The only damage I did to my car was playing that song during the cleaning process. My car kept screaming for me to engage the auto-tune ap on my stereo. Didn't help. I was able to remove the mold from my car, but not the cancer from my ears after hearing that. This "song" would have made Kurt Cobain even more depressed. Sincerely, Mr. Car-cleaning musician.
Is it a coincidence that the very same thing happend to my son's car and it is also a convertable Mustang? He went out of the country and his car sat for a lttle over a month before we opened it to start it and found mold everywhere! Thanks for the cleaning tips.
Really great! To repeat a question asked earlier, The bottle I got doesn't read "White or Distilled Vinegar" it just says 'Vinegar'. There is no dilution percentage mentioned. Should I just use it as is? If not, to how many parts water should I dilute the vinegar; keeping in mind, that I don't know if the vinegar is already diluted.
for people watching this i think it's important to consider that fittings of the car interior have reverse sides that are not visible, e.g. the door panel is attached to the metal door, often not by an airtight seal, etc, which means if you wipe the mold off the inside of the door, the door itself has many inner surfaces that may be coated with mold and you're gonna be breathing that, if so.
+Butane Stove I just detailed a car that had this exact same issue. I didn't use vinegar but rather all professional products. Problem is, just as you stated, there are surfaces that are coated with spores on the opposite sides of door trim, dashboards, etc. While the carpets ad upholstery and every visible surface have be thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and deodorized, there's still a mildew smell. IDK why this client even purchased this vehicle but I would have certainly left it where I found it at. What a great first car for your son. :-/
Wow! Thank you for this video.. We have convertible be that has been sitting for a while.. Rain got in it from damaged top.. Now it has mold in it just like this car. Been weighing heavy on me on how to remedy it without getting ill from exposure. A mask is definitely a must and gloves. Going to the store this evening to get some supplies. Thank you so so much for this video!! I'm hoping this will do the trick. Just to be safe gonna do it again after the first round,.. May use vinegar again or pure hydrogen peroxide which I heard also kills the spores too.
+Craig Roberts Hope this has helped you as it helped me. It hasn't came back either in my car so far and it has been quite a while ago. I think it also happens if they sit for a while and not be used. Take care my friend...Tony
Yes this absolutely worked!! Thank you. We used all same things except we used sponges to help assist in deep cleaning. 2nd round we also used a dab oflaundry detergent with vingar to clean seats. Took about 45 min. This worked. And the vinegar was only a faint smell. Came out beautifully. Better than I expected.
I know this is old but my 01 sunfire was in my garage for about 6 months and I finally looked inside and saw the mold. I looked up how to clean it and this was the 3rd video. Glad to see you actually did the work not just tell people what to do. Would have liked to know how much scrubbing it took tho.
+skinlalateam The video is what I did and haven't had any mold since video was made in 2012. My daughter has had it since 2014 and it still looks awesome. I hope this answered your question.
Vinegar and or Borax works for porous materials, That's what I'll be using when I clean my Lincoln, I'm going to start with a glass cleaner with ammonia then when that is dry I'll be using vinegar, then the mixture on the carpeted panels and I'll be removing the carpet from the car to use hot water and dawn then scrubbing it down with the vinegar/borax mix then rinse with hot water then another scrub with something that smells nice....I'm partial to french vanilla scents myself. Be sure to test whatever you use on a spot you cant see before using it....If you have leather I recommend rubbing them down with conditioner afterwards.
bobombo1988 The vinegar should have done it. The mold should be killed from applying the vinegar so I would try a good fabric cleaner at this point. The key is in neutralizing the mold so it doesn't keep growing back. I hope this has helped and please let me know the progress. Take care...Tony
In our car which I saturated only lasted a couple days. Another thing happened as well me and my wife smoke and the vinegar totally removed the odor from it. Take care...Tony
I used vinegar on my carpets about a week ago and it got rid of the mold smell but it still smells like relish every time I get in the car.. any ideas people?
The smell should go away. Try letting it air out with the windows down on a nice day. Vinegar is used a lot to get rid of odors. I hated the smell to at first but was way better than having to gut my car. Mold is a bad thing. If I remember right it took a couple weeks for the vinegar smell to get out. But our car was real bad and couldn't get in it at all with the mold smell. We smoked in the car to and the vinegar eliminated that smell as well. Please keep me informed. Take care...Tony
HowYouCanDoItToo thanks for replying man! Yeah I put the carpet fans on and open the windows when I drive but unfortunately the area I live in isn't the safest place to just leave my windows open with the car unattended so that's kinda the problem.. it's better but I still smell it like every time I get in just at first.
Thank you so much for the kind comment. I have another channel skeletone111 where I write original songs. They quality isn't all that good but I enjoy it and when people like you show interest in them it means a lot to me. Take care...Tony
I am standing helpless! Our car has a clean interior (light beige) but has some places with very dark mold spots! We can't clean them even tho we tried with vinegar!
+chrissytal 14 The seats in this car are cloth and worked awesome. As far as the smell it will for a few days but the vinegar smell leaves. I have not had a problem with the mold coming back either. Take care...Tony
HowYouCanDoItToo My 97' Nissan 200SX i had it in the garage for 5 months pulled it out today just to find out it has dust mold all over the interior :( Going to do this weekend. Hopelly i can get it all out

