same time, in different universes.
Gamefreak : Let's throw in a bunch characters from different medias as a fun reference for the kids *UA-camrs : SURELY THERE IS AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE TIMELINE LORE THEORY BEHIND ALL OF THIS*
Actually if you beat Red you gain the title"Battle Master" which means red lost that title What was Red's title at S/M "Battle Master" Which might mean this game is after S/M but still the game takes place in the Manga universe so i am not sure
Haven't battled Red yet, but from my battles with Green and Blue it seems like all three of them are using their manga teams, so adventures is finally getting the recognition it deserves
I know i'm late but the Let's go protagonist do have Initial names. Male Protagonist is Chase and Female protagonist is Elaine. Also your friend/rival has a name as well which is Trace.
Nice try, but no. It's not canon, bunch of other inconsistencies. It's it own thing. At most if it were to be canon, it would take place in another different timeline, not connected with the mega-timeline that we have been in. And Origins was never seen as tying in with the game's canon... ps: Green is bae.
So a little clarification about the canonical names of Red, Blue, and Green. In Japan the first two pokemon games were red and green and the canonical names for the hero and rival were Red and Green. Pokemon blue was an updated version of red and green that came out later and was the basis for the international red and blue versions. This is why if you read the Pokemon adventures manga with the original names in place that the female protagonist is called blue. In short who we know internationally as Blue was Green and who we knew as Green was Blue in the pokemon adventures manga. Also speaking of the manga, Red, Blue, and Green's starter pokemon match what they had in said manga series. It makes me wonder how much stuff will they incorporate from the manga into the games?
lol what is your favourite game my friend bring it out and battle to see which is overpriced =]] Pokemon tbh never an overprice franchise =]]] great game, time and money well spend
About the "it starts at Kanto" thing- in pokemon SM and USUM the main character (Their canon names are Selene or Elio) was born in Kanto, starting the story of SM or USUM in a different region Kanto, not Alola.
The reason green has blastoise is because in the Japanese version blue is named green [cause red and green were first in Japan] and green is named blue it's confusing i know but yeah that's your answer
Green is actually based on an unused female character for RBG, in which the design was later used in the manga. Her personality is derived from the manga. As for how Red, Blue, and Green's adventure started, here's my take. While Green has her own journey, Red and Blue's journey are different in Let's Go. They don't do any of those stuff that had happened in R/B/G/Y/FR/LG. They started their journeys very early from when the game's main story took place. This can be backed up by Blue's statement for not having a Pokedex when he started and that he had to record data manually.
I don't know if someone else said it but it can't be 2 years later because Johto is 3 years later and Sabrina says she won't have another battle like this for 3 years. I would say that it's probably a couple months. But that's just my thought.
Can't say why Special/ Adventures gave Red Bulbasaur, but and Green Charizard, but Blue matches her Squirtle just fine. In Japanese. Because yeah, the rival to Red was initially Green, who we now know as Blue; and the updated third Japanese pokemon game, Blue, meant another protag was interesting for the manga and why not make this one a girl. But when Blue was chosen as the superior version to localize for the US, Red's graphics were updated to match it, and our rival became Blue. Fan translations of the Japanese Pokemon Special manga that do not reverse the right to left panel layout also continue to refer to the girl as Blue and the boy as Green. Officially translated Pokemon Adventures, which flipped panel layout for western consumption, also appropriately relabeled the male rival as Blue and the girl as Green. When I was in the fandom, there was. Ah. A Lot of fighting about which was correct.
Treeesicle, in Japan the female is Blue. They changed it in localization because we didn’t have Green so they changed Blue to be the rivals name. So it still make sense and they do have their colour specific Pokémon
I've been hoping so long for a pokemon game where you play as a young professor oak with old pokeball technology that you see in the pokemon forever movie and instead of a pokedex you fill up pages of your sketchbook like he did in said movie, especially with the Pokemon lets go gameplay and graphics this'd be cool.
I actually like the sound of how these games play out, love that Jessie and James are now canon in-game, and that they're tying the manga into it too. It's almost enough to make me wish I could afford a Switch because these really do sound pretty damn cool.
The important thing to remember is that the main character of the Let’s Go isn’t Red or Leaf. This is more than a remake of Gen 1. It’s more of a game adaptation of the future of the Pokémon manga; where Blue has a Charizard, Green has a Blastoise, and Red has a Venusaur
It makes a lot of sense actually. And there is a detail you did miss. There is a picture frame in the game that shows Spear Pillar from Diamond and Pearl
If you want more of a twist: In the original/japanese version of Pokémon Origins, Blue is actually named Green. Which makes sense, as the original games that came out in Japan were Red and Green. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this "Green" is actually Blue in the Japanese version, but America kept it switched around to go with their own continuity.
This theory is correct, but you have skipped out on certain key details. Blue says in your first meeting that when he, and consecutively Red, didn’t have Pokedex. He said that Oak made him write down facts on Pokémon. It’s also established that Champions used to be crowned in battle tournaments and this was the FIRST time they changed it to the Elite Gour approach. With those facts in mind, Red, Blue, and Green’s journey was drastically different than Origins. In a much older Kanto. A;so, we still aren’t clear on Green’s involvement in the big picture yet. She wasn’t trying to steal anything or use her usual manga tactics, so I think her story will be changed. She also wasn’t feral. She was kidnapped and enslaved by the Masked Man.
wow to think that this game which I didn't even pay attention to till now would end up being so crucial to the lore can't wait to see where they take it in the future

