This song kinda has that so bad that it's good quality. The beat is addictive, and it's insanely catchy. However, without Paul Reynolds's guitar tone, AFOS is painfully generic.
@Robert 0077 I agree this song is catchy song I like it Well I like all their music and the new album is really really good with that orchestra i do wish they would make a whole new album with all new songs
I art directed this video! The band were so great to work with. We were laughing and joking the whole time. Fairlight loaned us the hardware for us to use as a promotion for their new computer imagery tech. Mickey Geoghegan directed. He is a fabulous director (Soundgarden: Black Hole Sun 👍)
This is a great little pop-rock song, but Paul Reynolds's absence is glaringly obvious. It's such a radical departure from the heavy new-wave sound AFOS became known for on their 1st 3 albums. I guess Paul Reynolds was a huge part of that sound.
His departure was pretty much why they disbanded for a time and never had another hit song...glad to see they've made up. Would love to see them tour again w/the 80's retro tours as a whole unit!
I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just surprised AFOS made a song like this. Also, you spooked me. :'( Seagulls are my worst enemy. Why you guys have to take my damn fries every time I go to the beach? :'(
She's got it!
Having been a huge fan of AFOS back in the 80s , this song was an absolute disappointment add to that guitarist Paul Reynolds quitting, this song marked the fall of AFOS

It's much deeper than just the lack of Paul Reynolds (though he is probably the genius behind most of their good stuff), Dream Come True is so terrible because it breaks their "extraterrestrial" personas which was what made the band so tantalising
@@MFitz12Oddly enough, this particular music production sounds like a lot of 80's pop music, "synthetic" sound was a popular thing back then. However, their earlier productions, the lyrical themes, the way Mike Score sang and even their music videos were just screaming "not from this world", and I absolutely loved it. I will forever cherish the first two albums, the third one was just ok, the fourth one was terrible and I haven't heard the fifth one or Mike Score's solo album EDIT: Ok, I listened to both The Light at the End of the World and Zeebratta. The fifth album still continues the same line of 80's pop music cliché and isn't that good though Rainfall sounds a bit like early Seagulls and it's hook is almost mildly catchy. Zeebratta wasn't good as well. There is a reason it was released as Mike Score's solo album and not under the AFoS name, as it has nothing to do with the essence of the band. The production values weren't high, it is clear that Mike produced it at home and played every instrument in it (another reason why it should be called a solo album). Oddly enough, The Light at the End of the World was released in 1995 and sounded like a mid to late 80's pop album which was outdated at the time and Zeebratta which was released in 2014 sounded for the most part of it like an electro/industrial 90's pop album, still outdated for the time. I guess Mike's musical calendar moves slower
He reminds me of actor William Forsythe... I am a huge fan of Flock of Seagulls but, this one is just waaay too much 80's up the ass in quick paranoid snippets of awful dance moves and production, They are more than forgiven though, It was the 80s and even the Stones made an awful album in the 80's.
Love this song, I have a special edition 7 inch single of it, its a Pic Disc with a 2nd Disc of the best of hits (well bits of some of them, so they fit on the 7 inch) got it from a Record fair about 10 years ago for £2 I think
Watching this video again I gotta admit the song sounds cheap and as though it was composed in a hurry. Much as I love loads of other tracks of AFOS and am a complete sucker for all kinds of 80s nostalgia, this is unfortunately the sort of thing that does not represent my favourite decade in a positive light and the sort of stuff that gives it a bad name!!
Without Reynolds they were pretty much done. He is amazing and very critical to there sound. I would love to see them on tour with the original lineup.
Yes they may be missing Paul best guitarist I’ve ever heard but mike score is a genius songwriter frank maudsley is an amazing bassist and Ali still rocks on drums do I wish Paul was still with them at this time of course but there is no bad song that mike score could write
Está rolita la conocí en los estelares de Polymarchs.... todavía conservó el cassette en el que grabé el programa de una hora de música ... medía hora de pausa.....en cosmo stereo 103.3 el punto de encuentro... buenos recuerdos
I believe live performances could maybe saved this song from complete oblivion. Pardon me all the fans but this tune is really annoying, they have much better than this one here, right?
Just want to know what people in 80's era think about this songs when it was released. IMO I love it. The music was very cute, Easily to be theme song in any shows :)
Great band,...great song i love 80' the best era...!!
Agree I love the 80’s and a flock of seagulls is one of the best bands
Cómo amo esta canción!
I love 80s
German Gonzales me too
Jody Watley Is The Guest Vocal On This Song You Can Hear Her Voice
Inconfundibles los A Flock of seagulls

