FYI: If you want to remove unused Landing Sites (surveyed places but not used) - put down an Outpost Beacon, promptly remove it, then take off. When you look on the planetary map, the Landing Site will be gone!
Nice, that would most certainly be a quicker way to doing it as there is only allowed x amount of landing spots you can have per planet (or maybe in general). Leading to old ones being removed when exceeded.
Another tip for removing landing sites is just land at other places on the planet, it saves only a certain number of "explored" landing sites (4 or 5 I think) so you will start "losing) old sites as soon as you pass this number, I use this when I get a base too close to the original landing spot and stops my ship landing at my outpost.
Bro I've been searching for outpost decoration videos for the longest. You are literally the only person I've found. I love what you are doing, would love to see some more ideas.
I really want to see the hallways expanded upon so you can have corners, 3 ways, and 4 ways even have changable sides like the habs so you can switch between windows on solid walls. Maybe even verticals for ladders that can connect to bottom and tops of habs and straight wall ways.
Hey mate, you actually put some items on the crews deck!! Leave the items on the floor, open the construction menu and grab the item. Now you can put anything on shelf or desk
Starfield really need an equivalent of OCDecorator from Fallout 4 cuz I'd love to actually use all the otherwise useless clutter as decorations without it despawning the next time I visit my base
I love how optimize building is in Starfield on the PC and it definitely shows Even if it took you several hours to do this on PC it’ll take twice as long on Xbox. Merging your build like that or building directly on top of a landing pad is near impossible if it could even be done. Yeah, let’s say the ghost mode that doesn’t happen on Xbox We have the yellow pre-build, but it’s not that optimized & vanishes instantly when it’s deleted.
I haven't done much building in Starfield because of 2 things mainly well maybe a bit more than 2. The over zealous snapping as u point out, also I'm waiting on the Creation Kit so modders can make static decorating objects instead of full dynamic. Along with the Creation Kit a "Place in Red" anywhere mod sorta like we had in Fallout 4 if u were familiar with that also a unlimited base size mod & a way to have unlimited bases across the star sys.
The game already has a system in place to make decorations static. You just need to drop them, open up the building menu and place them from there. There's an issue at the moment with items sinking into surfaces over time though so you need to save and log out to the main menu once you're done to lock the items in place. I wouldn't worry too much about unlimited budgets though. The one we have is pretty huge and if you go too far with it you will end up creating issues. Larger outposts tart to struggle in a number of ways, not least of all FPS drops. Being able to have more of them will be nice though.
I think your flickering between rooms could be a natural light issue coming in from ya living room clashing with the sorta fluorescent hab lights in the bedroom, its sorta the games way of going from natural lighting to fake lighting. Though u are not supposed to see the flicker, Bethesda did a lighting update/patch recently so see if that flicker is still there.
Is there a way to slow down the object rotation with mouse click? When I press my mouse button my object rotate too much and I have a lot of difficult to place objects in the right place
Now the new update for Starfield has dropped (Is it still in BETA the update ??) I am going to buy Starfield on PC (Steam) and your "Build" guides are going to be essential viewing for me Mr. Xion. Thank you for your superb video content regarding this game and of course and not forgetting the ever growing Fallout 76 !
Awesome to hear! 😊 The update is still in beta, probably for the next week or so. I've been playing it this weekend though and it seems to be fine so, no need to wait if you don't want to.
@@DarthXionGames Great news DX, I will wait until it is released officially as I got some work to do on my PC so looking forward to playing it from the beginning :)
Fallout settlement building seemed so much more fun. Maybe my skills are too low but there doesn't seem to be very much to build with. Very little customization options too. Is it just me?
Options are pretty limited at the moment. As with Fallout the options will probably open up over time. DLC and mods will make a massive impact. For now though it's not as good as it might have been.
I wish there would be a masculine version and feminine version for the outfits, there are not enough female outfits. The ones that are present look like something a grandma would wear. They also look the same in both cases. There are a lot of outfits npc's wear that we cannot get for ourselves. I like Walter Stroud's and Sarah's outfits but cannot get that without a lot of effort. Outfits should be more accessible. We also cannot upgrade outfits. There should be a separate category in outfits so that we can mix and match what we want the character to be dressed as. The shoes currently may well be a bag of cloth the character wears since we cannot customize it. Melee weapons are also not customizable what we get is what we should be happy with. The character creator also does not allow us to customize the character's body by much. What if I want the character to be both muscular and heavy?
Obligated statement that the two-story double HAB has a stairway that connects multiple floors. However I assume you don't want to use it because it looks ugly lol, in which case yeah it sucks we don't have ladders that can connect between other HABs
Just hope they make it so that if you build on a planet with a breathable atmosphere, instead of airlocks it’s regular doors. Don’t make sense to have airlocks otherwise. Wonder if they’ll implement building underwater… What, no bathroom? That’s another thing they need to add: more bathroom stuff…at least from what I’ve seen in various videos and live streams. Don’t own the game yet
Doors would be a nice feature for sure. The airlocks have their place but they are kind of slow to operate. We could do with internal doors and stairs or ladders too. I had planned to put a toilet in, but it ended up being a bit of a nightmare. There's no shower or bath option at the moment and I couldn't place the sink any lower than about chin hight. The smallest habs are way too big for a bathroom too so I was going to just use a hallway piece but with all the other issues I decided to skip it altogether. I'm sure our available options will improve in the future but for now with the basic options bathrooms are a bit rubbish.
I don't know exactly but I think I got them pretty early on, so I'd think it's on the lower end of the Outpost Engineering skill. If you're unlocking all the research as you level the skill they should become available pretty quickly.
I hate the fact you can't put anything on the landing pads (I get not being able to put stuff in the area the ship lands but the other sides should be fair game, would be good places for turrets and stuff).
FYI: If you want to remove unused Landing Sites (surveyed places but not used) - put down an Outpost Beacon, promptly remove it, then take off. When you look on the planetary map, the Landing Site will be gone!

