I worked in Chrysler R&D when these cars came out. We all thought Chrysler should have gone to their parts bin and put a nice 340 6 pack in the Prowler.
Interesting, the 02 Prowler V-6 had about 30 more hp. than the Dodge V-8 of that year. Now what parts bin are you talking about? Today, they'd put variable timing on it, throw in a turbo and get 500 hp out of the same 3.5. It still wouldn't have a V-8. What is it with you guys?
@@dannysdailys wrong. The V6 in the prowler is EXACTLY the same one used in the 300m. It DIDINT have more hp OR torque than the 5.9 Magnum engines of the same years.
To me this car was a homerun 4 plymouth. When I look at them the parts are plentiful. all the parts are available at your local auto parts store. they' are cool and if an owner takes care of this car and keeps the mileage low and keeps them garaged when not driven and covered up and drives it some these cars will definitely go up in value. The plymouth prowler is one of the coolest cars Chrysler ever made.
I remember when these first came out. I was an immediate fan, regardless of people saying nobody liked them. I was disappointed that it wasn't a v8. but even then, smaller engines were really beginning to be taken seriously on the road course/auto cross. even on the drag strip vs v8's. the only thing these guys didn't do, that I would've insisted on from the start is a roll cage. of course it would need to be done for safety. but also, it should look good. and be shaped in such a way that it would go with the shape of the car
WOW. those cars look so good and having a hemi in it is just sweet. I don't really like the look of the shaker hood on that car but i can appreciate the work that was put into it...
Good stuff Sam. Every mod has a purpose. Did you see how tight that engine bay is? The goal of the shaker it deliver cold air to the engine. It's critically important with such a large engine in a tight space
Insanely cool. I love the Prowler and you've made it even better. Of course, you better put some steel in the boot, because you're still going to have that imbalance of weight towards the front end.
A/C was in and had to go, cost way less than your estimate, twin turbos explored but not available for the V6 i spent 2 years exploring every option. if your on Facebook, search hemiprowler and check out the fun! alot more details on the build etc. Its worth every penny. I owned the car 12 years. 6.1 more than enough the car only weights 2900 lbs vs 4500 in a charger etc
Love the setup. I have a 2001 Prowler and all I ever wanted was to find a tonneau cover. Mine has 95k plus and I have a new car title, bought car with dealer mileage of more than 23K. No major problems since I bought this daily driver. Any comments on a tonneau cover would be appreciated. Bill, Allen, Texas
The Prowler is by far, one of the nicest newer looking cars on the road. It’s hard to believe that this has a 6.1L HEMI (not a lot of room), must have cost $100k for the improvements and I would bet that it has no A/C and there is no way it can be very fast (Top Speed), it just can’t be set up that way. Again, nice but it’s not the way to go. Would have twin turbo it first and changed the suspension, if I were to spend that kind of money on that car. So as of today, its as fast as a 6.4L 300
Truth thanks for your comments this is a Mopar, with that the goal is stay on brand. Putting and Ls in a Mopar is like wearing 2 different pairs of shoes. It only weighs 2900 lbs that's 1000s less than other muscle. Doesn't need more power flys. Remember modern cars have computers. This one has 3 of them, body, Hemi and Trans, much better to stay on brand so things talk. Programming is not easy when it's custom
LOVE IT! Again what a missed opportunity from the factory. You guys made it right! Well done!

Awesome Prowler and nice work on the install and the Color combo is great👍🏻😀

They Dont Go up in Value- They stay the same Forever it Appears!

I understand it's function but I prefer the smooth look of the stock hood....
samuel lopes? 3

I'm waiting on a Hellcat Prowler
well its apparently a thing now
It is a thing now lol my baby is still stock, I don't think I'd survive swapping in a hellcat

This thing should be on Leno.
Man, Chrysler miss the mark on this Hotrod. If it was made today. It would have been done right! I still like this prowler. Shawn
Shawn Beck thanks been a fun journey was not an easy process but u years laster still a blast

Can we get any updates on this vehicle? I love the upgraded conversion..... Amazing, I love the hardtop
Darryl Jackson check out our Facebook page m.facebook.com/Hemiprowler/
You can get a removable hard top at www.theprowlerstore.com
I would think that the 3.5l V6 dual overhead cam design was physically around the same size (not weight) as the hemi.
Very cool!
Crazy wonderful car! Who wouldn't want it? But I'm thinking that I would not want to be hit on the driver's side door while sitting in one of those?
Niceeee

i think the 4.7 hemi chrysler made was called the wolverine. i think it sold at barrett jackson years back.
akane742 only 1 concept car with a Hemi called howler they did. Was never produced just a concept for sema
It was called the Howler.
Im thinking in todays world whike id oersonally love a 392 in this car, i think the hurricane motor would be perfect for this.
Fuck! Would be so more slick if you thought it was just a regular prowler. That hood though, gives it away big time.
PLYMOUTH Prowler
An LS engine would of been better because it's lighter and more compact and can be modded to really high outputs and has a huge market of parts.

Everything you said is true of the HEMI too. It's the Ford Guys who have to switch to Chevy motor's to go fst.
Brendan is super boring with his work. Sounds like he has a hangover. Very low energy. ROTFLMMFAO! ! ! !
