One of the reasons why David Bateson can never be replaced as Agent 47 Providing the voice of the Mythical Silent Assassin is no easy task especially if you've been doing it for the past 20 years
11:16 - 12:00 According to me comprise the best quotes of 47 till date. He basically describes himself and his life in a nutshell. 47 very rarely spends his time on self-reflection being the cold blooded assassin and contract killer he is. This was one of the rare moments in the entire gaming series when he self reflects.
Yes, this was a major jump in his character development. The ending is powerful because he essentially frees himself at this point, and no longer has doubts or ties to the past. He decides to live free and see things for himself. His path is that of solitude.
Have to admit, kinda impressive him being such a cold-blooded assassin who, likewise, very rarely is honest with himself. Crucial moment in this amazing character's development:)
I thought Silent Assassin was by far a depressing story for 47. He wanted to leave that life and wanted peace but could never find it because of what he is. I do think he finally accepts what he does and what he is but I felt they retconned his character in Hitman WoA for the sake of the story.
Probably a spy or the target. The postman is scared about 47... he even forgets the tip... and diana tells is code red and the targets are always red. 47 kills only targets.
47 treat Diana in silent assassin so harshly lol. The time that's their nothing related and have special relationship. Only deal and job. Father Vittorio is the only real friends that 47 actually had😢
Wouldn't say that, she IS his handler after all. It's only natural that business comes first, and given the Vittorio situation, 47 was under pressure. Serves as good character development since we get to see 47's more caring side.
I still like his take on C47 though. Certainly sounded colder and more "robotic", though it's obvious Bateson didn't take his job very seriously when the project was at its infancy. Lower budget and all.
I haven’t played these games, only WoA trilogy. But 47 seemed to be more talkative in the previous games, which makes him more human and it adds depth to his characters than seeming like a robot imo, it gives us an insight of his thoughts. Wish they kept this in the new trilogy.
Exactly, it also gave more incentive to play the game and find out more about 47's character. The trilogy revolves much more around the targets than 47 himself, and his dialogue consists only of stuff related to his mission. There is no higher goal behind the trilogy, really, only assassinating the targets and getting out. No iconic characters like Agent Smith or Lei Ling, either. Sad.
@@ididntmeantoshootthatvietn5012 I think it's more apparent in the previous games because 47 has a lot of dialogue in the actual cutscenes and he's more of his own person. However, in the newer games' cutscenes he doesn't have much to say because(outside of missions) because Diana and Grey act as his guide in those cutscenes. If that makes since lol.
@@KT-pe8gw Not the Smith I know and love, though. He was always a clumsy and goofy character, sort of comic relief. And of course, named after the character in The Matrix.
If you think about it though. Since his birth, he has never seen the world as anything else but targets. He had genetic traits that are being taken advantage of by the ICA. The more he sees the world the more he may wonder about his existence. Is he to feel special or exploited. He is superhuman but still human. We see him crack a smile at the end of hitman 3 as if the weight of the world had lifted for a brief second. High profile target after target has turned him into a legend but I wonder if he sees the world and says, I need a normal life. Or has he accepted what he always was bred to be. I say this because at the end of hitman 2 he does say he won't find peace in the normal life and hangs the crucifix. He tried tho. He isn't completely emotionless but does well to not get carried away with it. Like every other assassin, it's another day at the job.
Yup, 47 was raised into a contract killer. You can't undo that, the past will never let go. That's why he chooses to embrace it (sort of), just see things for himself rather than getting sidetracked by those that will never understand him. And possibly unintentionally lead them to trouble, like he did with Vittorio.
True, that's only natural though since IO really grew after Hitman 2. That was their most successful game right until Blood Money. No Hitman game has surpassed the first four so far, IMO. And I really miss Jesper Kyd's amazing scores in the new Hitman. Don't even play them.
@@VergilHiltsLT Let's agree to disagree.