one easy way to tell that it isn't a sequel to the original pokemon red & blue is that at one point blue says that during his adventure the pokedex wasn't invented yet.
Three words for your video and other poketubers with similar content, ITS AN ALTERNATE TIMELINE AND UNIVERSE. I'm glad you bring it up but still others need to know this.
I would like to point out that, at least according to Bulbapedia (I assume they got this info from some data mine or interview), the Let's Go protagonists do in fact have canon names. The male is Chase, and the female is Elaine.
In Japanese Blue is Green and Green is blue. Like our blue, the Gary, is named Green in japan. And that girl is blue in japan, but green here. Japan messed it up more than you even knew.
but....after you beat sabrina she tells you that 3 years in the future a trainer of your power will appear referencing gold and silver which is set 3 years after red and blue but if lets go is set about 2 years after red and blue, then the person sabrina tells you about either isnt "gold" or gold and silver would be set about 5 years after red and blue instead of 3 years
So there is The Standard Timeline, The Manga Timeline, The Anime Timeline, Mega Timeline 1 (Everything seems to happen the same as the Standard Timeline but, Mega Evolutions exist.), and Mega Timeline 2 (Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu and all games that feature Mega Evolutions with influence from the Manga and Anime).

Origins is canon to its own series not the gamesThe manga is canon to its own series, not the gamesThe main games are canon to itself.Lets go is its own canon entirely due to too many conflicts.
Actually, Green's starter does match her name in Japanese. In the Japanese manga and games, her name is Blue, and the Gen 1 rival is named Green. It was changed in English because Pokemon Green was never released in the west, and Red and Blue(the rival) were meant to be named after the two main games, so the names got switched. I love what I have seen so far with Pokemon Let's Go. I however did not see Jesse, James and Meowth in the game. WHAT?! I was literally wondering if they would ever be in a Pokemon game and THERE THEY ARE! I need to watch the rest of this game.
little part i forgot in this episode, red's technically canon starter is bulbasaur, at least in the manga i believe, so this game follows the adventures manga surprisingly close while still maintaining its own identity.
reds canon starter in the manga was poliwag and then he got bulbabsaur as his 3rd pokemon
Technically, Bulbasaur was Red's canon starter in the og games too, if we refer to the illustrations we had, notably the one where Red, Green and Blue face off with their starters, Red having Bulbsaur.
Bulbasaur is confirmed the best starter
i m sorry my friend those games are not canon in a way...well they are canon but not in the way you think.
they are as canon as super mario land 2 or 3. it is not a dream or a play. but it take place in a tv show or a recording or a video game.
at the beginning you clearly enter from a real world to a tv. you are literally sucked inside. you are in a dreamlike state when prof chen speak to you.
then you wake up in front of another tv and you clearly see that you are not yourself and no more in your own world.
because it happens in a tv show nothing matter and anything can append. but what is canon is the world you was in the start, not the one you see curently.

Pokemon let's go confuse ourselves with the timeline
No confusion it's an alternate timeline and universe, like Rick and Morty. Everything still happened how its said, However this is a different universe entirely than what we've seen before. At this time Looker jumped Dimensions during ORAS so you won't see him in this game. How can poketubers forget the main theory they've had common ground with so quickly?