Same w/mine. :( Leaky roof + humidity = mold. Only on those side door panels though.

Another fine tune from Woodstock ⚡️
Yes, that is what I used. White vinegar. You have to scrub it real good.
So what did you do about the mold (and deep-seated spores) that ate into your upholstery?
+skinlalateam The video is what I did and haven't had any mold since video was made in 2012. My daughter has had it since 2014 and it still looks awesome. I hope this answered your question.
+HowYouCanDoItToo Will this work on a cars carpets, or would i have to get to the underlay as well.

Turn the speed to 1.5x and there you go :)
How do you clean out the black mould on fabric? I tried scrubbing with vinegar like crazy but cannot get rid of the black mould. Many Thanks

This is what I call a CCS (Classic Craigslist Special)
what about the mold in the dash?
is it just pure vinegar?
Did you dilute the vinegar with water?
what would you use for fabric seats
Is the vinegar undiluted?
How long the vinegar smell stays in car after this?
In our car which I saturated only lasted a couple days. Another thing happened as well me and my wife smoke and the vinegar totally removed the odor from it. Take care...Tony
HowYouCanDoItToo Thank you for quick reply.
Will try.
Btw, this is pure vinegar in spray bottle?
Not the vinegar mixed with water?
I must throw away my mix then.
And use vinegar only.
liquid is blue vinegar?
If this is straight vinegar, why is the solution blue at 2:40?
mghewitt1 That is the label on the bottle you are seeing. It did look like it though. LOL
You still have mold at 03:06 its a bacteria, so if you just do a half job they will multiple

I've done it before and yes it does. maybe for like a week tho
I used vinegar on my carpets about a week ago and it got rid of the mold smell but it still smells like relish every time I get in the car.. any ideas people?

HowYouCanDoItToo vinegar probably didn’t kill the smoke smell so much as scrubbing every visible surface....
Where can i hear more of your music?
Thank you so much for the kind comment. I have another channel skeletone111 where I write original songs. They quality isn't all that good but I enjoy it and when people like you show interest in them it means a lot to me. Take care...Tony

ChristOnAStick Thank you, this is an original I wrote.
I am standing helpless!
Our car has a clean interior (light beige) but has some places with very dark mold spots! We can't clean them even tho we tried with vinegar!
dave091790 I used something called "Rodalon" here in Denmark, and it worked after a lot of scrubbing with some soap. Haven't seen it since then.
Thank you
Mixing Borax in water is good for killing mold in vehicles.
Thankk you for the video!
What is that god awful sound coming from my speakers?
Let's try this firs Bibster
