most of the games are just well known survival games which makes this list useless as for most of the people out there they have either already played or know about those games. People don't search for top survival games to find a well known game like rust or dayz but to find something new and interesting to play or hidden gems

Sorry, I can't speak for 100% of the player base, cuz there will obviously be exceptions. I have played games in all genres for many years and I knew about or had tried every game on this list. So no my opinion isn't "shitty", just cuz YOU disagree with it. Read my comment again it clearly says "most people", that doesn't include exceptions like you. It's not my problem you're not a seasonal gamer. So you're wrong.

WHAT ABOUT ICARUS? I am very disappointed, that this underrated game found not that attention, as it deserves. A massive Crafting and Skill UI, many missions and quests, different playmodes (Open World, Missions, Outposts) and very good DLCs. One of the best survival games out there!
this is a great video i love the no nonsense. exactly what i was looking for and so informative.
Subnautica 3 is in the works and confirmed to have optional Co-op. They are taking their time and I am glad, too many games get released half baked and full of bugs.
7 Days to Die, Ark and Rust are my favorite survivalcraft RPG. I am not worth my salt in Rust but I enjoy the resource gathering and base-building. 7 Days to Die is very fulfilling if you enjoy looting/harvesting and base-building.
Grounded is my favorite game of all time, Valheim is what I’d recommend to anyone I want to get into the survival crafting genre
I won't recommend rust it is very mental consuming u have to stay online most of the time so that you can defend a raid

Stranded deep is fairly old. I thought he was gonna post about a lot of the new ones.
Nonetheless, you’ll like Stranded. It takes a difference approach from your typical survival games.
Stranded Deep along with Green Hell are two of the hardest games I’ve played.

I just play DayZ which I can hold my own at, Rust which I cannot hold my own at and Zomboid which I always get too overconfident with and am usually dead by day 5.
My favorites: Stranded Deep, The Long Dark, Empyrion Galatic, Dying Light and Space Engineers. But Dying Light and Space Engineers aren't survival game at all :P Btw, u missed one of the best in my opinion: Stationeers. But it's a great list, thanks!

Got excited cuz saw decent number if games but yeah this is old news, literally recommended ark ase when ark asa was out same month. Thought i was gonna learn new games but got recommendations if games from ps3 era.
It's a list of best games available to play now. Not upcoming games or mediocre games. There might be a ton of "new" survival games that launched recently but most of those are rushed and unfinished or just plain bad. So, blame the developers, not the video. Also, "best" is always subjective so it pays to watch more than one video.

These are all the big name games of the genre. It's literally the exact same list you'd find in one single google search. for someone called "Game Grader", all you did was list off the games you scrolled passed, and gave a less detailed description than Steam has. get bent dude.

valheim is truly unmatched in many ways. grounded comes close but it really lacks biome variations

Ark is outdated compared to new survival games, rust loading screens are aweful takes 30-40 mins just to load there’s loads of problems I have with rust, and I played day z along time ago but it was so empty, might of changed nowadays idk, scum is fun but theres just too many better survival games, the only survival games I would recommend is the forest, sons of the forest, project zomboid, green hell, subnatica, raft, terraria and stranded deep

I wish open-world survival games didn't pride themselves on all the minutia. One game on Steam has bullet points of all the stuff in it. One of them was "cook food. Eat." Seriously? How the h3ll is that fun? They seem more like big time sucks than fun.

The devs are already releaseing expansion sized DLC before the game is even finished, which just seems greedy and some of the DLC costs as much as the base game. So youre helping fund development while the game is in early access and theyre out making add on content to milk you some more. Its such a shame really because apart from some bad optimisation and wierd invisible walls here and there, the game is pretty decent.

Hmmm it's a lot of genres combined, some of it is survival, or sandbox survival more specifically. But I wouldn't personally think of Terraria when I want to play a survival game.

@@danielhowe3516 I wasnt giving my opinion, I was stating facts. And as harsh as this may sound, your wrong opinion is regardless. SCUM is undoubtedly an MMO, this isnt a point of contention. There are games like ARK and Rust that have people moving the goalposts as to what that term represents, but being limited to 100 players on a server does nothing to negate scum from being an MMO.
You have more hours in scum than I do (402), but I knew it was an MMO in the first hour of gameplay

Space Engineers is hot garbage. Expect to download mods if you want a game and not a tech demo. Satisfactory should have stayed an epic exclusive because that whole store is about selling hot garbage. Also it doesn't belong on this list as it is not a survival game it is a subpar factory building game.
Valheim is the industry standard nowadays if you ask me. Looking into the future Enshrouded, Derilicts, and Nightinggale are going to be Valheim's sole competition.
