Recent NFL Mock Drafts and Bears draft rumors suggest that Chicago and GM Ryan Poles could be targeting an offensive linemen with their 2nd first round pick. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune mocked Washington OL Troy Fautanu to the Bears this week. So did Field Yates of ESPN. NFL Network’s Peter Schrager has the Bears passing on LSU WR Malik Nabers to trade down for Alabama OT JC Latham. Caleb Williams also recently liked a tweet in which outlines the importance of good OL play. Chat Sports host Harrison Graham discusses the latest Chicago Bears rumors leading up to the NFL Draft.
Chicago Bears draft rumors continue with NFL Insider Tony Pauline reporting that Georgia TE Brock Bowers could be a target for the Bears with the #9 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Pauline claims that if the Bears take a “pass catcher” at #9, it will be either Bowers or Washington WR Rome Odunze. The Bears already have Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett in their TE room, but new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron loves multiple-TE sets and Bowers is a special talent that could elevate the Bears offense.
Bears Mock Draft Roundup:
- Brad Biggs: Trade down for Troy Fautanu (OL, Washington)
- Peter Schrager: Trade down for JC Latham (OT, Alabama)

Better Option with the #9 pick for the Bears? OL | WR

I would be happy with anything either a WR, Edge, or OT
Actually I’m fine with OL or WR or EDGE or trade down
'WR'
WR or Alt
I’m happy with anything but wr
A lot of people forget that the great’85 Bears team had 3 or 4 pro bowlers on the offensive line that great season. So it does make sense to get a primo OL.
But I’m old. I want to see a Rome Adumze or a Brock Bowers strike fear in the hearts of defenses league wide😊
All he's saying is that the Offensive line is important. Just showing love to the O-line.
Caleb doesn’t need Odunze to be successful. He’s got Moore… who is a top 7? Receiver. And you got Keenan Allen who at worst (given his age) is a middle of the pack #2. Also, next year you got Tetairoa Mcmillen coming out of Arizona who is better than Odunze. You could grab him next year.
Build the trenches- nothing good happens if you can't pass or run block, don't matter how good the QB is or might be....
Agreed
@@clarkgriswold5818 So you think the Bears will be bad enough to get a highly rated receiver next year?
My assumption is MHJ is gone by #9 but my preference in order is Alt/Odunze/Bowers/Verse. Any other players trade down if possible to 12-14 range and take Powers-Jackson, Bryan Thomas Jr., etc. Offense should have priority in 1st round followed by DL help.
Best O line with a slight trade down if possible. If Alt was there that would be awesome
The issue with taking Bowers at #9 is whether someone like Ben Sinnott in the 3rd will give them 90% of the performance of Bowers.
Joe Alt is going to be a great player 🎯 All pro, I'm with Caleb on that
Yeah, when Notre Dame smashed USC and destroyed Caleb, he had to be upset after the game. I mean, imagine if he was ND starting QB? They would’ve most likely won the Natty or runner up! What I’m saying is, he’s probably tired of not having protection and seeing Sam Hartman look all world , had to of set him a blaze!
@@FrankRizzo7080 yes indeed, I would draft the whole Notre Dame line, it's another white guy on the team that give any sacks,I need to find who's he
Allen is 31. They need a WR to grow with Caleb. PERIOD!
Caleb literally reposted a video of Malik nabers bro
Yeah bro.. Harrison is just reaching for topics now 😆
@@cornellbryant947 that's why I can't wait till the draft is here he is running out of stuff to say
Well we currently have 2 PB caliber players at WR. The last 2 years a strong handful of WRs have been available. We currently don’t have any PB OL. And you almost never see any elite OTs available to sign/trade. That right there is your answer.
And unless an extension happens in two years they have no one capable of being even a true 2 at WR.
If Alt is somehow there, take him. If not, I'm fine moving back and getting JPJ if you go offensive line
Bowers offers more than just a TE
He's also less than just a TE. He ain't going to be asked to block anyone.
I highly highly highly highly doubt any info is being leaked from Halas hall. Literally no one saw Keenan Allen being traded here, no one saw Darnell Wright getting drafted here, no one saw us trading to Carolina, no one saw us trading for sweat. Literally no one has predicted much with poles and his moves. I don’t buy any of these rumors and mocks
You can book Caleb Williams though! For sure he is our pick. #9, you are right about, no one knows for sure. I have a feeling that we’ll move down to around 14-15 get a second round pick in return, and we’ll select Murphy at 14-15. Second round receiver, third edge, 4th double down on receiver or edge! Next year we’ll address center and other positions of need with our 9 draft picks! Playoffs for the next 15 years or so, superbowl contention from ‘26 on every year!
Another O lineman would be nice
I hope they fix the center position
We signed 2 guys there already. We can select a solid center in next year’s draft in the second round with 1 of our 2 picks.
