- Todd Tuckey made this video for Dave at ALLTEK SYSTEMS who has saved hundreds and hundreds of Bally and Stern Pinball Machines made between 1977 and 1984 with his newly designed PCB boards. These replace the battery damaged Logic Board, but also the new Lamp Driver boards that will support the new LED lights we all now use on the playfield, and a new Solenoid Driver board along with a Bally Tester too! I filmed a wraparound beginning and end to showcase the separate video Dave will use on his website (with his permission) and I think you ALL will learn quite a bit watching this! Another great TODD'S TIPS!!

Did this addition to my Silverball Mania and made a BIG difference it how it looks. Thanks for the video and good pictures in where to attach it to.
Very lucky people are still making boards for these machines.
Yes....so many games saved from the junkyard because of Dave!
Great instructional video! Keep them coming!!
Thank you!
I’ve watched all your videos Todd... binge watching maddess!! Keep it up man Lots of love for you guys here in the UK 🇬🇧 🙂
Glad you enjoy them...please take a picture during your binge watching of you and the screen...and I will post it on a future video...it drives my haters NUTS with rage!
Thanks for the hands on!
:-)
Just bought one of these boards. Comes in Monday. looks like my Embryon will be alive shortly!!
Just ordered lamp and aux lamp boards for my Cybernaut, on which the lamps driven by the aux board regularly go dim due to cold joints on the connection pins (push sideways on the connector and the lights get bright again). I could reflow them, but if I'm going in to take the board out I may as well take out both and get some nice color-matched LED's to go in as well. I'll keep the original as spare.
Excellent video - gave me everything I needed to know on this upgrade.
I would agree!.
GREAT video
Thank you!!
Great product.
It most certainly is!
I picked up a Baby Pac Man as my second game a last year and thought it was weird that the game didn't have any batteries. That was my quick introduction into the world of Alltek boards. Little did I know how fortunate I was to have such a nice board in the system.
Yes...you obviously got a newer Alltek logic board without the battery backup!
That obvious fake laugh from Frank @3:00 and Todd's reaction had me in stitches! The Odd Couple of Arcades!
This said it's in color but it's still black and white. I'll be calling Viewtone and give them a piece of my mind. Stellar work todd
Thanks David!
Music in the end was cool
I put one of those light driver boards in my Strikes and Spares
I am guessing you added LED lights too.
TNT Amusements Inc, yes LED lights added.
Thanks Todd, you took some of the guess work out. Rebuilding a Speak easy, and looks like $600 will bullet proof most of it. Where do you get good lamp holders from?
We buy the lamp sockets from either Marco Specialties or Pinball Resource...glad the video helped!
I got a 1978 Bally's Lost World. I want to install the Ultimate Lamp Drive for LEDs on the playing field but prefer to keep the regular lights on the backglass and under the plastic covers on the playing field. I like the way the older lights illuminate the backglass better than the LEDs. Would I be able to do that with this board or do I have to switch the backglass to LEDs too?
Have you been able to find an answer to your question? I have asked myself the same question.
Nice n clean layouts. Just make sure the high voltage is isolated from it. A couple of techs didn't and pretty much killed a board and the entire light farm on a ST TNG pin.
Or get a nasty ZAP yourself!
my Rolling Stones bally works perfectly apart from the playing field lights.. Al the ones that flash up and down the length and at the top where the ball comes through the gates etc.. I have replaced the light board but that hasn't solved the problem.. Any Ideas from here ???
I bought a Baby Pac last week and ordered an Alltek MPU yesterday. Where can I buy one of those pullers you are using at 3:56 at? Thanks in advance for your time and help.
I like Frank's modding philosophy!
:-)
Where’d you get the soft white LEDs on the back box of the Kiss??? Or are they just amber haha
For the inserts do you like to use Frosted or Clear ones?
Frosted works best...we buy them from comet Pinball
Wooohoooo first. Love tnt amusement
Yes you are!
Hi Todd
Do you have to worry about static electricity when working with these printed circuit boards or are they robust enough not to be affected by static electricity?
We have yet to have a problem ever...and have been doing this for 39 years now!
Many thanks for replying, nice that I should not worry about static electricity if I start messing with these boards.
This is why we're #TeamFrank!

Hey guys, question about the Alltek Lamp boards; is it necessary to swap out the aux lamp board too in to make the LEDs work? I'm guessing it depends on the machine? I think you changed the aux. in your KISS video. How about a Space Invaders Pinball? Thanks.
Would love to know this also
You can run regular bulbs just fine with the new alltek lamp board...the new board adds a resistor so the LEDS won't flicker...so thats good down the road! (You MUST add the ground wire (included) for the leds to work though). Otherwise just plug it in and you are done using regular bulbs! Todd
Why could you not just pick the power from the light socket locally in the back box? Does that blue wire not originate from that very board? Or does it come from the mpu?
thats the power wire and its closer to go to the door...you could also run it back to the transformer, but it would require piggybacking the two wires in the transformer connector. But you could do it either way.
but you could just use two diodes in opposite parallel for your LED lights prevent flickering time consuming and fiddly I know. I take my hat off to the guy it is good he's doing these boards and main boards
Thats alot of lights to put diodes on...and it would look pretty crappy too.
TNT Amusements Inc why would it look crappy you won't even see them under some shrink wrap
Wow! In color!... too bad its not Technicolor...it will have to be remastered
:-)
Not first again!
Second!!
A child could do it! 9:15
I LOVE that line...I always remembered it when I watched the show back in the 60's The episode was Spock's Brain...and McCoy realized with the alien knowledge he got briefly, he could reattach Spocks stolen brain!
That was great! NOW GET OUTTA HERE!
Glad you liked the video!!
3rd 😏
