John, thank you for the 12 1/2 years of hard work that you did for our company, you were an important part during the years of our biggest growth and we appreciate that. We are thankful that God has blessed our company every day for 42 years and trust Him for the years ahead, and pray that He will bless your new endeavor also. Our continued prayers for your family, Mike and Kim Cook.
You lost a wonderful employee because you didn't want to listen to someone that had your back for all the years. Sad you guys basically pushed him out. You will find people like this are very hard to come by. Think about this when the next time someone comes to you on how to change or fix things.
@@bradh7472 your ignorance is amazing. There are two sides to every story and John is really good at making his version of reality known. Mike and Kim, however, will never stoop that level. John was blessed to be able to work there and learn and grow as he did.
@@rosannapurvis2022 Well thanks for the compliment of having amazing ignorance. Yes there are two sides I understand. Hopefully they do exceptionally well without John, then it can be proven he wasn't needed.
While I've never personally been in a situation - where I worked with family, I know that it often has its own set of challenges. Add to that the tragic death of a love one, figuring out life after the loss of said love one and navigating thru the new dynamics of everyday life had to be stressful for all. I sincerely hope that now that the employment relationship has been fractured - obviously with some hard feelings - that as Christians and good people that in time some wounds will heal and that the adults can restore their "family" dynamics to the point that your children's relationship to their maternal grandparents is strong and happy as it was when things were going smoother. There will always be a multitude of ways to make a living (jobs) and in an ideal world one should seek out one that makes them happy. There is no substitute for a the special relationship between a child and a set or two of loving grandparents and vise versa. Best of luck to all and I've really enjoyed the videos you have put out the 18 months or so since I discovered you.
My dad had his own company laying tile and flooring for 50 years he did that so I kind of know where you're coming from thank you man good luck good field to get into thanks Gary
Thanks for the up date. Your long time viewers are going to support you as you move forward in your life. BTW ~ That Chipper Guy can still be used for the Tile business . You know, the guy that gets called to fix chipped tile .
I'm goin thru some of the same stuff at work myself. It's all the little things that dont get fixed and build up to bigger problems. Stay safe and do your thing man
I was just thinking about you this week how I haven't seen a video in a wile. I'm going to miss the chipper videos but looking to your new venture. Phil.4:19
John I'll be happy to watch whatever you want to post. It's been my experience that the larger a company gets the more they tend to forget who got them there. Those companies don't usually last for the long haul. They tend to not be able to keep people working for them. I'm glad you are happy with the change. Being happy is important. Nobody wants to go to work everyday and be miserable. God bless brother.
One lesson I’ve learned in life, nothing is forever. You’re a good guy with a fantastic family on you team. Things will fall in place as the days go on. Family first, I’ll be watching.
Mike's company is going through a common issue, going from 'Mom and Pop' operation, where everyone knows everyone well, to full corporate entity. Many companies fail at this point. But if they can make it through, it will continue to grow. I also had to leave a company (rather dramatically) for this reason.
Good for you! Your reasonings are the exact same as what mine were when I changed jobs a few months back. Kudos for making choices to better yourself and make yourself happier!
Hey John it’s good to hear from you. We’re behind you either way, you do what’s best for you and your family. Keep it rollin man. It seems like we’re just worried about a number too, we chip also.
Been a subscriber for years- always have loved your enthusiasm for working in the woods. I know it’s tough to walk away from that but everyone needs a change eventually. Best wishes for the future. I’ll keep watching as long as you film.
I always enjoyed your chipper videos because my dad was a supervisor at a chip plant here in Maine from the early 70’s to 1998 when it was closed due to the paper company they made chips for “Boise Cascade” sold out to a Chinese company. They made high quality chips for making paper. They chipped hardwood (except oak) and hemlock. It was a nice setup. Two cranes that rode on a track. Under the cranes was a main chain that carried the logs to the debarker. When the logs came out of the debarker they rode on another chain to the chipper. Their was another crane which believe it or not was electric!!! That helped the logs go into the throat of the chipper. Once the chips came out they went way up high on a conveyor and dropped onto a series of big steel shaker screens. Any chips too big went back thru a re chipper. Chips too small and sawdust went to the sawdust pile. The good quality chips went back up a conveyor and into the blower that blew them into the big possum belly trailers. The chipper ran on electricity. ALOT of electricity lol. So with that being said I totally understand what you went through. I have been in similar situations myself. But I always look at it that you only live once. Sometimes change is the last thing you wanna do after doing something most of your life. Especially if you have a big family that relies on you. But I have found that change is good. And just by your facial reactions it’s pretty obvious that your VERY happy with what you are doing now. And I’m happy for you. I think once you get your new adventure in life all situated you should do some videos showing us how you do tile work ETC. sorry for the long message lol. Good luck to you and looking forward to seeing your next video. God bless you and your family and as always WORK SAFE 🇺🇸🇺🇸😎😎
Hi John!!😀😀 Hard to work for family or ex family now. I noticed things had been changing for a while already. Sorry to see a good logger not in the business anymore. All that matters is that your happy, awesome you started your own tile business, the renovation in residential an commercial business right now is booming, that's awesome your doin tile, it's an art for sure, thanks for sharing buddy 🇺🇸🇺🇸god bless
Started doing tile work 20 years ago. Similar situation as yours. Hard on the knees. Hard on the back. Great for the soul. I sleep well every night. Turn out what ever you want. I’ll even watch tile videos, might get some tips from you.
Glad your doing something you enjoy! Look forward to seeing the videos you put out. Everything works out in the end, if it’s not okay, it’s not the end.
I will miss you. I've learnt a lot from your work with the equipment. Thank you, and all the best for you and your family in the future. For every one in the office, the Company requires 3 people in the field.
#thattileguy done same thing 5 years ago, don't regret it one bit. Stay strong big guy 💪 I had a hunch that they turn on you after you got remarried and all.
You have gone through more personal things than most ever will and you have to do what makes you happy and or keep your sanity. As far as a name could be called the clipper guy. I'm also betting us as a viewer community would have no problems calling you for a tile job if needed. They dont call it a family for nothing. I would be very interested in seeing some finished jobs even if you put out short clips.
Sometimes changes is needed to keep your head level, I quit a job with 16 years seniority and almost 5 weeks holidays and bought a skidder to work in the bush. I love what I do now and would never go back.
so now we have that tile guy 😂👍👍👍. I was thinking about you today and how I haven't watched any of your videos in a while then this pops up. I hope the breakaway was drama-free and you can retain a relationship with them sounds like you're on the right track to me if you weren't happy there. there's work to be done if you're willing to do it go get it 👍👍👍
Nice to see you, John. I had a feeling things weren't going so well at the company, you had said they told you not to record on a few jobs. onward and upward, nothing sucks worse than being beat down at a dead end job. I hope your new work keeps you busy, happy and fulfilled- financially and otherwise. Still working on the new house? hey, you can still be That Chipper Guy, just show some shots of you using nippers to edge a shape out of some tile. Would that make you That Nipper Guy? I dunno, this requires more thought than I am currently capable of. Anyhow, y'all have a good one. Nice to see you.
John, thanks for your videos. Years ago my father and I ran a saw mill and worked a bit in the woods with an older iron mule, jonsered saws and a 10 cord self loader. It was a side gig and I went another way after college but sawdust still courses through my veins so I really liked watching the newer equipment in your videos. Given the pressures of working in the woods I truthfully was surprised the vids lasted as long as they did. I wish you the best in the future. Working in the woods is … work which will help you wherever you go. Coincidentally, a Cook crew is working very close to my subdivision and there was quite a plume of black smoke from the cut this morning. I’m hoping it wasn’t serious and there were no injuries. I really like to see a Logger make it so I also wish the best to the Cooks as well. Best, Scott
Long time watcher, and its good to see you back and excited about making videos. Always enjoyed watching your content and I'm sure I'll love the new stuff too.
John, talk about "da-ja-vu"! Same thing I went thru back in 2010. I walked away, got my CDL's and what a relief! No doubt you sleep better at night. Thanks for sharing!!!
Made the right move John if you are not happy when you go to work then leave. Work should be a joy not a chow, great to see a happy face on you keep up the happy tiling.
Good to here from ya man! Gotta do what’s best for YOU and your family. Keep on rollin and enjoy every minute you can. Only question I have is, will you miss the woods?
I totally feel you I worked for a land cleaning company for 20 years and 2 years ago I had to walk away and started something new and it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done and now that I look back it was the best thing I’ve done.

