    This all looks so great and lovely, but this is another video when there is a mom of a girl or girls living the life of harmony and pastel colors. I have a toddler boy and whatever I do, he would just want to burn the world with fire and play with cars, scissors and dinosaurs. My dream to have this kind of peace and harmony ^^ love!

    Hey all! Thanks for watching. I have to apologise for the mic problems and unpleasant banging at the beginning of the video... NOTE TO SELF: Don't place mic in your lap where it can be hit every time you move your hands around! LOL! Anyway, it doesn't last for the whole video thankfully so hope you enjoy! :)

    I love all of these items in our playroom. In the US you can get metal vehicles that are really durable and realistic , which is a good alternative to plastic! We got many plastic vehicles for Christmas from grandparents though. I’ve gone through a major declutter and will no longer buy plastic, other than animal figurines!

    • @ThisFamilyThing
      @ThisFamilyThing  3 роки тому

      Yes metal ones are great. We have a few of these too. Some we found at charity shops with a bit of a vintage feel, a few paint chips but still awesome condition and perfect for play. Good luck with the declutter, always feels so good afterwards! Thanks for watching. X

    Thanks for a great video! Can you please link the small parts you have? The ones we've seen seem pretty pricey! Also, can you please link the two handled magnifying glass you have set up in the background?

    I came across your channel today and I am so amazed! Everything looks stunning! I love watching your videos.
    Could you please tell me where I can find that transporter and those baskets where you keep the Grapat pieces? Thank you so much.

    • @ThisFamilyThing
      @ThisFamilyThing  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Sabine. Welcome! Thank you for the kind comments. Yes the baskets are a set of three with cute little lids too and these are IKEA. The transporter I got second hand but it is a Melissa and Doug one. If I can find the links I will post them for you. Are you from UK? x

    I love this video and I enjoyed very much. I just want to let you know one of the minerals in the natural loose part tray seems like a type of softer metal and you wouldn’t want your child to hold it without washing hands right afterwards since it can rub off on their hands, it is so shiny and pretty and it’s rainbow is magnificent, you can put it on a shelf or make an ornament out of it and place it somewhere where the kiddos can’t reach it. Have a beautiful weekend! Thank you for sharing this toys this was very helpful.

    Another great video Kayla, it’s so lovely that you share your knowledge and understanding on all these things, it’s so helpful and inspiring, especially as you mind other people’s children also. It’s so true, these are all of Eva’s constant favourite things too.

      ❤️❤️❤️ They are the constant favourites for sure. It's always do easy to get overwhelmed with toys and sometimes offering the simple favourites and basics is just as good especially for those with limited space and money. Love to you all xxxx

    Really great to see you back again on UA-cam! I always enjoy your down-to-earth videos. Our number one toy is cars/trucks! My son just can't get enough of them. A close second is loose parts. Wondering where you got your grapat pieces? Thank you!

    Hey! Love this list, it's so helpful. I'm considering a rainbow after your recommendation. Could I ask how your daughter played with it when are was 10-12 months?

    • @ThisFamilyThing
      @ThisFamilyThing  2 роки тому +1

      In this early months she would transport it, moving it from place to place and exploring it with her hands. As she got older she would colour match with it, stack it and use it in small world play. Not every child will use it in the same way, it's just one of those items that can be played with very differently in an open ended way.

    Do you have any recommendations for toys between the 8-12 month time frame?

    • @ThisFamilyThing
      @ThisFamilyThing  11 місяців тому

      Yeah absolutely. The age where they can move around usually. When Mia could sit, reach, Crawl etc, she loved baskets. I filled them with all sorts of natural items. Whisks, brushes with different textures, sponges and silks, little pots and blocks, pinecone etc. Just Google treasure baskets and there will be lots of ideas. Its endless! Things they can handle basically, touch, feel, different weights and sizes for their little hands. They can move them around and transport etc. Hope that helps.
