Moving up from #9 (or #8 if the league spanks the Falcons for tampering) to #3 will cost a lot. Is MHJ that much better than Rome Odunze? If it were up to me, I wouldn't give up next year's first for MHJ.

If there was that much of a drop off to the next two receivers I might consider that trade but, not with Nabers and Odunze in the same draft. I just don't see them trading up. There are too many great options that can still be there at 9.

Their board at #9 should look like this: MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, Alt, Turner and maybe Verse. If somehow none of those people are available and you have an offer to trade back and get an additional 2nd or 3rd Rd pick, you do that. Stay in the Top 15 though and then go edge or DT. Then use the additional pick on a WR.
Maybe let’s just wait until Thursday and we will see why so much speculation😂

All it takes is for one team to get aggressive and trade up ahead of the Bears and then a premium player will fall to the Bears at #9. If not, trade down and add draft capital. Either way Poles sits back and watches and waits… should be fun Thursday night!
I would do it only because next years draft is not real deep on offense. I think next year is a super deep draft on defense so yeah…I’d probably consider it.
Take Alt or one of the 3 receive rs if available, otherwise trade down for defense in round 1 and pick up code receiver in round 2.
Pretty sure Houston would re-do the deal they did in 2023 again if given the chance, even though they have no 1st rounder this year. If it worked out, the Bears could be picking after 15 next year so it’s not a massive loss given the two second rounders.

Why on Earth would the Bears move up to three? That is the neighborhood where you can draft Drake Maye or JJ McCarthy, so you know the number three pick is going to cost a premium. Any team moving up into the top five to be in a position to draft a top young quarterback is going to have to pay a massive premium to do so. The Bears would have to pay a similar price as the Vikings would have to pay if they decided to move up to three and draft Drake Maye or JJ McCarthy. I would prefer the Bears to move up to seven or eight to ensure they can draft a receiver like Nabors or Odunze. It would be far cheaper.
I would only make that trade with NE if MHJ is a randy moss or calvin johnson type prospect

The Bears need to draft offense. This shouldn't even be a debatable decision. This draft favors offense and the Bears have one of the worst offenses in the league. They have invested in the defense now it's time to protect and help you rookie QB!