For some odd reason me and my cousin love this song 😂
This song kinda has that so bad that it's good quality. The beat is addictive, and it's insanely catchy. However, without Paul Reynolds's guitar tone, AFOS is painfully generic.
Indeed.
Madonna and Omar Lopez ♥ ❤ 😍 💕 💓
Excellent.
This song makes me really sad. They used to be so good! Till the USA happened and the lead guitarist stopped being part of the band.
Dude I thought they ended forever! This comment made me happy :)
Also, yeah, I guess it’s just not my cup of tea
@Robert 0077 I agree this song is catchy song I like it Well I like all their music and the new album is really really good with that orchestra i do wish they would make a whole new album with all new songs
MTV made these guys! Without MTV in the USA, AFOS might not have gotten much farther than Liverpool!
NO WONDER PAUL LEFT! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!
Que nostalgia los 80
where is the guitar lead
Tim and eric anyone?
My grandma is dancing with this and she is 84, what a lovely synth sound totally 80's great video and song!!!
This is more 80's than the 80's.
agreed! lol
🤣
The best track of the whole 80's!
Comment doesnt make sense since this song IS actually from the 80s
I art directed this video! The band were so great to work with. We were laughing and joking the whole time. Fairlight loaned us the hardware for us to use as a promotion for their new computer imagery tech. Mickey Geoghegan directed. He is a fabulous director (Soundgarden: Black Hole Sun 👍)
This video is brought to you buy Mario Paint!
Yes :3
Not ColecoVision or a Commodore 64?
how many hours did they spend at a commodore 64 to make these graphics

Absolutely!

I like this song, but it doesn't match AFOS style. Looks and hears like something Wham! or Dead or Alive would have made in the 80s. :/
Monika Radzaj Well... You know.... First songs...
I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just surprised AFOS made a song like this.
Also, you spooked me. :'( Seagulls are my worst enemy. Why you guys have to take my damn fries every time I go to the beach? :'(
It’s some hardcore selling out for Flock.
Also why don’t we call them Flock instead of AFOS? It’s easier
@@arturhours There are many types of 'flocks'. We could just call them Seagulls.. Or Afros... Heck, Mike Score Hairstyle lads.
@@augakem How about A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS

This is a combination of Go West and Thompson Twins. Sounds nothing like FOS. It’s not bad though
girls were pretty in the 80s
boys too
True
Boys were sexier in the 80s
Not in my school.

I love how artificial this song and video are, almost like they’re a parody of the 80’s despite actually being made in the 80’s
Seem to be short a certain guitar player, which takes the soul, the essence right out of the band.
Paul Raynolds is so fucking great and underrated, came here just to comment that
It's much deeper than just the lack of Paul Reynolds (though he is probably the genius behind most of their good stuff), Dream Come True is so terrible because it breaks their "extraterrestrial" personas which was what made the band so tantalising

I love and hate every bit of this video?
Reynolds where did you go!!!

He left two years after this was released since he was exhausted from all the live performances.
This sounds so painfully generic I love it
Good song
God i miss the 80's!
I don't care what anyone else says, this song is mint
A_Neck_Beard_Kurt _Russell YES!
"Mint"
I heard that expression in Super 8, which was a movie set in 1979.
Was Mint a popular term in the 70s or 80s?
This is a great song, I love flock of seagulls, not heard it before. Where's Paul Reynolds?
@@lutonbusdriver2315 Paul Reynolds left the band after their 3. album was released in 1984 :/
Agree a thousand percent I love this song hell I love all a flock of seagulls songs to me they are one of the best bands ever
What I like most of this vis is the image quality and the brightness, much better than any other in that same year
I swear this looks more like a parody of the 80's than anything that could‘ve possibly come out of the actual 80's
I like the video so much

Just go with it,
Just let it happen,
Dont fight that urge to 80s dance.
Duran Duran in aFlockOfSeagulls and aFlockOfSeagulls in Duran Duran... So where is Paul Reynolds ?
Unfortunately A Flock of Seagulls could have done much better. Mike Score had his way but damn it a pure disaster.
Just one the reasons why the 80s music genre is the best ever.
let me guess... this song end's just on the point he's saying "she's got it"?
Oh, this is fantastic. It's like they tried to make a video with a glitched copy of Mario Paint.
