We get a lot of questions on how to blend fragrance oils! It's very easy and fun to experiment with different scents and fragrances. There are a lot of creative ways of blending, testing, and creating new scents.
Here are just two ways that you can try, one that uses more fragrance oils than the other. I show you how to do both methods and how to calculate out the ratio and weights of fragrances you'll need based on what you like!
There's also some recommendations of some scent combinations we like!

Great suggestion to use q-tips or fragrance strips! I think it's the perfect way to save as much of your fragrance oil as possible! Thank you for sharing!
This is exactly the video I was waiting for!!! Thank you so much! I also appreciate the tip on not wasting too many oils. I cannot wait to try mixing and make my own candles scents. 😊💕
So glad to hear this was helpful!!!
Just wonderful, I been tryin to find out about "wholesale candle containers with lids" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Panlijah Inconceivable Position - (do a google search ) ? It is a great one off product for discovering how to become a candle making master and turn a profit without the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my neighbour got amazing success with it.
I thought I was crazy for mixing fragrances. Thanks for making this video.
This video is the best I’ve seen on the topic! Thank you SO much!!
This is awesome and sooo easy for a new chandler! Saves me so much time on trying to figure out the ratio's. I definitely, will be tuning in for more tips. :)
Thank you. Quick, easy, and informative! My brain was having on ouchie moment working out the math from drops to large batch 😆
The q-tip in a jar thing is genius, I would have never thought of that! Thank you for sharing!
I'm making solid perfumes. This was super helpful thank you
Thats the best idea ever. Thanks. Btw, what does nag champa smell like??
Ty I needed this info to make my own candeals
I just ordered some of your oil I'm so excited to make my own candles
Hope you like it!
Hi can I ask for 100 g wax how much oil I used
@@gulshanjumma680 Truly depends on the amount of Fragrance your wax can hold. Ex: If your max FO load is 6%, then you'd calculate 100g * 6%= 6g. That is the amount of oil you would use in your wax. Don't forget to subtract that amount from your wax. Ex: 100g wax - 6g oil= 94g of wax. those two combined will make 100g. Hope this helps.
Omg! So good video thank you very much!
Nice video. Any advice on how to get a CLP label done when mixing fragrance oils? Thanks :)
This was great. Thx you for sharing
Very helpful. Thanks
Thank you
Excellent Video

This was a great idea . Thank you 😊
How do I know the fragrance oil to use for anxiety
Where do you get your scents?
This is awesome! Question, do you use the same jar for blending different f.o? If yes, how do you clean them to rinse off the smell?
isopropyl alcohol works. or vinegar and dish soap, hot water and scrubber.
What about carrier oils?
Hello, thank you so much for the video it was really helpful. Can I just ask after you have created your custom blend how do you go about making it complaint to be sold please
5 parts? So 3 vanilla qtips and 2 whiskey?? How did we get the parts
Hi! How long do the scents last in the jar with the Qtips? :)
I was wondering the same thing - she says a "little while" but what's a little while LOL.
How do you know how much essential oil to each candle if your making the fragrance oil directly from essential oils? Can you add a different product to the essential oils like carrier oils to volumise how much fragrance oil you have and how do you work out the ratio for this? Thanks
So then you would subtract the 1.5oz from the amount of wax you need?
Hi thanks for the suggestions, brilliant stuff. for the fragrances you recommended do you have a ratio suggestion?
Hi, just wanted to ask, while making the candle, when we mix the oil to the wax, we letting get down to certain temp, should the room smell with that fragrance you are missing?
Wow thanks
I love this
Is this for one candle? How would I make a big batch of this mix so I don’t have to do this everytime I make a candle?
And this all goes in a pound of candle wax correct ? Awesome video. Can’t wait to get my kit
Thank you so much for this video! Very helpful..... 😊
Thank you!!
@@ProCandleSupplyokay so I know that I'm a little late looking at this video but I have a question and I'm hoping that someone can answer it so let's say the list of fragrance oils that you gave to mix together regardless if one would want to use that or come up with their own how do we know what fragrance oil should be 60% and what fragrance oil should be 40% or how do we know the fragrance oils that we mixing together can be a 50/50 percent how do we figure that? Without one overpowering the other one or just messing up the entire scents
This was goodwill
i want to make a wearable scent from the blueberry almond dish soap i have, what is the ratio i should mix it with to just straight up alcohol? LOL
Now I know what to say when kids ask me what they will need math for while doing homework...
I’m so confused on figuring out how to measure the .864 on a scale. I have a scale that does oz but it’s like .1-.9 then goes to a gram hmmm
Wait do we use both ends of the q tip per FO?
I just asked the same thing. It really makes a difference.
I notice some people use dried flowers in their candles? Is that safe? Can you do a video on that?
After you've do t the steps in this video how would you calculate what you've created into a bigger batch, lets say I wanted to make 25 candles of this custom blend. Hlw would I calculate that?
Use the ratio and then multiply
If you have 500ml of candle wax and you wanna add 10% fragrance oil, that would be 50ml of FO and will sum up to 550ml upon mixing of the FO into the candle wax.. 50ml of 3 parts vanilla and 2 parts coconut would simply mean 30ml vanilla and 20ml coconut.. always divide your percentage of FO with 100 first, for example 10% FO will give you 10/100=0.10.. then use 0.10 and multiply with your total wax (500ml).. that would give you 50ml (total FO to add to make it 10%)..dont forget to add this 50ml to the existing 500ml of wax.. total volume would be 550ml..i hope this helped
Can you combine essential oils and candle oils? For smell and aromatherapy
You don’t have to use candle oils I don’t think
Any advice on making food scented candles like bacon or fried chicken?
Never tried, this sounds fun though, would love to hear how they turn out!
@@ProCandleSupply I don't know where to start lol. Do i pour the bacon grease into the candle for the scent lol?
@@bdubz_det No, you would find a company which sells a bacon scented fragrance and mix that oil with a chicken scent to create the candle. Try a Google search.
What country are you based in to buy?
i know when it comes to synthetic fragrance oil u can literally mix in over 15 - 20 ingredients in a bottle but ive noticed thats not the case with essential oils the scents get really unpleasant after just about 6 why is that?
Hello! I have one doubt, is it possible to blend different brands of fragrance oils? I made a candle with caramel, vanilla and lemon, each one from different shops. I used 9-10% and the result was colored oil (like orange) at the botton of the candle. Very ugly, like oxide around the metal base of the wick. And bubbles of oil at the bottom as well. Why this happened?
I am a begginer as well, but maybe it has something to do with the temperature of the wax at the moment of mixing it with the oils? Most wax brands tell you at what temperature you should add the fragrance so it mixes up well with the wax. I hope it made sense English is not my first language 🤗
Here a thought how about a video about blending wax said coconut & soy thx
I have a question, can you melt 2 scented candles and pour the wax together to make a new one?
Dr Straight?
Can you do one with two and show the math with it
Million dollar question: What’s the ratio for each swab? Do you dip one end of the Q-tip for each fragrance or both ends for each?
Hi can you use Perfume and add it to wax or not?
NO. Perfumes have alcohol in them. Alcohol + fire = really bad. Only use fragrance oils made for candles
@@royalladybug30 thank you
I'll work that out for you here XD
I meant good
Thank you Tammy
I always get confused on when someone says 6% or 7% fragrance oil for one candle?
9% oil candle example: 0.09 * oz weight of wax you are using = ___oz oil needed. So for a 9% oil candle and 16 oz of melted wax. 0.09 * 16= 1.44 oz oil weight needed :)
This seems complicated
What in the math is going on here 🤣😳i need hellllllp🥺
