Just to make things clearer, it was a phantom neutral: not quite in gear, not quite in neutral even though the light was on. It was making a funny click when being wheeled around in/out of vans and workshops. Quite common apparently...
44Teeth let me guess an oil leak on the F4. When we raced them in British Superstock oil and electrical nightmares.
Funny that. Maybe its me but I've noticed Ducati's love to randomly find neutral when your hauling ass but as soon as your stopped and need neutral its impossible to find.
How Italian @@gnarshread
It’s easy to adjust the shift linkage on a 999. Or better yet, install a GP style shifter. 😀
Those dyno numbers seemed to reflect the output of a 749....
I can see this as becoming the Blown The Budget For The Bike Battle.
And today kids we proved that 20 year old japanese bikes you can buy for 1500 quid are significantly reliable than 10 year old italian bikes that cost more than 4x that. Honestly, given it was always going to go this way buying a used italian bike, they probably should have just stuck to the fixer upper approach lol
@@jamesoren7238 that's going well now with Gixer they have now after months they're still fixing it 😂
2:15 "Chris and the F4 have got a few problems as well" - least surprising statement ever
Reminds me of the wife when we first met: sexy and unreliable
Jme Be - 🤣😂🤣😂🤣👍🏾
Jme Be my dyslexia read that as sexy and unridable
..at that time, sums it up nicely ;)
Take my upvote, you damn savage.
track day without checking your brakes thoroughly first... that's a rookie fail!
You guys just keep raising the bar. Absolutely love watching the content lately. Amazing.
0:23 full carbon Panigale V4S looks stunning! And that termignoni exhaust is a beautiful piece of kit :O
The BBB italy videos are my most anticipated videos on youtube! This is gonna be Epic
Love u guys, you're awesome, lovely British accents! Keep it up 44teeth 😬
Gorgeous looking bike, they look even better when they're working!
Liked. Haven’t even watched it yet! So excited for this series 😁
6:47, are you taking the piss?
I'm expecting at least 20 mins worth of Perkins Statham.
That into....👍🏽😂😂😂. Man that Ducati is beautiful.... except the headlight. I never knew why they went with that cyclops look over the straight sex of the dual headlights on all the other Duc’s. Great stuff boys!!!
Lovely bike despite the issues. Double WSBK title winner. Where's the MV, does it move? ;D
yeah, I´ll vote 132 as well, my 996R makes 134.8 and the engines are essentially the same in power producing bitties :)
Ahh man now I have got to wait for the next one 😔
Love these. Always feel proper jealous seeing what you guys get up to!
Those are not after market rearsets they are genuine Ducati Performance aluminium upgrades straight out of the catalogue. Ain't cheap either. I have a set, surprised they broke.
I do like the 999, there are two bikes that I remember the first time I seen them, a 999 and a Griso.
Was waiting for more on this series :)
I had a Ducati 900ss and the rear brake lost all pressure down a steep hill.I looked down expecting to see a popped seal and brake fluid everywhere. All looked fine and the brake started working again when the bike had cooled.Brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs water), so left unchanged for a few years presumably the water content becomes high enough to boil and cause complete failure.Perhaps the calipers draw moisture in over time past the brake piston seals.Regardless it's a pretty dangerous issue on older bikes.
Aaahhhh, the bike shop. This is where 99% of this challenge will take place. Two old Italian sports bikes.
I owned a 999s, maintenance nightmare. The 4 bangers at the time were much better bikes to ride and own a today the power and reliability of newer Ducati’s have really come around
I love the 999S, great video!
This will be come a "Burning Budgets Battle" the replacement parts on the ducati, including labour, would cost more than my current bike ;)
999 my favorite bike of all time.
Awesome channel guys keep them coming 👍
good thing you bought a newer bike this time so you can save on the repairs.
ahahahah.
btw the best U2 Song will always be Sunday Bloody Sunday.
More please.
Another excellent video
You guys are hilarious. I love it
That's the same as I'm in gear then launch and your in the middle of the road with a pop to neutral lol
Now I am just waiting to see if the F4 blew up during a low speed running session .
Budget italian bikes are lessons in pain tolerance/sadism/patience. Good fucking luck in doing anything but spending money each time you ride them.
Awesome. With the exception of bikini bow fishing, you are my favourite thing on UA-cam
How to spray your customers bikes in sparks doh!!!
