Hey bro so, i have played both games gd and batletoads. It took me something like 30 minutes to beat turbo tunel and i cant even beat simplest demon in gd.
People truly underestimate how hard tidal wave is, it could take one person months even years just to do it once, the amount of time and skill needed for Tidal Wave, better yet GD alone is insane
Tidal Wave should've been #1, it has over 200 frame perfects and took the verifier, the best player we've ever seen touch the game (At least at that point), who has access to some extreme tools like FPS Bypass and has extreme skill that has been gathered over several YEARS, 50,000 attempts to beat it just once.
I've beaten the perfect run and all of battletoads, and looking at tidal wave, I'd say that the amount of motion blur, obatacle overload, and split nanosecond reaction timing gives it true number 1 earnings. And also, the only reason turbo tunnel is always on these lists is because hardly anyone ever makes it past it. The rest of the game is even worse.
the first 3 people who beat it took this many attempts to beat it 1, 49,534 2, 70000~ 3, And one which i couldnt find an attempt count for but probably around the same oh yeah those are the only 3 who have beat it even though the level was beaten first in september 2023 and that takes months not even including the years you need to even get to a point where you could maybe attempt to beat it
Congratulations on summoning the entirety of GD twitter and the GDDL here! The reason why this blew up is simple: Every level in here (except for Tidal Wave from Geometry Dash) is an official level made by the developers of the game. Tidal Wave is the hardest *custom* level in Geometry Dash. It is miles harder and as of December 2024 only three people have beaten it EVER.

Also not mentioned about that Ninja Gaiden level: There are 3 consecutive bosses to beat at the end of 6-3. If u die, not only do you get sent back to the start- You get sent back to 6-1! It’s brutal af!

I have beaten C-3 in the lost levels dozens of times after having just played for a few days. In fact, I can do it pretty consistently, and yet after 5000+ attempts, I have 4% on tidal wave. Think about it.

Battletoads was such a fun semi difficult game right up until the turbo tunnel… then it gets turned up to insane! It’s like one of the programmers wanted to punish all of the gamers for getting dumped right before they designed this level 😅
It's even harder when playing co-op. Both players need to finish the level perfectly. Either one failing causes both to fail. My buddy and I back in the day managed to beat it but it took literally 12+ hours.
Just a few that come to mind -Running Hell from Cave Story -stage 5/6 from Touhou LoLk (especially at high difficulty) -Several of the levels from Super Ghouls and Ghosts
I cant tell you how many attempts it took me to finally beat the Perfect Run in SMG2. Probably hundreds. Maybe even thousands. And I had to take a ton of breaks, sometimes days or weeks at a time, to keep some level of sanity before beating it. But the satisfaction from beating a level like that is indescribable.
If I spent a year on Path of Pain, I could get a sub two minute time. If I spent a year on Turbo Tunnel, I could probably beat it twice in a row. If I spent a year on Tidal wave, I wouldn't make it past the first drop and may have the level in 5 runs if I'm lucky. Bloodbath could top this list, let alone Tidal Wave.
This is true what I'm about to tell you all about #1. There is a speedrunner named TheMexicanRunner and he managed to deathless beat Turbo Tunnel... *_BLINDFOLDED!!!_*
It’s not difficult. The pattern is exactly the same every single time and not particularly long. I used to be able to do it just from memory and the musical cues.
You forgot trying to do Turbo Tunnel with 2 players. You want to finish a life long friendship? Have 2 friends try and make it through without breaking a controller over the others head
I really don't get why people think Can't Wait To Be King is difficult. It is literal pattern recognition, that is all. I remember finishing this level when I was 6
Yeah I totally disagree with that one. I had way bigger problems with that second to last level in that game, that was the maze. And then the last fight solely because it required you to throw scar, a mechanic you were never taught before! I kept button mashing to try to get him to do it and sometimes it just didn't happen
If you think Labyrinth Zone is bad, you have not played Blue Marine Zone from Sonic Blast (specifically Act 2). it basically adds water physics to a game thats really slow already and its basically a maze
Bro, the creators of this vid have no idea about how hard beating tidal wave is, you can see a video and think "oh, looks hard" and bro, the dificulty you think it has is no even close to reality
I'm starting to think a random dork writes the tops for WatchMojo and they make them without questioning. No human mind who has ever played GD Tidal Wave would ever say _"It's not quite as hard as Level C-3 from Mario the Lost Levels."_
I completed The Perfect Run, 2 years ago, and I swear I CANNOT describe how stressed I was at the part with the hammer bros, and I felt SO relieved after I finally got past it.
I'm surprised that neither the Pachinko Game level or Secret of the Village Underside from Super Mario Sunshine didn't make it onto this list. The Pachinko Game level was incredibly frustrating because of an invisible force pushing Mario right until he reaches the center of the board, which makes landing in the left holes much more difficult.
I’m sorry but tidal wave is 20x harder than everything on this list combined. It takes months to beat that level at least. And that’s the hardest RATED level. Go search up levels like VSC and it’s even jarder
VSC is not harder than tidal wave. yes in terms of raw diffifculty it is harder but if for whatever reason it was placed on pointercrate it would bee at like #5, because it's that short.
it takes months IF you're very talented and experienced with the game, which is why only 3 top players have been able to beat it if not, you just can't beat it basically
OMG Watchmojo you unlocked a core memory, i remember playing that Driver tutorial at my cousins house over xmas break, i remember thinking wtf why is this tutorial so insanely hard.
I hated the level with the bouncing roly-poly bugs and those damn wasps. Then the level ends with a mini boss while you stand on flies that keep dropping. Seemed like I could never get to the mini boss with more than 1 HP haha
Not just Tidal Wave, but Geometry Dash’s top 50 levels are GOD DAMM DIFFICULT that even take MONTHS or even A WHOLE YEAR (considering playing a few hours a day) to beat JUST ONE level. That’s just for the VERIFIED levels, the unverified ones (or what GD players call “Impossible levels”) are so difficult that players CANT get through just 1% of it regardless of their skills. Geometry Dash may seem easy, but in fact, it is REALLY DIFFICULT
@Phobozothebozothats the thing with geometry dash, there are stuff you can do in the game that you need mathematical knowledge to understand how absurd that is,for example there is a level that lasts for several of octillion years
Path Of Pain at 16 is an incredibly overrated placement. It shouldn't even be on the list imo. It's literally ultra free. If you want a proper platforming challenge in HK, low% peaks is your best bet, took me 4x more time than Pop. OK going to rant about Tidal Wave now because it is clear that Watchmojo has no clue how hard this level actually is. Tidal Wave is the combination of, at that point, a bit over 10 years of skill progression. Tidal Wave is placed over levels that wete considered impossible for humans to beat. It has 200 separate timings that have 1/60 of a second to input or less. It took pro player Zoink, a player notorious for beating Silent Clubstep - a former impossible level in a bit over 20k attempts, Firework in 22k attempts, Kocmoc in 15k attempts, Ashley Wave Trials in 15k attempts, and Avernus in 20k attempts, took nearly 50k attempts on Tidal Wave. This level is bordering on human ability and for that reason it should be #1.