Now you feel free right enjoy it do what you want I've been My Own Boss 38 years I haul scrap metal for a living I love the challenge of it everyday is always a new challenge of it
I’ve been watching you for the last 4-5 years John on UA-cam and saw all that has happened with you. I pray that God blesses your new endeavor in doing tile. Sometimes it is better to move on when things at work aren’t going well. Better to go on good terms than be somewhere and not be happy. That can affect your family. I would like to see how the tile business goes and God bless you and your family John.
I'm glad to see you back wondering where you have been. I'm sorry things didn't work out for the best. But sometimes it's good to make a change for the better that makes you happy. I wish you luck on your new adventure. As I will look forward to see what your up to in the videos to come. On another note. Where you are doing tile work now. What do think of doing some self help videos of how to lay tile.
Sorry to hear that I'm sure it was hard to leave but better that way then stressing out about the things going on... good luck an have a great future...😍
It couldn't have been your work ethic. I would sweat just watching you. (:-D You were an asset to the company, and they lost a helluva good man, for sure. Best of luck in all your endeavors. -- I need my master shower rebuilt. I'm big like you and cracked the floor in my one piece fiberglass enclosure. Want to go with tile. Too bad you don't live close to Olympia, WA.
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I worked for a company for 36years and one day I said enough is enough. Now you can change your name to THE TILE GUY. Take care and have a blessed week.
Appreciation goes a long way. Them saying it only make them feel better, showing it and acting on it is a complete other. Good for you to jump right into something different.
Glad your doing great John!!! Glad your happy being out on your own and doing your own thing!! Also the old saying is snitches get stitches!!! 🤣🤣 My question is how the truck running?? What was wrong with it?
I will start by saying, I sincerely hope you find joy, peace, and God's favor on your new endeavor. That being said, we'll see if this comment is deleted, that seems to be how it goes when there are differing opinion. Obviously, as a part of the Cook family, I have my own view. Our family loves John and his family and always will, nothing can ever change that. Losing Lacey was obviously a huge devastation to all of us. I'm positive that nobody has been perfect in navigating the waters after that. There is no good way to go about it, and emotions run high, that's to be expected as we all love her so much. After John moved in another direction and began expanding his family, the change in John towards the Cook side was very obvious. As I said before, I'm sure not all of it was handled perfect...on either side. Making a video and bashing your previous in-laws however, is distasteful, to say the least. There is a lot more to the story, and you don't allow Mike and Kim to give their side. If you want to bring up handling this as a "Christian" you should go to whoever you are having issue with, in private, and confront them. This is an entertainment show, and you have benefited greatly from the opportunities afforded you by Mike and Kim. Leave it at that and move on, instead of airing dirty laundry for the world to see. The way that they responded to your video, with grace and class, encompasses the true character of Mike and Kim.
I own a tree service and I can relate with what you say about not having a final end product it just goes away when I'm gone it'll be nothing of my work for people to see last night watched my first video of yours of you operating the old morbark chain flail thought this would be interesting to watch and subscribed this morning this was the next video I saw good luck in your endeavors
I know the feeling I've been My Own Boss 38 years now I I did other jobs for a number of years I never felt comfortable being told what to do make you feel like you're not really wanted at the place so I know what you're saying I got you
You definitely have been eating very efficiently

