Marauder looks like a player with 100+hours on both dark souls and bloodborne
Nah, we don't wear armor that heavy in dark souls. We'd probably go naked with UGS for quick rolls. And Bloodborne only has clothings, no armor aside from the skinny armor from cainhurst.

What I just found out: instead of fragging him with the grenades also use the explosive shotgun! Works very well because he doesnt shield the explosions and also he doesnt care for the sticky grenades
@@Appoxo true, i killed him without SSG/Ballista in 5th Slayer Gate just jumping around vertically and spamming grenades and sticky bombs and suddenly he was flashing blue/orange for GK

after i learned how to play Doom eternal, the Marauder became my favorite to fight. He's smart, fast and takes things personally. what else do you need for a good opponent?
InspirationTuts I completely agree. At first I hated him but once you know how he and his hound work I look forward to the challenge especially with other enemies thrown in the mix.
He's meant to act like another player which is why he's so fun. Once you learn how to weapon swap combo hi it feels so good that you can defeat this boss in like 30 seconds!

he was once a pest and i was praying i wouldnt run into him but after learning the tactics i keep hoping that i do run into him, in fact the mission selects i keep redoing so i can just get to pawn him :)
Crucible is nasty and all, but I'm still a little disappointed that you can't kill him with the chainsaw. I mean that was in one of the trailers and it got me so hype, only to find out you can't give him the ole Rip and Tear, Earth style.
Yeah i think the game prevents you from chainsawing super heavy foes like tyrants even with three pips.
Also bit dissapointed this isn't a standard weapon but a slayer can dream.
Might be able to do a chainsaw glory kill still when he's staggered

I sandblasted this piece of $hit at this mission with the BFG when the gate opened. What a relief!

Marauder is my favorite demon in the game. It is the most challenging normal enemy.
Titan Slayer I’d rather fight a legion of whiplashes than 1 marauder.
Marauder: uses a shotgun, wields an axe, dodges fast and attacks fast.

The best way to kill a marauder is to shoot him with the tracking rockets,
The rockets ricochet off the shield and are being tracked by the marauder and while he is doing that you shoot more tracking rockets on him. You kill him in seconds
Just use the bomb shot from the shotgun and shoot near his feet. The splash damage kills him real fast
@@bubbalubba3747 that's how I do it and with the upgrade of being able to shoot 5 grenades in a row it becomes a cakewalk to kill the marauder.
quick switch the super shotgun and ballista and he’s dead in less than 15 seconds you can get in 2-3 shots per attack cycle and it’ll take 2-4 attack cycles depending on how many hits you get per cycle
Bl00DPunch 666 when his eyes flash green I hit him with the shotgun, ballista, shotgun and I can kill him within about 30 seconds
Use the remote det, fire next to him, flare flashes, repeat until out of ammo or demon is thoroughly mush
it was already stated in their lore that marauders are immune to super weapons

The actual wording in the Codex is "Resistant" actually, not immune. You can hit him with a well-timed BFG or Crucible, you just need to work for it.

In one arena I used bfg as he was spawning. It then took me only 4 super shotgun hits to stagger him otherwise it takes 8.
Half of the animation looks glitched though, so I hope future patches can fix that. And I honestly wish you can break the Marauder's shield with the crucible instead of being constantly blocked by it. Even if you need to give up one Crucible charge to take down the shield, and another to kill the Marauder himself.
I think the animation is supposed to be used for a normal enemy type, since it's not a normal one, the boss glitched into a different model. I think you are not supposed to kill it with the weapon
Nuh that makes it too easy, it's meant to be a mini boss fight everytime

@@DangerousArmyGuy The shield is made from the same type of energy the sword uses so it's like hitting water with water.

See the top half stretch and glitch out it’s obviously not supposed to happen
On the other hand his bottom half was animated normally, and the fact that it even had an interaction with the Crucible should be evidence enough. If it was an unintentional interaction there would be no slice animation for it at all, i.e. he'll just die period.