@@zimonzieclown1633 seasom 1 of pokemon reboot if you look for my comment
No because blue in let’s go said he had no Pokedex and had to write Pokémon data on a map.
Fun fact(s)
The original Pokemon games were Red and Green, the games Red and Blue that we all remember playing is the "undated" version that came out.
And in the manga, Red did start with Bulbasure while Blue got Charmander. So the game is right about that part at lest
At least* not lest, sorry I noticed that and it was bugging me
Actually in America we never got "green" instead it was labeled "blue" here. In Japan it is known as the latter.
so what we're saying is this game takes place on the mangs timeline and not in the game's canon. thank you that's all i need to hear.
So technically it takes place in the manga now?
If so.
Does that mean they are going to reboot the manga?
I mean the anime not the manga.
Additional thing about Silver being Giovanni's son: There was a Celebi event in HGSS. I don't remember all the details, but Silver being Giovanni's son was one of the things stated in it.
I know this isn't important but I was yelling when you didn't bring it up, haha
PikaCrafter yeah you go back in time and see a cutscene between silver and his dad
There's also an entry in the Fame Checker in Fire Red/Leaf Green for Giovanni alluding to Silver.
Yeah and if you notice that in the battle with archer in hgss/gs, he hears no response from giovanni, but while doing the event, if you beat giovanni, he says to shut down team rocket and exits the cave.
ugh... it was said in fire red and leaf green first... why the fudge does everyone credit hgss for that revelation when it was already confirmed 4 years earlier?
ua-cam.com/video/19T-UN3igrQ/v-deo.html
Okay so a few things I find I really need to talk about regarding the Time-Line and other thing:
1 - It was stated in the game that Red and Gary's journey were finished BEFORE Pokedex were a common thing, since Gary mentioned that they had to record Pokemon's info on paper.
For johto, they *_Better_* include Crystal. She's the best.
Gotta love how every time you traded, she was changed to a dude lmao

the starter mix around with green having sqirtle and blue having charmander is a callback to a promo poster where the three were in a top-down view of each character having the mixed up starters.
I’m still here in the corner waiting for that Gen 4 remake.

Now we just need to learn how the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games fit into the canon.
An interesting fact in the manga of pokemon red did choose Bulbasaur, green blastoids, and blue Charizard so this could be a homage to that

yeah i don't know why they say it's connected to origins, which origins had nothing to do with this game, and about the pokedex reference that they in the video skipped over.
Also:
Pokemon Gold/SIlver is the story of Ethan Gold
Pokemon crystal is the story of Kris
Pokemon HG and SS is supposed to be the story of Lyra (the girl trainer)

Nice theory, but after you beat the Elite Four, they say the "Champion" seat is new, and therefore, neither Red nor Blue fought for the spot. There's just more than two universes, which complicates things, but explains a lot.

Actually I have a different idea on things:
Classic Timeline (basic features, smaller games because of the hardware of the systems they were for, the ultimate weapon was never created, so no mega evolution.):
RBG/Y--->GSC--------------------------------->?
Advanced Timeline(more advanced features, bigger games because the hardware of the systems they were for allowed it. Mega Evolution was also likely not here BUT more events happened than the classic timeline.):
FRLG--->HGSS--->BW--->B2W2
RS/E--->DP/P
Mega Timeline(Mega Evolution caused by a war and the construction and setting off of the Ultimate Weapon, the original timeline because the energy from the Ultimate weapon created multiple universes which got separated from each other, the space between them being ultra space.):
Origins------------------------------------------->XY--->SM
ORAS--->DP remakes(?)
Let's Go Timeline(Mega Evolution was here as well BUT the events were so far significantly different than the Mega Timeline):
Starts with Red's Team Rocketless journey where he didn't capture mewtwo, and he and Blue were entered into hall of fame but did not become official "champions" because that policy wasn't set in place until let's go. Moves onto:
LGP/LGE------------------------------------>Potential future "Let's Go" titles.
Alternate Sub Universes (alternate universes that are too minor to be called their own timelines because they share the same attributes of the four major timelines making them alternate "sub" universes.):
USUM, Ultra space wilds, Ultra Megalopolis, the ones where the leaders of Rainbow Rocket come from, and every single save file on every copy of every game.
This four timeline structure and alternate sub-universes make more sense to me, and allows remakes of older games to fit into the timeline at the same time, in different universes.
Well this is awkward... I named my rival green.
green huh? morelike dickcheese
Gamefreak : Let's throw in a bunch characters from different medias as a fun reference for the kids
*UA-camrs : SURELY THERE IS AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE TIMELINE LORE THEORY BEHIND ALL OF THIS*
this is very accurate
0:04 that's a bit insensitive to homeless people...
Treesicle is cancelled 😤
Actually if you beat Red you gain the title"Battle Master" which means red lost that title
What was Red's title at S/M "Battle Master" Which might mean this game is after S/M but still the game takes place in the Manga universe so i am not sure
Dank Pokémon timeline.
Haven't battled Red yet, but from my battles with Green and Blue it seems like all three of them are using their manga teams, so adventures is finally getting the recognition it deserves
Pokemon let's go to see a movie or something idk
I know i'm late but the Let's go protagonist do have Initial names. Male Protagonist is Chase and Female protagonist is Elaine. Also your friend/rival has a name as well which is Trace.
Nice try, but no. It's not canon, bunch of other inconsistencies. It's it own thing.
At most if it were to be canon, it would take place in another different timeline, not connected with the mega-timeline that we have been in.
And Origins was never seen as tying in with the game's canon...
ps: Green is bae.
nah not related to Origins but i still see as playing through the game feel like it takes place in the mega-timeline
Actually, Jessie, James, and meowth were in Pokémon yellow. And, red picked bulbasaur in the manga, where as blue picked charmander
Except it's the story we all know, because it's kanto... again
Pokemon is not a baby game 😠 I love pokemon 💞 extremely much thank you very much 😊 it always been in my life and in my 💖 forever

