Best tip: avoid or at least dont write off or cut short a Vietnam trip because of district one. Especially avoid bui vien steet. (Đuong Bui Vien)
Chris has shown other places to go in Saigon if you really have to be in a big city but theres so manynother great cities for holiday and especially living. Food is good any city and district
The street opp the banh thang market was one of the streets that my wife and I chanced upon on our trip. This guy definitely gives good advice!
Went back to the street to get more stuffs today. Flying back home tomorrow. The starting price of the market now starts from 280k, when we were leaving the stalls they dropped to 150k. Go to the street opp and you get them at 50k lols

Bro...i discovered the backstreets of Ben Thanh market on my last trip three years ago, after getting ripped off (but still thinking i got a great deal) at the market. Other tubers have covered the 'no haggling' shops that are enjoyable to shop in. Now you know where i'm living in Co Giang , so i'm actually dropping in Bui Vein 2/3 times a week for lunch or a cheap meal and drinks , NOT on the main drag but again down the back alleys, well worth tourist exploring. Tourists are really picking up down there lately, business is kinda booming but more so at the weekend. This is exactly why the STEAK houses are gonna be lucky to succeed. YOU , ME and every money wise tourist is coming to Saigon for an affordable life or holiday, we sure as hell are NOT going to pay OVER western price, for a bit of cow, unless its a real special occasion. And yeah the cranes of construction sites are usually HIRED, so seeing them just sitting there for months and years makes no sense whatsoever. In Oz they count the number of cranes on the city skyline as an economic barometer but you cant say the same here. Saigon One in the city will turn into a kind of one of North Korea's empty Building Monuments. Stay frosty man ...........🍺🍺🍺

@@wadadli4sun only reason I ask is because from a previous video I recall him saying there was no touching allowed in Japan Town. Hence why I asked. Thanks
@@joeards2675Ok, fair question. I would say in general no, however it did happened that some girl(s) would sit close/lean towards bar stool and some consequetal 'touching', but not of the intimate kind. I usually go out with my buddy who's lived there for almost 25 years and the half dozen bars we frequent regularly, he knows the owners and staff by name. So naturally the staff would be less guarded with us.
I should add, that at the end of the day it's a bit of a game; they will lead on as much as possible without crossing the line to make you buy drinks. Just don't open a tab and pay each with cash knowing the price beforehand.