Does he have an explosion animation from rockets that kinda got promoted as it read it as that equivalent amount of damage
I figured it was supposed to be his guts spilling out, but he'd be moving fast enough for them to cheap out on detailing them.
You can kill maraudrr easely with the crucible, place him for a glory kill but not do a glory kill just use the cruccible
I think he was pretty close to being dead already by the looks of it.
Feels like there should have been a special animation where you clash blades with him
For everybody watching the video nowadays, it's no longer possible to stagger and kill a full health Marauder with the crucible. You can only kill him with it if he's in his glory kill state and only if you're facing him from the front and the back (sideways attempt to crucible him will result in a normal glory kill).
I'm gonna try fencing him with the crucible when his eyes flash green, he does that when closing in for an axe swing, so the counterattack with the sword should be possible logically, just the matter of reacting quickly.
This is such a cool coincidence! I was literally just screwing around with cheat codes on the mission where you retrieve Samuel Haydens body. I was doing a bfg and cruciable combo through the level for fun and I tried doing the marauder fight with the cruciable only....It didn't work after spamming so i tried grenades and slowing down time with a rune and I eventually got the same animation
Crucible work let's try the berserk RIP and TEEEAAARRR.
Berserk works. It doesn't even care about the shield.

i tried replicating this with grenades only. had to stagger him, bring him to the glory kill state to be able to use the crucible. got the same animation.
tried staggering him with ssg then using the crucible. same thing.
i suppose that the crucible is just a replacement for glory kill in this case.

Maybe not tap battle just have cool animation of crucible vs the axe and them killing him.
Easiest way of killing the marauders is to wait for them to do a melee then super shoty them to get the stun, then quickly dash behind him and aim for the ass lol. Shoot and he will stun again and you just repeat this till hes dead. To simply put, use instant transmission around him with a shotgun to win.

With gangs of Doom Eternal vids out there...This has to be the GOAT FPS out there right now.
Marauders are one of the hardest enemy types I've ever faced in a video game. Sometime it's gets frustrating trying to kill them but I appreciate the challenge and feel good when I finally do kill him. Basically my tactic is to hit him with the shotgun when he charges, stagger him, shoot him one more time and repeat until I kill him. I also through frag grenades in between which I believe help.
watching someone play Doom Eternal with a controller is like watching a living frog getting dissected
The best strategy I've found for him is the super shotgun/ Ballista combo. Hit him with the shotgun first then quick switch to the Ballista for extra damage. Takes him down usually in 3-4 hits.

I was trying this with ice grenades. But in my case, I just couldn't get him frozen. But in watching this video, you're throwing grenades right at his feet. And it seems the marauder just isn't aware of them. The same strategy might work with ice grenades. There's a nasty secret encounter in Taras Nebal involving the marauder. So using the crucible would be ideal.
I think Super Heavies just might be unaffected by ice.
Watching you play Doom Eternal is like watching an old lady park at the grocery store.

The marauder is a complete pace breaker. The marauder doesn’t feel like a doom enemy.
It is some change from the easy demon head cracking. A little bit more challenging. Still Khan Maykr is way harder than it.
That's his job, he's meant to stand up for the weakling demons and let them hit you while he takes your full attention
From a game pacing stance, yes this is true.
From a lore stance: The Marauders are corrupted Sentinels. They are used to fighting demons like the Doom Slayer. Therefore they have the potential to match the Doom Slayer.
@@clayisahottie They're literally the sentinels that trained with Doom Slayer before they had to choose between their king or god. They chose the Karn Makyr.
It's like a well-trained guardian vs a berserker.
Crucible: Exists
Marauder: One shot this you closed eyes casual.
Killing a marauder with a crucible should be an achievement/trophy with how annoying it is to pull off. gg nice video!

Best method is super shotgun followed by a quickswitch to a ballista shot. Yes you can get two shots in on one stagger.

Marauder and Archvile are so good. I'm so glad the marauder was actually tough to beat after all that hype irl and in game. Got chills when he spoke ☠️
Marauder: meh. He's hard but he would have been better as a serious mini boss rather than a common enemy (more in solo levels but instead with 2 stages)
Archvile: He's nice but didn't got the introduction like the trailer showed. On the first encounter I didn't even register him until I looked up a walkthrough and found out that he buffs his comrades.
Marauder was a good boss fight, but as a regular super-heavy I just plain don't like him. Here are my emotions when I see pretty much any other super heavy.