@@nicoscool2333 that's so cap I have beaten 5 insane demons and none of them come close to champions road
@@TroyBoyJoy no offense but champions road, darker side, and perfect run are all much easier than ppl give them credit for, as they aren’t THAT hard, and unlike insane demons they aren’t the culmination of months of playtime. They’re just huge difficulty spikes for the games they’re in (besides darker side which is arguably easier than dark side). You have to remember that you’ve likely played hard gd levels for a lot longer than hard mario levels considering how easy the average Mario level is. Their difficulty comes from there being no good practice imo
@@nicoscool2333I fully agree, I’ve played all of them as a kid (and I was honestly pretty bad at gaming as a kid) and they didn’t give me much trouble, especially champions road

Seeing a geometry dash level on this list had me stoked!
yeah but its easily number 1 by miles
“all we have to do is follow the damn train! CJ” 💀💀💀💀😂😂😂😂
Tidal Wave should've been #1, it has over 200 frame perfects and took the verifier, the best player we've ever seen touch the game (At least at that point), who has access to some extreme tools like FPS Bypass and has extreme skill that has been gathered over several YEARS, 50,000 attempts to beat it just once.
im pretty sure they used a roulette to order this cuz there's no way that tidal wave isn't top 1

Tidal wave is so massively harder than pretty much anything else on the list and it’s not even 1st place here? Wth
The rest of the game is even worse.
the first 3 people who beat it took this many attempts to beat it
1, 49,534
2, 70000~
3, And one which i couldnt find an attempt count for but probably around the same
oh yeah those are the only 3 who have beat it even though the level was beaten first in september 2023 and that takes months not even including the years you need to even get to a point where you could maybe attempt to beat it
The fact that Tidal Wave has been beaten only by THREE people: Zoink, Trick and wPopoff. It should've been #1 on this list.

I can understand these games are hard as well but compared to Geometry Dash, there like a hill vs mount everest.
Back in the arcade days devs made games difficult on purpose, so more money would be spent to continue
Most games now are more forgiving
Did yall rank these with random number generator? Because I dont think enough research was made if u place tidal wave like that.

I'm surprised that neither the Pachinko Game level or Secret of the Village Underside from Super Mario Sunshine didn't make it onto this list.