They did
Lathem is a right tackle only
If a Big 3 Receiver is there, take him, if Alt is there take him. If not trade down for your favorite D-Linemen (Turner, Verse, Latu or Murphy) get a little more draft cap
Always draft linemen early. Offense and/or Defense. They make everyone else look better.
If we go o line it better not be Latham because he is a right tackle.
We had the number 1 defense the last 8 or 9 games so the Bears need to finally start getting an offense!! Finally I think we can finally have a top offense so I'm good with WR!! After the top 2 receivers we suck so WR or tackle is fine. Then go defense. Offense has been a nightmare in Chicago!
They have added depth already and while OT is a need, WR is deep and one of the top three will probably be available at 9. We have a lot more draft picks next year and the O-line might need to wait.
I would take a WR so he can get acclimated to the NFL and take over for Keenan Allen the next year.
For sure Brock come on mann
Going two TE sets its not out of line to take Bowers at 9 or in a trade back. That means there's not much fall out when Everett is in. If anyone gets hurt still have two good ones. Ide do it if that's what Waldron wants. I want Alt.
Alt is going to Chargers or Titans
No way are they going center at 9 they just signed 2 if anything we need depth which with a trade down and extra picks we could address it
Really interesting conversation. Historically WR and TE slide in the draft, so I really think the Bears will get a great shot at a top tier skill player. #beardown
No Brock bowers we have two solid TE
I know we have solid te
But bowers and Kemt would be the long term best duo in the league
AGREED
bowers is a generational talent at TE, this is like pairing mahomes with kelce, fuck cole kmet and gerald everett they aren't special cole is solid
Yes, he is a mismatch nightmare.
Next year is the better and deeper edge class. Not going there this year.
Trade up for MHJ/Nabers (technician vs speed). If not that then trade back to get a 2nd rounder. Take Olu Fashanu (CWs HS teammate).
Use your newly acquired 2nd this year and your 2nd next year to trade up for Adonni Mitchell or Bryan Thomas Jr.
Then in the 3rd, go get a C (Frazier), TE (Sinnott), G (take your pick), or DT (Dorlus).
If the Bears want to address the OL with the #9 pick, the most bag for their buck is trade down, and get Powers-Johnson. He’d be a massive upgrade, and nets more gain than an Alt or Fashanu at LT; Braxton is more than serviceable. Is Alt better than Braxton? Sure, but C has been a trainwreck for many years now.
Still love Bowers. I think he is gonna be a star. Can move him all over the field. Heck, he’s as fast as some X receivers in the NFL…
Drafting a tackle at 9 would be a waste of a first round pick. Braxton Jones is a solid starter and underrated at this point.
I don't know he will never be a pro bowl type tackle I wouldn't mind a upgrade.
Wasted pick?? Probably the best linemen in the draft is never a wasted pick. That's insane
The noti gang! Hardest gang in Chicago!
I agree with you 1000% on the wide receiver situation they can always at 75 draft Blake Fisher tackle from Notre Dame you're not going to get a Malik neighbors Marvin Harrison Jr in Rome talent at 75 you can always find a Taco at 75
IMO 4 QB’s, Alt and Harrison are 100% guaranteed to be gone by the time we pick. After that, it’s all guesswork.
If Nabers is there it’s a no brainer!
The bears should try and move up to draft Joe Alt.
If all three WR and Alt is gone by 9.. would you trade down with Washington for 2 early 2nd round, a 3rd round pick and picks from next year (I got 1st and 2nd )?
Yeah #9 should be an immediate upgrade slash starter.
I lowkey love the trade down for JC and still get a solid WR in the 2nd round. Maybe get a third Rd too?
I really don't see a bad choice at 9. You can/will get either an elite WR, OT or DE. I'm fine with all options. Don't really want Bowers, but also okay. I would take the 2nd best OL over another TE
The Bears have assets if they want to move back into the end of the 1st or 2nd rounds. If we draft Alt for example, we could package Braxton Jones with our #75th to get back into the 2nd round to pick guys like Troy Franklin or Roman Wilson at WR. Or at DE for guys like Darius Robinson or Chris Braswell. The 2nd round is where it's at so I hope we leverage some next year's draft assets or a guy like Braxton Jones if we draft Alt to get back into it.
I'd love a whole episode of Harrison trying to decipher memes.
Our O-Line is going to be better than last year with all the same guys😅
The center is new😮
Can not pass on wide Receivers on pick 9 need to get the best one left
Why are you guys so hung up on receivers? Moore and Allen are what? Probably a top 5-7 WR duo in the league? I get going for a receiver if we had Fields still. But those two plus Kmet is more than enough for Caleb to flourish initially. Look at what Jordan Love did with literal who receivers… and Caleb is far better than Love talent wise. I think it makes more sense to go for or a receiver next year once Caleb has his feet underneath him fully.
