- JELLO IN A PINEAPPLE CAN
This is a fun and easy little recipe to try. My daughter had so much fun helping me make this. A great serving suggestion is to serve these jello and pineapple slices over cottage cheese, makes it some what healthy, right?
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
3 oz. box jello (any flavor)
1 cup boiling water
1 cup cold water
2 20 oz. cans pineapple slices, drained very well
Optional filling ideas:
mandarin oranges
maraschino cherries
INSTRUCTIONS:
Note- One 3 ounce box of jello will do two cans of pineapple rings.
Drain the pineapple slices very well.
Mix the cup boiling water with the jello and stir until the jello is dissolved. Add the cup of cold water.
If you are adding mandarin oranges or cherries to the center of the pineapple do this now. Add enough to fill it to the top, I packed them in. Pour over the jello.
Place the cans into the fridge. Let chill for 6 hour or longer. I did overnight.
To remove the pineapple and jello from the cans. Flip the can over onto a plate and use a can opener to open the end. Push the pineapple and jello out, push it out toward the end of the can that has less of a lip on it.
Serve and enjoy!

Mine's in the fridge right now (green w/cherries) I know the JellO won't set due to the pineapple, but I'm serving it with whipped topping or maybe on top of a piece of cake.
Raw pinepple will interfere with the Jello setting but canned pineapple will work find because the bromelain is neutralized by the canning process which heats the pineapple sufficiently to neutralize the protease enzymes in the bromelain.
Omg ! Making this!
you should have lixed it thick so the liquid from the pineapple didn't make it runny
