Good video! Wish I had access to this information 50 years ago.. Sure like the idea of anchoring traps!! Use to use re-rod.. very heavy and could be pumped up... extending trap lengths with wire? Use to use chains and swivels.. Use of power Rams game changing! Thanks for the tips👍B Deacon
Thanks for sharing your tips. My brothers and are disabled veteran. We can't run and gun deer anymore. We are still in the woods learning all we can about trapping. I know that it hard work on your in. We thank you so very much.
I drilled my birkshires for retrieval cable and so my main anchor has a small loop to attach to chain and a longer loop that goes through the same loop. It really works slick even on the long earth anchors.
Do u use the 15 inch ones in water trapping? I been using pogo anchors in the bottoms. Not in water yet. I made some up with 2 inch washers for water. I just ordered a wolf fang driver and 4 packs of wolf fangs anchors to try out from f&t.
I just went to pogo anchors. I have always used rebar. I have been putting 2 double ferals per end. Will 1 per end hold? I use 1.5 inch washers 15 inch 7x7 3/32 on land and 2 inch in mud. 18 inch 7x7 3/32..
@@TrapperJOutdoors looks like it holds great. Does it ever pull out of feral using a puller? Started building mine. 4 ferals per anchor. Dont take too long to go threw a pack. Going to goto 2 ferals per anchor. Thank you.
Do you wax your stakes? I still have to make a couple hundred of them. I'm going to get a late start on the season this year so I have time. Couldn't resist picking up more work. Probably going to be early to mid December before I start
The crimp is not suppose to be on the flat side. May work ok for coon, fox or bcat but would not trust for coyote. I made some retrieval cables and the flat side crimps would often fail when pulling. The ones crimped with a crimping tool did not.
I just bought a cable cutter and it's a piece of shite. 24 dollars at home depot that shit is going back won't even cut the small cable can't remember the gage. Everbuilt or some shite there called there junk need good one's.
Always enjoy watching people DIY, thanks😂

Great tip on the crimpers!
Very cool . That's a lot cheaper than buying a bunch. All it takes is a little time. Great information brother.

Just getting into coyote trapping here in middle GA. Good stuff, good video thanks.
Great stuff learning from you has improved my Trapline and also I aspired me to help share my knowledge as well, still very small but doing my best!
I have never used earth anchors but have been thinking about it the last couple years. Maybe next year I will give em a go!
The CAMO Cowboy Outdoors I started using them more for trap theft but not having to worry about something pumping out a rebar stake is worth it
@@TrapperJOutdoors, My thoughts exactly.
This is interesting the way your mending that! I know nothing about making traps!
Great info Trapper J. Diggen that shed bro
I’m gonna make me some crimpers like that. Good idea!
Them earth fangs are hard to beat

Can't wait till your out there brother.👊💀🍻 I didn't think about that for crimpers.
Nice video. I buy mine already made from FNT.
Coffey Outdoors nothing wrong with that it’s a lot cheaper this way though
Have you ever used pogo earth anchors? That's what I use here in Wisconsin on both my land and water lines.
Shane Hulburt never have I switch from rebar to wolf fangs probably 5 or 6 years ago
That's about the time I switched to using pogos. I make my own pogos instead of buying them. They are cheap to make
I need to get a hand swedger, never thought about bolt cutters and grind it flat. Right now it's me using a hammer on the cement. Lol
Boxie's Outdoor Adventures hey what ever works brother but I’d be putting a vise on the bench and pound on that
@@TrapperJOutdoors that would be better this old fat body does have a hard time getting up off the ground. Lol

Your making money bro nothing wrong with that
What size cable do you use?