Exactly everyone wants to talk about the 2 probowl receiver's we have and one is a rental at 32yrs old we need another top tier receiver
@@chef-2117 The rental in Keenan Allen will be at minimum a more than serviceable #2. The move for Allen is clearly a stop gap for just this year, and then you get a stud receiver next year. Go check out Tetairo Mcmillen out of Arizona. Dude is a beast with an insane catch radius. Poles could be eying him. A stud like Caleb will be able to flourish with Moore, Allen, and Kmet for now. Look at what Love did with literal nobody receivers in Green Bay, and Caleb is far more talented than Love is.
DO YOU REALIZE THE BEARS HAVE TWO RECEIVERS ON THE ROSTER THAT HAD OVER 1200 YARDS LAST YEAR IN THE PROS. BOTH TOP 11 IN YARDS..
HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT KEENAN ALLEN OS A RENTAL. WHAT IF HE LEADS THE TEAM IN RECEPTIONS NEXT YEAR.HE HAD 100 RECEPTIONS IN 13 GAMES LAST YEAR
It its not Alt at #9 and we trade back then would want JPJ over the tackles
A+++
Simply said, if the top 3 WR’s are gone as well as Alt trade down to no lower than 15. Take an Edge, Bowers or JPJ.
3:39 what does Nate Davis has to prove?
Drafting a right tackle might be the dumbest thing this franchise can do. If you want to trade down to take offensive line, trade down and get a left tackle or center.
Theres only 2 real choices for LT; Alt of Fashanu (and the latter is not an immediate starter), the rest are right tackles or will end up as guards.
Well, this franchise and it's fans are pretty dumb.
Ryan Bates is the starting center not Shelton!
USC didn't lose a game last year where the defense held the opposing team under 30 points. they were involved in quite a few shoot outs. We should draft an Edge, fill a major need and make it so all the pressure isn't on Caleb. I do want to pick up depth at OL but we can do that with our 3rd or 4th round pick, there will still be quality guards at 4 this year, its deep at Oline.
Getting Alt at 9 would be a blessing. Or Odunze. I’m ok with Bowers as well.
I know the Bears have traditionally always been defensive run kind of team and that is the culture that we had. But Poles and the rest of the coaching staff was brought here to change that culture. Having a serviceable offensive line and offense doesn't cut it anymore. We need to invest in offensive line if we ever want to have a decent offense in Chicago and that's what they were brought here to do
Being of the bald type I am with toothless - makes sense to me
Poles is not drafting a right tackle.
There are 5 players, I would take at 9... In order... Alt, top 3 WRs, and Brock Bowers... Why a TE... It takes 3-4 years to develop a TE... We would be so ahead of the curveon those 2-3 TE sets
I understand the allure to draft a receiver. And I think at some point we will. But we NEED an edge to pair with Sweat. Last year was an overwhelming case for that. Sweat stayed healthy last year, but that's not guaranteed. If he gets hurt and we don't have another elite edge rusher.... How good will our defense be?? Need a reminder of the games before Sweat? Receiver class is DEEP. There's plenty of quality later. But not at edge. Bowers is a D. It's only because Bowers is that good that I don't give that luck an F. We have MUCH bigger needs. Wouldn't be upset with o-line to protect Caleb either
The good playoff teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and the 49ers one thing they both have in common is that they both have outstanding tight ends and Brock Bowers could be ours and it would be a big mistake not to draft him the teams in our division have really good tight ends and we need a Travis Kelce are George Kittles and if we picked up Brock Bowers we will have the best tight end in our division
Keenan is old and odunze will be a good long term
I would use Bowers as a WR hybrid like Deebo who can also line up inline. Line him up in back3foeld and motion him out to all suffering spots. He could line up wide and block on screens. I would use him as WR 3 with all those other options,so many possibilities.
We need several players Caleb and marvin Harrison jr. Oh my
I'm probably one of the few people who thinks Braxton Jones is not a bad player. Jones only allowed two sacks last year. I'm more concern with Nate Davis than Jones. I would take a receiver to grow with Williams.
Still think the bears need to trade up from marvin harrison junior or if at nine room odunze Dallas Turner or Joe alt.Is there that we take them at number nine Bear down
If MHJ is there WR if not OL or trade down for more picks
You’re hitting on your pick if you go with Bowers. Yes, he’s a good blocker.
All i know is the bears NEED to draft offense at 9
Hell yeah now we talking common sense. Let's get offensive linemen who actually block😂. I'm an olde Bears fan and i want our QBs to read defenses while standing in the pocket instead of running for their life 😂
WR… they can’t afford to pass on WR in top of draft! Keenan Allen isn’t long term; he’s in his 30’s and has 2 more good years at best if lucky! You have to reset the WR room with a rookie stud!