Chase (Boy)
Elaine (Girl)
Trace (Rival)

J.G Jonny Pokemon never is
Pokemon games were always overpriced
lol what is your favourite game my friend bring it out and battle to see which is overpriced =]]
Pokemon tbh never an overprice franchise =]]] great game, time and money well spend
About the "it starts at Kanto" thing- in pokemon SM and USUM the main character (Their canon names are Selene or Elio) was born in Kanto, starting the story of SM or USUM in a different region Kanto, not Alola.
More like the story I never cared about!
Poor Eevee How could you
The reason green has blastoise is because in the Japanese version blue is named green [cause red and green were first in Japan] and green is named blue it's confusing i know but yeah that's your answer
Can I get an early like?
3:36 It's been what feels like ten long cold years, when does the plug end?
I'm 90% sure he was just overanalising the game.
pokemon lets go pikachu on the box cover you can see what looks like the male character from gold + silver. The lets go eevee box art you can see green it looks like. Just look in their eyes and you see the characters. Its underneath the white light part of their eyes.
one easy way to tell that it isn't a sequel to the original pokemon red & blue is that at one point blue says that during his adventure the pokedex wasn't invented yet.
RED
BLUE
GREEN
"Well you see-"
"DAH! FORGET IT."
In Japanese Blue is Green and Green is blue.
Like our blue, the Gary, is named Green in japan. And that girl is blue in japan, but green here. Japan messed it up more than you even knew.
One tidbit you did kinda miss out on is that Blue didn't have a Pokedex, he comments when you meet him about the professor finally finishing it.
but....after you beat sabrina she tells you that 3 years in the future a trainer of your power will appear
referencing gold and silver which is set 3 years after red and blue
but if lets go is set about 2 years after red and blue, then the person sabrina tells you about either isnt "gold" or gold and silver would be set about 5 years after red and blue instead of 3 years
So there is
The Standard Timeline,
The Manga Timeline,
The Anime Timeline,
Mega Timeline 1 (Everything seems to happen the same as the Standard Timeline but, Mega Evolutions exist.),
and Mega Timeline 2 (Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu and all games that feature Mega Evolutions with influence from the Manga and Anime).
+Treesicle 13:00-13:18 Remember the first games were Red and Green, not Red and Blue, so Blue is Green, and Green is Blue hense why in Alola Green is wearing well...green pants. Also in the manga Red had Bulbasaur, Green had Charizard, and Blue as seen here has Blastoise.
Origins is canon to its own series not the gamesThe manga is canon to its own series, not the gamesThe main games are canon to itself.Lets go is its own canon entirely due to too many conflicts.
Dose anyone know if the play thur of Let’s go, played by these guys, is on UA-cam? Or just on twitch?????
In my version lets go pikachu
Main player :Ash
Blue look alike : gary
There cannon problem solved and rebooted season 1
(Mind cruuush)
Actually, Green's starter does match her name in Japanese. In the Japanese manga and games, her name is Blue, and the Gen 1 rival is named Green. It was changed in English because Pokemon Green was never released in the west, and Red and Blue(the rival) were meant to be named after the two main games, so the names got switched. The more you know~
how did you get pokemon red with that AWESOME Gen2 Color!?!? i want to do that too!
Oml, I love your voice! It’s so freaking soothing!
