    I like to hit an open string, put the guitar on a stand, then do an interpretive dance around the guitar. Crowds love it.

    Another trick is taking your pic and bending the A and D strings into a full loop around and then pushing the pic to the fifth frey. It then sounds like a bell.

    You NEED divebombs in your life... Awesome
    When I was a youngster in the late 70's early 80's, I learnt a great trick...
    I had 3 Marshall full stacks, what else??? and the obligatory 70's curly cable with huge heavy duty jack plugs on...
    Now at that time we were only just learning stagecraft, you had to look cool and have a great stance, we were bedroom hero's guys!!!
    It was one of the first big gigs I played.
    The intro music played, the dry ice was pumping out, the lights came up and we hit real hard the opening BIG E, not the usual E, the BIG E....
    I had my flying v neck gripped tight and howled like a wolf and ran forward to the monitors...
    I suddenly learned you are supposed to wrap your cable through the handle on top of your amp... A simple trick, but very useful!
    As I ran forward, the jack pulled out of the front of my Marshall and catapulted through the air hitting me square in the back of the head and killing my BIG E1!!!!!
    My sound went dead and I fell on the floor like I'd been shot and farted!
    What a star!
    I so wish we had this kind of tuition when I started out playing.
    Thank you very much Mr. Baker for your hard work and tutorials, even us oldies are still learning

    hey Rob here's something I do. I'm sure i'm not the only one. play a note in whatever scale you are playing and bend it up to what ever's cool, then tap on some higher note and bend that up (then down) as well. and if you want you can pull off all notes in a decending pattern. but you have to deaden the strings pretty quick after or its noisy. works best pulling off three notes for me. if you read this hope you have a go and make it loads more effective than I will ever get it to. oh yeah I think you need more guitars.

    last time I was practicing a crazy trick I stuck my Ibanez gio's body into the ceiling fan
    Its funny because people think I'm joking when I tell this story but i'm not. seriously theres a big chip in the back right behind the output jack
    ps great video rob my trick book has been going a little stale lately

    • @cheezyridr
      @cheezyridr 5 років тому +3

      right before doing it, did you look into your go pro and say "this must be done...all in one motion"

    • @geetarislife2843
      @geetarislife2843 5 років тому +1

      no but that would have been a better idea I saw Zakk Wylde do it in a solo in a video from the 80's. If you click on my channel, scroll down to popular uploads and click "Crazy high school guitarist" the first thing you see on the video is what I was practicing (it was totally worth the chip in my Ibanez tho and I sound like a total @#$%bag with this self promotion and sry for writing a book :)

    The first time I heard trick #2 was from one of the solos from Aerosmith's version of "train kept a rollin'". The studio musician that pulled it off stumped me for years until UA-cam got popular. Awesome video!

    A trick I like to do is to bend a string, tap onto a higher note and use my finger to bend the note a tiny bit more. This only works if the the first note is below the 12th fret

    The train sound and the wild horse sound, alien sounds are classics and good to have in ones vault of craziness. Alien sounds of course are better with a delay and occasionally a flanger. Good video man!

    Happy Halloween Robert , cool video!! I wanted to add in on that middle section where you use your Trem arm and scrape the strings (you reference dragon force)....I also heard that in the song “feed my Frankenstein” from Alice Cooper during the solo section. I always wondered what that was and your video made me finally figure it out. Thanks!

    cool stuff.
    the randy rhoads trick is awesome.
    but there is another way to achieve that.
    fret the note with left hand and tap with right hand and simple bend with the left.
    maybe it doesn’t look as cool but gets the job done.
    anyhoo. killer stuff.
    🤘🏽🎸🤘🏽