I killed a doomhunter from full health with the crucible yesterday. I had unlimited ammo but it drained 2 ammo despite that. Was funky
And those that tasted the bite of his sword, named him DOOM SLAYER
Well it makes sense, just get him when he can't use his shield. Stun him like you would with his green eyed attacks and then slash. The grenades make it easier since you've got more time
Other people have said that this doesn't work . I tried but couldn't get it to succeed, but I still feel like it should work in theory. Have you been able to kill him using this method?

You can get him with the Berserk like that, but the Cruicible only works as a finisher... which defeats the whole purpose of the cruicible
I am of the opinion that this should be change and is a mistake, or bad game design, hell this is what you NEED in that last level
Neo2266 Probably due to Crucible’s longer draw and attack animation. The marauder recovers from falter by that time. Grenades can solve that issue because by the time the fuse runs out you already have the sword in hands.
I think you can use super shotgun to stagger him,and immediately use crucible.Just guessing tho

Before I got the unlimited ammo cheat I would spam the sticky grenades around him and it would hurt him even if he had his shield up

If you use your flame belch your grenade launchers and missile launchers from the assault rifle all at once I found he actually gets demolished

It makes sense for Marauders to avoid the crucible since they were former night sentinels and know how devastating the sword can be
I just had this on my mind if it was possible.
Witnessing this being attempted with a controller is really much bigger of a headache haha
Also, it appears you got it when he was staggered. I tried this and i get the same animation only when staggered. The sword does nothing against him. The explosion of the grenade obscured the glory kill lights.

Target lock RPG just annihilates him for me, he can’t block them all surprisingly
I don't have this game (I'm broke) but from what I've seen and heard, if you make him stagger, you can Crucible him. I have a theory:
1. Bait him into doing his charging axe move(his eyes glow green and he goes to attack).
2. Hit him with a Ballista or a Super Shotgun shot (grenades can damage you if you're too close) to stagger him.
3. Once he's staggered, pull out the Crucible, and slash as fast as you can.
Nice video. I use the shotgun on mastery and just launch shotgun grenades on Mauraders. It is effective.
lol so for the secret encounter here with the marauder, I just ran away bc I was low in ammo and then he just died on his own and it said secret encounter complete lmao
I got lucky swinging once and was able to slice him up without any distractions
It would be cool if the Slayer and Marauder got into a Sword vs Axe fight
Best Way is still killing him via splash damage when using the rocket launcher. That works fine.

well the marauders bio does say that he is resistant to superweapons it can still be killed with them its just insanely difficult to pull off better off luring him into striking you then hit him with the ballista quick switch to super shotgun hit him with that and if your quick enough switch back and blast with the ballista again

ballista and then switch to the super shotgun, I can give him 4 hits if I catch him well, with that it takes just one more super shotgun/ballista round and you kill him. Fastest way I have for now.

The marauder should of been 1 individual foe who fights u multiple time throughout the story, whenever u defeat him, he escapes and comes back later on. Like the Warden Eternal from Halo5. That scene where u talked to doomguy before their' first fight made him felt so built up as a demon, an ex sentinel knight who wants to stop u ... the fact there's multiple like him ruins everything built up around him
Honestly, *THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN EXACTLY* what should've been done with him and/or the Doom Hunter.
I mean I got no probs with the idea of a disgruntled group of demonic ex-club members...but still.
I play ultra-violent and the weapon I found to work for me is sticky bombs launch them around you and use the aoe and falter to wear him down till he flashes then finisher

Hmmm it looks like the falter from the grenade is very short! I have to wonder (and test xD) if shooting a Ballista when he's vulnerable than dashing while switching to the crucible would work and in that case would probably be easier!
You can also kill him with the crucible by waiting for his axe swing, shooting him and then quickly pulling out the crucible and swinging. This is also not an easy animation to get, because you have to everything fairly quickly.
Ballista Super shotgun and Plasma gun's heat blast (Level 3) all together can stun-lock him and kill him in a couple shots

I always got him with the super shotgun. I run away, dodge, shoot and then shoot once again. Repeated it 6-7 times and then he was dead.

I was able to time the swipe with the flash of his eyes and did it that way before
Not sure it was supposed to happen but in one level, I can't remember which, when a door opens to reveal a marauder and a few enemies I bfg'd the fkrs as soon as the door opened and it killed everything and insta staggered the marauder, straight to the glory kill. Dead within 3 seconds.

They should let you right click (punch) when his eyes flash green then use the crucible.
