The musical mastery of every aspect of this song is so hard to find.. down to the vocal performance, message, mood, arrangement, solo... its truly a PERFECT performance that can easily impress even the pickiest musical snobs I would reckon. not a single thing in here that could be considered mediocre. The Dear Hunter Acts 1-5 are absolutely stunning start to finish! It BAFFLES me more people haven't recognized this talent! Casey is simply breathtaking with his passion. This music is THERAPY.
That solo tho. Sometimes you get so caught up in Casey's composition, harmonies, and the billion other things going on to remember that he's a master guitar player as well. Definitely a favorite part of the album. I hope he plays it live or even does a video of himself playing it (fingers crossed)
yeah. if you look at the tabs to these songs. they sound easy but he's good at hard chord progressions and most songs are really hard. his easiest upbeat song is prob in caudia venom. and that's sorta hard song
I lay my body down to rest my weary head I think I left someone there, I left myself for dead So is there anybody here who can tell me where I am? Or at least where I have been? Because I fear I'm lost and I cannot be found again I left my soul exposed to frail hands who hold my fate up in the air And through their fingers, hold the meaning of it all Down to the floor it goes So is there anybody here who can tell me where I am? Waking in the afternoon, a captive in a passive tomb Moments turn to long Decembers, stoking fires from dying embers I try to move a limb but there's a disconnect within A devil in the alchemy, a phantom staring back at me, it's you So is there anybody here who can tell me where I am? Or at least where I have been? Because I fear I'm lost and I cannot be found again Just waking in the afternoon, a captive in a passive tomb Moments turn to long Decembers, stoking fires from dying embers I try to move a limb but there's a disconnect within A devil in the alchemy, a phantom staring back at me A pain I simply can't express from troubles I have long repressed Then there's you
Clearly inspired by and channeling/paying homage to Pink Floyd with this song. The piano is reminiscent of “The Great Gig in the Sky” and the chorus is reminiscent of “Speak to Me/Breathe”.
Hearing this for the first time, it reminds me of BTBAM's Bloom which is one of my favourite songs ever. This is good. There is way too much music these days, I can't keep up with it all.
I have a weird feeling that the solo is meant to signify a soul fighting its way out of a dead body or something to that effect, at least it makes some kinda sense from the lyrics. That was some pink floyd level emotion at the end there. Very reminiscent of "The great gig in the sky".
Bruh what? Act 4 has some of the hardest songs in any of the acts. Wait, Waves, The Old Haunt, Bitter Suite 4 & 5. This may be a peak but there’s still plenty of stars.
Probably my favorite song from this band. It's just perfect.
I can't stop listening to this song

This song remember me my father.
My father died two weeks ago. It is very hard to me this moment.
Rest in peace dear dad.
mauripok5 I wish you all the best.
Thanks a lot!

+Billy Pasquariello hey they finally did play this live for the first time 2 days ago. check it out on my channel
This song was phenomenal live. I saw them a week ago and it was the best show I've ever been to. All of it was phenomenal. The whole band was great.
Seeing the solo live was ridiculously amazing.
I didn't know Casey played the solo 0: just makes me appreciate him even more
2:14 has to be one of the best things i have ever heard. tdh never disappoints. adore this song

@@icecreamman2687 1000% PF. This song is a true masterpiece.
One of their best songs. The emotion in it is gorgeous.
Who would dislike this? The instrumental part is outstanding.
+Jimmy Novakin No one human
+Jimmy Novakin Deprived individuals.
This is a masterpiece in music form!
Just imagine having a dislike button not 2022.
Best release of 2015 along with steven Wilson´s Hand Cannot Erase. What else can i ask? see them live.
I lay my body down to rest my weary head

Came back for a listen. Still one of my top 10 songs of all time.
Clearly inspired by and channeling/paying homage to Pink Floyd with this song. The piano is reminiscent of “The Great Gig in the Sky” and the chorus is reminiscent of “Speak to Me/Breathe”.
So much Pink Floyd vibes I love it

Gong Thats funny, they just toured together.
The chorus reminds me of the end of Pink Floyd's "Time".
Anyone else?
+Sage Leviathan the whole guitar solo sounds like it could be david gilmour
I felt exactly the same way
I read your comment and thought to myself, pfft yeah right. Without paying attention, I noticed the similarity instantly.
I see this song as a response to Pink Floyd's "Is there anybody out there?" , i feel like it's a subtle little nudge haha
Yes, I found the same similarity. This band is something else.
This song is terrific. I don't like every "The Dear Hunter" song, but the ones I do like, really blow me away.
+Nick Forshaw the thing about appreciating good music, is appreciating the music itself above the artist
Speak for yourself lad, i enjoy all of it
@@bungersinyourarea he did speak for himself, lol
Casey is the greatest modern composer!
Holy, how good is this? Wow.
OH BABBY A TRIPPLE
+Lloyd Nix Oh?
dude wut . why have i never heard such magic before
Waking in the afternoon part always sounds like Across The Universe to me.
This song kicks ass.
MAN, he really let go for a moment in that guitar solo, and it payed off so, so well...
That solo is awesome
This is beauty.
this is awesome
This is overwhelming in its perfection. Too bad we can't find him.

I was a little upset that there were no harder songs on this Act it overall still amazing. :D
Bruh what? Act 4 has some of the hardest songs in any of the acts. Wait, Waves, The Old Haunt, Bitter Suite 4 & 5. This may be a peak but there’s still plenty of stars.
Is there anybody here?
I kinda hear pink floyed here
Sounds so dream theater-ie
+Moisés V Absolutly not.
More character and soul than dream theater could ever muster
