Your options are: - S4 (more power) - A6 (more premium finishes) I have A4 Sline, 2011, 1.8T TFSI from Japan. I am the third owner just over a month now (got it 2 weeks ago after fixed oil consumption issue). It's what it is, an entry level luxury "sport" sedan and it does an excellent job at it. RaceChip is an option I am looking at, it indeed has an underpowered feel but I can't hate nor find it annoying because I was aware of the engine while buying it. The silver plastic trim yes can be annoying but I am also aware that the A4 is an entry level, A6 is where the interior trim starts to get more premium.
Fyi in 2012 they sorted the oil consumption issues pretty well. The north american version of the car comes with alot more HP and for about 800 CAD for a stage 2 tune plus maybe 500 in hardware you can get some serious torque and hp numbers. It will completely transform the car. Still not S4 numbers but if you want S4 numbers you should get an S4...then chip it...for rs4 numbers...then move up to an rs4...and get a supercharger...and this will continue...forever... congratulations, you are now officially a tuner bro
U are right, hate seeing comments judging your “underpower” point by saying “well it’s 2.0” what did you expect, Man I upgraded from a a4 b6 1.9130 hp to this car, the 143 hp 2.0. You can really REALLY feel less torque , les acceleration , heavier steering wheel. I use to be stuck to the seat when I accelerated from second gear to third in cities, now it’s like the turbo has this major delay, and shifts are longer too
I have a 143 2009. I think power is fine, my other car is a mercedes e350cdi so fair comparison. Aux in. Mpg everyday is 40 and on run over 50. Feels solid. Cheap to buy and parts are cheap. It's a winner in sline spec. Still looks good.