How many good LTs are there in the NFL? 10? 12? How many good receivers are there 40? 50? Franchise LTs are much more scarce. The Bears can get a good receiver in the 3rd round, they certainly aren’t getting a franchise LT there.
The only excellent LT is Alt, after that the others are suspect. Alt won’t make it to us at 9.
@@attilasuto6013exactly and you can get decent OT at 75
Mans need lineman ASAP
No, not a good idea. I don’t think anybody should allow Caleb dictate who to pick at #9 , I think we should concentrate on left tackle or guard to protect our generational quarterback, And try to acquire more talent ! We need to acquire the protection his behind , or he might be running for his life like he was doing in college !
Our oline is solid, the guards are good and we have Bates as a backup, Borom for T. We need a wide receiver, because after Dj and Allen we got nothing, and Allen is 32 and constantly missing games!
If Caleb was smart he wouldn’t publicly say who he wants the Bears to take. It could be seen as a shot against the person currently in that spot and if the Bears don’t draft that position Caleb is still gonna have to work with that guy. They’re professionals so they’ll get over it but just a bad first step.
Trade down grab an o line then draft a receiver and edge with the next 2 picks
Lets not forget defense otherwise we will be in a shootout with the other teams we need a top 5 defense
All day take the best LT and when keon drops wr fl. St. Take him . big boy that can catch.
If Odunze is at nine take him.
I agree with aaroncathey - this is Caleb showing that he thinks offensive line is important - after all, their job is to protect him when he's in the pocket looking for where to throw the ball.
Trade down. Pick up extra picks.
This ain’t fantasy football, oline and dline should be the priority
Go alt , then trade Braxton Jones for a extra pick . Get another pick without a trade down.
Bowers is growing on me. Kinda of a stud, could move him all over the place.
He is stud My favorite player but wouldn't pick him at 9 Too many needs
TAKE ONE OF THE 3 WR ----WE ARE NOT DEEP THERE ONLY TWO AND IF ONE GETS HURT. LETS HAVE A MODERN OFFENSE FOR ONE TIME. IF ALL THE WR GONE EITHER ALT OR VARSE.THIS IS OUR LAST BITE AT THE BLUE CHIP APPLE HOPEFULLY------ HAVE ANICE RUN OF TEN PLUS WINS FOR DECADE A MEDICORE DRAFT SPOT. IF THE BEARS DO DRAFT DOWN NO LOWERT THAN 15-BUT NOT WILD ABOUT THAT. . I WOULD NOT MIND TRADING TWO SECONDS FOR HARRISION
I'd just like to point out that the Bears have been filling every single position I said we needed for a QB to be successful 😂 all the debates I've been in on this channel have proved me to be correct if even our front office sees it lol
The video is of rapper Lil Yachty opening up his set at Coachella I believe or another festival 🐻⬇️
I agree with Caleb. You can't throw him out there with crappy o line protection. He will be rookie assuming bears pick him at 1. Which everyone says yes
I like Brock. You are right Waldron likes to use multi-TE sets. Could happen
Wish list in order
1: MHJ
2. Dallas Turner
3. Odunze
4.Nabers
5.Trade down for Latu
6.Trade down for Verse
7. Trade down for JPJ
8. Joe Alt
9. Trade down for Fashanu
The video is a Lil Yachty opening at lyrical lemonade summer smash music festival. The AI is called Viggle. It’s just a hype thing
Why does anyone go by what Mock drafts say, those are just opinions, no one knows anything until Poles pulls the plug, again Mock drafts are just someone’s opinion??????
Can't go wrong with Joe Alt
Been saying take OL for months
Not sold on Davis and Jones
Jones is solid, Davis had a tough year with his mom passing during the season. We have Bates to back him up. We upgraded the center position for 2 years. I think wr is the most important because Allen misses games every year, next is edge.
Trade back to 11 to take OL and use pick from trade to draft Brenden Rice
If my name was Ted Crews, I'd change it immediately.
OL
Bowers at 9: A-
Keep it simple. Caleb + trade up to 4-5-6 and grab MHJ. We have extra picks next year to use to move up. Go for BLUE players only.
OR
Trade down (far enough to get a FIRST next year, and take either an OL or WR. Both are abundant in the first round.
No one wants your picks next year for MHJ, literally no one.
If no top WR go OL.
Both lines need work, or we’re not going to see the playoffs & Williams will have just as hard of a time as Fields.
1/2 of the snaps last-year were awful.
WR
4 me if we don't trade back 2 get mhjr and all 3 top recievers r gone u GOTTA trade down....olm wr dlm r the 3 NEEDS
Hey guys "wait for his dresses"👗 💄😂😂😂 straight fluke joker card is in effect in Chicago can't wait to see how he takes a hit let's see if he can adapt like Fields and shake em off 😂
Brock Bowers addresses both issues.