I just resigned yesterday morning for very similar reasons. I was hired by lunch and start next week.

Congrats on the new endeavors. Gotta take care of yourself first! Take us along with you for the tile work
Oh no. Say it ain't so. Typical employer. They keep pushing and pushing until you finally get fed up with the B.S. Been there, done that.

Your a great guy John love your videos good luck on your new adventure and yea keep us informed 👍
Sorry to hear that I'm sure it was hard to leave but better that way then stressing out about the things going on... good luck an have a great future...😍
Smart move to walk away on a bad work relationship not worth the grief and headache, good luck and best wishes on your new ventures.
Your personal well being is worth more than any job. Best of luck to future endeavors.
Wishing you the best in your new adventures. Enjoyed the Chipper Guy videos!
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I worked for a company for 36years and one day I said enough is enough. Now you can change your name to THE TILE GUY. Take care and have a blessed week.
Good to see you have finally over being walked over love all your video’s and look forward to video’s on your new venture

That Tile Guy! Has a ring to it.. A guy has to take care of himself and his family first!
Appreciation goes a long way. Them saying it only make them feel better, showing it and acting on it is a complete other. Good for you to jump right into something different.
All the best big John, say didn't we have some fun. I'll drop in from time to time just to see what's going on these days too.
Glad your doing great John!!! Glad your happy being out on your own and doing your own thing!! Also the old saying is snitches get stitches!!! 🤣🤣

John... Just Keep Rolling, You Got This..👍👌
HEY john, Good 2 hear that U R still "Rollin". Good luck and take care, Friend.
Couldn't have said it better
Congratulations on figuring it all out. My best wishes for your continued success and for your families happiness and good health.
Thanks for Watching!!
