Firstly,I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MGMT because they have a deeper meaning in most of their songs. This one in combination with the "we care", as I see it, is a way of criticizing humans who have become immune to humanity, strangely enough, and scientific progress at any cost has become too important for "us" to care. Listen to "we care", I think that one is the potential view of what we consider "aliens", but the actual aliens are we, because we don't care. Humans have become the enemies of themselves.

They played (Grutu) Just Becuz at a DJ set in Houston after their show got rained out. Bummed but was also psyched they would play such an old track
