PINBALLHELP, All pinball driver boards use a PIA chip with a bunch of mosfet to switch on and off the coils and solenoids, but it doesn't say in the service manuals why they are using a PIA chip. It doesn't make sense to me to use a PIA chip when you can connect the mosfets directly to the MPU board without using a PIA chip.

Hi, what should the value of the fuse on this board, mine has a 100 ma, is that correct? Also My board is not now sending the 5v supply to the mother CPU board to the left of this board, no green light showing on this MPU board but it did flash on when I touched the long connector marked 'J3' but this happened only once! Skawk & talk board is working, do you please have any ideas, I have cleaned the contacts on connector 'J3', regards, Ian.

I have just checked those test points 1 & 3 in your video and they are only showing 0.27 volt.

Great News, I have just swapped out the solenoid board for and old one that had stopped working some time ago and I'm now up and running the only thing is I think that the fuse is rated far too high at 3 amps, what is the correct value and where can I get one? Thanks for a great video.

How much for you ground mod my board? Flippers slightly dimming all my bulbs also hear a crackling sound from the board. But everything is still working fine...so far. Specialty if I hit both flippers a once.

Is this a AS-2518-22 board, that is what I have in my Mata Hari and this is similar , would the upgrades work on the -22 ? Do you know off hand if all the transistors in the bottom row on that board are the same ? thanks in advance.

Steeljaw Jones yes the -22 is the same upgrades. Also you can replace any of the transistors on the bottom with a Tip102.

Hello, what gauge wire are you using for the jumpers? 22 gaug.?
