Thanks for the great video. I just finished my brakes. It was nice not having to walk back and forth several times to figure out I needed a 14mm and 17mm socket, and a 9/16” wrench!
Great video man! Camera angle is great to clearly see your work. Definitely gonna follow along when I need to change brakes. Did you get ceramic or metallic pads? How thin before you need to change the rotors?
Thanks for watching! I have the link for the Wagner brakes which are ceramic in the description. The rotors are stamped with the minimum thickness, a simple digital caliper helps.
If you're finding yourself having to squeeze the caliper pin back in, you prolly should pull it back out and clean out the bracket. Slide pins should slide almost effortlessly.
Got a question for you sir, would i be needing to open the brake fluid cap by the engine area or no? Im guessing thats only if im changing the brake fluid correct? Thanks for your help!!
why no more scion xb videos from your gen 1 model ? i got a two 06 scion xb....did you get rid of the car or just moved on to new cars? let me know. i liked your videos but would like to know if you done anything else... ttyl
@@OilandGears what grease do you use on the slide pins? need to get me one of em i only use what they put inside the box of the brake pads for the noise silenced clips.

Glad I was able to make it easy for you.
14mm 17mm socket , 9/16 wrench, grease, wire brush, C-clamp, digital caliper..check
Subbed. This video helped me with a 2015 scion xb. Much love brother. ❤
Appreciate the support!
Just bought a 2010 and she's sooo grindy. Thanks for this vid.
Got the brakes done!!! Thanks again.
Awesome, always double triple check everything.

Thank you for the tip.
Great video.
I always push the piston closed before even removing the caliper makes it faster. Just dont let someone press the brake pedal lol.

Hello! No, you will not need to open the cap unless you are draining or filling the reservoir.
@@OilandGears - i really appreciate your help!! Attempting to do mine today. Thanks again! 🤙🏼
How did u get the piston to go back so easy
Use a C clamp with a flat surface like a piece of wood and squeeze the piston back. It should be fairly easy to move.

I still have it, ill be adding some more mods in the future
Would this be the same as a 2010 scion tc
Is there only one brake in the front or are theyre two for each side ?
Two pads for each side
@@OilandGears ok perfect. Thank u so much. !
Just changed my front breaks disc n pads but now I hear squeaking when I press down on the breakers to the driver side what is going on ?
You may want to check if there is any debris that's in the brake pad or if your rotors that need to be changed.
How important is it to put grease in all the areas u applied it? Will it be ok if i dont use any grease? And what areas is grease most necessary?
It's important to add grease because you don't want your brakes to lock up. The areas I added it to are important.
Some love coming your way ❣️
I really appreciate it!! More mods coming soon!
why didn't you use the old pad to push in the piston. both do the same thing better risking old then new
I will do that next time but I was thinking of maybe doing a whole new brake job
@@OilandGears thats good bro! cannot wait to see it great videos!

I went to autozone and used some multipurpose grease.
@@OilandGears appreciate it bro. glookz
You need some Milwaukee grease 😂
🤣
Easy...but you didn't use a torque wrench for ANYTHING.
That makes it easy. Most people don't have a torque wrench, so seeing this done without was helpful.
What what’s the c clamp for?
Use it to push the piston back in from the caliper.
Boom! Thank you
Do you pop off the brake reservoir cap before pushing the piston back in?
✌
Isn't the piston screw in instead push (press)
The piston needs to be pushed in so that it fits with the new brakes. When you apply the brakes it presses the brakes towards the rotor.