Legend. Thanks man

Items CAN be placed on the crew desk, just nothing big.
Great space man cave!
Some great ideas you've presented, I'll be incorporating some of these design aspects in my next outpost build. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad the video was helpful! 😊

The double hab techinque would make some nice multi level apartment complexes.
It does have some potential! 😎

Thank you kindly! 😊
Starfield really need an equivalent of OCDecorator from Fallout 4 cuz I'd love to actually use all the otherwise useless clutter as decorations without it despawning the next time I visit my base
If you drop the items on the floor then open build mode and place them from there they'll stay put.
I had no idea that was a feature. Thanks again Bethesda for not explaining anything in this game @@DarthXionGames

Even build mode sinks statically placed items.
I've also had foundations like that disappear
This Looks Like A Very Cozy Outpost Just Perfect For A Xenobiologist To Study All The Local Wildlife!

It'll be worth having a look at whether the patch sorts that. The lighting update does look pretty cool.

There's a setting in the menus for object rotation speed.
Nice build ☺
Thank you! 😊
Mate well done I love the way you think, currently applying your ideas. lol
Cheers! 😁 Glad you liked it!
Airlocks shouldn't be a thing on planets with breathable atmosphere
Yes this.. It pisses me off
Dumb question but how do you have such a slow rotation speed on your items? I hold down the mouse buttons and they hit 100rpm pretty much instantly.
OMG nevermind, I found it. Outpost Rotation Speed defaults to 5x.

"Eh, the modders can deal with that" - Todd Howard, probably.
@@itstrab let’s hope not
Funny ladders in ship are a nuisance for others but when you actually need ladders there isn't any.
I own earth now 🤠
i guess maybe people figureout that the double hab has stairs in them
At what level does the control room computers workstations 12:02 unlock? How do I find them?
I don't know exactly but I think I got them pretty early on, so I'd think it's on the lower end of the Outpost Engineering skill. If you're unlocking all the research as you level the skill they should become available pretty quickly.
How do you rotate objects so slow with a mouse and keyboard?
There's an option in the settings to adjust the rotation speed. Its a must for precise placement!
How do you do fine rotations like that on PC?
You can turn down the rotation speed in the settings.
when the items sick just fix them one time and it dosent do it again.
sink i mean....lol

Material list?
Wow, the mannequins in my game are 10000% broken. I cannot put anything on them without them breaking and loosing items.
This made my keyboard sticky.....
One problem, where is toilet?😂
Where do you poop?
Nesoi is actually pronounced Nee-Swah
Can you talk a little faster?
oh brother. bye