Love the vids!
Well prepared then
Whats the soundtrack in the beginning of the video?
Whats the song at 2:18?
I guess you are just trying to make it all seem interesting, but it is borderline insanity.
sweet fucking ride
I can't believe you didn't have a brake bleed kit with you. They're like $30. C'mon dude!
So much for the careful owner :(
Sorry guys. I'm not really sure these are "budget bikes".....for the everyday man. Previous season was what the average man could afford. Still good work.
Shes such a beauty ... :)
Oi!
👩👩👦
And these are the professionals!!! #putitinneutral
It was a phantom neutral. It'd been making this dodgy clicking since Donny, being wheeled in and out of vans and workshops. It's common, apparently
Must be a Ducati 'thing' - be interesting to see if the neutral light was lit?
Yep. That was the confusing part
lmao ducatis bro.....
If this bike was Japanese you still be hot lapping just saying
All this time for a 6 minutes👎 boooo
6:47**
Fark off
AR 97 calm down princess
Turn off the freaking music

Budget bike lmfao thats a good joke
you went to the track with an old italian bike without checking the brakes?
Daniel Maia - agreed! How does this happen? #deathWISH
Yeah piss poor preparation or time poor journo
Indeed...and, apparently, worn chain/sprockets! No tech inspection prior to be allowed on track??
Oh man how I learnt my lesson on my 999, no lever at the end of of long straight. Fresh fluid an it was sorted.
Exactly what I was thinking. Why spend the money on an expensive track day on a 2nd hand bike you just bought with unknown service history and which has brown front brake fluid?
That's not only dumb, but also irresponsible and attributable negligence IMO. What would you have done if you had ran into someone else due to failing brakes?
“Boohoo my free content doesn’t meet my exact requirements, I’m unsubscribing”
Get a life.
I waited forever for this. Seen the first episode already so many times
Love your videos!! Keep them coming 😋😋😋💕💕💕
MotoWaifu RJ and 44teeth, you have a good taste in UA-cam
😅 Thank you I guess 😂🏍
I was Team Green last BBB and we won. All aboard Alastairs' Team Ducati!!
Thank you god! Another 44 teeth video. Now I can stop watching shite MMA videos😁
Toby 😂😂😂😂
that was way too short.
Is this what counts as a budget bike in the UK? I need to move there asap :D
To be fair, I paid S$7,500 for my 2003 749S here in Singapore too. Converted to UK currency, that's under £4,500 for the 999's smaller sibling. :)
paid $7000 for my 2003 999 in the us. bought it in 2015
You guys really need to consider pitching this concept to some TV execs. I mean there is a lot of interest in Bikes that are 20+yo old and they are requiring some major maintenance issues. You need to do a 'wheeler dealers' for bikes. Purchase a nice looking motorbike for as cheap as possible, fix it up and on sell it... I love watching how they fix things on youtubes from minor maintenance to major jobs even fairing repairs. you would then be famous and sell more stuff...just do it!
Bike SOS imagine all the classics stashed in sheds and garages.
Like so many of us, I would love one of these Italian Beauties but my wallet would just fold in half every time one of these setbacks would occur! Breaks, Transmission, clutch, engine, I would be broke! Due to this fact, I am a classic '84 VFR 700 owner😁 However, long live the Italian beauties!
I was yelling sympathy at the screen when they thought the trans was broken! Then it wasnt and I was like yesss!!! And of course the brakes are knackered because you rubbed up against the SRAD and the Duc got jealous. Start selling some TeamDuck stickers already!
Lol that intro sounded like a shitty call 900 number talk to hot girls at 2am song..
Fook yeah the boys are back in town!
The welding on that frame - was it done by a blind man?
Silverfox I think the saying goes stevie wonder welded that shit with his feet
Welcome to the Italian bike life. They look gorgeous until you start actually looking at them.
Brake wise, isn't that just essential things to do and check before trackdays?!
He was right when he said, buy a 749 & change the fairings, the 749 is a better bike. Great start to DA BATTLE!
My favorite series on youtube.
Was just rewatching some old Baron videos then this pops up ❤
Ok BBB Italia is over and the 999 lost. But there is just something about that bike that makes it looks better than the MV.
Itchy Scratchy I could swear that 999 is actually a 749. I’ve had my triple 9 up to 170mph. I know the F4 is faster but it shouldn’t have pulled away from a 999 that quickly
Hanging about in the JHS garage is almost the best bit 😁
Budget.....Hahahahahahaha
Andrew Mack we’ve been over this. Stop complaining
Budget is an allocation of money. It’s doesn’t have to be a small amount, just an agreed upon sum. Apple’s marketing budget is not a small sum, for example.
A budget. Not low budget.
lol very smart fellas, well not really, this series was started with 'budget' quite obviously meaning cheap/small budget. Maybe they should name it differently each time, this one could have been 'bigger budget bike battle' next one 'boss budget bike battle' and so on lol
Halfdead Rider Well....if only they stated what their budget was, what the goal was and why they chose to spend more this time, in the first episode we wouldn’t be having this conversation.....oh wait.
As for them setting the tone for “budget” bikes in the first battle.....what about the hundred other 44 teeth videos showcasing bikes worth astronomical figures? I mean, doesn’t La Baron own a Hp4 race worth around £70k?
Budget meaning cheap is always going to come down to personal circumstance. Budget meaning agreed upon limit is universal.
At the end of the day it’s their personal money they invested in building this content for you, the content is also free for you so It doesn’t get any more Budget than that!!!
Budget???? Erm where
Loving this, not so bargain Italian bikes falling apart when you get your leg over.
So it cannot accelerate and it cannot brake at all.
Apart from that everything looking rosey. I have to say they though the 999 was the 37th best looking Ducati at a standstill when it does not work.
ua-cam.com/video/m7EnYrW0oQM/v-deo.html
Nice video, best Motorbike channel by far.
Good part over, now some criticism:
Sorry, but I would never ever fuck me no go to a trackday without servicing out brakes (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD) and filters on a bike bought from private person or not 1000% legit dealer. Why? Because of that. It is easy to "forget" about brakes, it is easy to fail to bleed them properly.
The only explanation is that you are not riding used bikes very often. Brake fluid and proper pads are like what? 80 pounds? Is this to die for just to win a challenge?
Al took his Bike to the track without a prior Brake-bleed and caliper check. I'm onTEAM999 but i have to say...Lift your fucking game, Al...unless you want Chris to finger-blast our side WTF is going on, Man?
Track day with that fluid in ducati ? Sheesh.
For the love of God, please remove the anodised nuts. Those things should be illegal. I can’t stand when people use anodised parts trying to colour match, it looks horrible and just cheapens the bike. Just use some lovely titanium ones, very light and strong and look great.
Just went to buy a reservoir warmer from 44teeth.com as I just assumed that you had one. Discovered you don't, but you should look into it - you'd sell at least one...
Y'all're gonna have to do some real wrenching
You dolt! You just took your recent find to the track before, and without even checking it out. There’s always one like you at the track.
We need more of James from JHS. the dude is funny as hell.
Had to laugh at the 'race shift' bit. If I did a race shift conversion on my bike, I would so fuck that up.
Please, pretty please, for the love all that is holy, change your taste in music. Thank youuuuuuuuuu.
YEESSSSS FINALLY JIZZLES EVERYWHERE
but i remenber you said : it's a good deal ! hahaha is chris touched your bike lately? ride safe love the content
I still can't believe you didn't put RSV in the stand off. I know there is only 2 of you guys but seriously what a freaking waste of occasion to test those 3 bikes together. RSV is proper budget italian and it would probably blow all your shiny ass ducati to pieces in every possible stand off. Next time you need a 3rd guy just call me.
Meh, swap it for the last generation RSV Mille and be happy
Yesterday I rode my Ducati and I almost lost my licenceplateholder/rear blinkers. They where dangling on the electric wire being chewed up by the rear tire.
Plusside; it made for a very spirited ride home without the license plate ;)
Ok then crossing out possible 999 purchase.......
It's a Ducati. Breaking down is what they are good at.
Fucking hell yeah, best series on UA-cam chaps
You f****** are killing these episodes are amazing
I’m just catching up with the BBBs, they’re great to watch! Seem to always have problems with the front brakes on these bikes!
Just destroyed the devil by becoming the 667th thumbs up 🖒
...still think one of you should have bought a Guzzi 😂
PLEASE tell me what camera you're using. I needs it.
