All you needed to do was activate your Bonemass power when you were being hunted! But having them fight the Fulings is great also! Wolves also can't climb so you can usually find somewhere to avoid them.
Watch out: The two new crops you'll find in the villages only grow in the plains - if you plant them at your base they'll die, so you should make a well protected spot in the plains to farm them. Small plains islands are super safe, or a hilltop with a tall steep dug out edge works well. Bonemass is a huge help with wolves & villages, but letting the wolves (or other creatures...) clear the villages for you is awesome - if you can avoid getting hit 😉. You won't really use the wishbone for anything other than silver so you can leave that behind to save a spot. Happy plainsing! ☺
❤🎉 you are progressing quickly nice! I have yet to kill moder 😅 You will not find crypts in the plains, you should do a drive by of the villages because it has really useful resources.
If you want a fun side quest, you could try and tame a lox (the big hairy beast) using cloudberries. Just trap one in a big hole and start feeding it like the pigs.
The the root harnesk can be a good choice for exploring the plains. It's pierce damage modifier helps take the sting out of Deathsquito attacks. They can be sneaky and come at you seemingly out of nowhere. You will have to take a village on eventually, as they have resources you'll need( unless you want to try a snatch and dash approach. But that relies on you knowing exactly what to look for). Frost arrows can be your friend in the Plains. Even if your first shot doesn't do the job, the frost effect temporarily slows your foe down to make it easier to get a second shot off. Blue bubbles mean a Fuling shaman. They can put protective shield around themselves and other fulings. Your best bet for taking on a village is to scout it out and snipe them first (they'll be the ones with a staff). While it is not absolutely necessary to have a Plains base, you'll at least need a Plains farm.
When I saw the 2-star fuling get pulled, and then the "4 Dreaded Words of Death" pop up at the same time, I yelled out, 'that is the most unfair thing I've ever seen in Vaheim.' That's the only raid that takes place when you are out and about and not at a base, so it's just more brutal. Leveraging the competing factions was a great move!
Welcome to the plains, Caster! Looks like you're settling in well -- everyone dies that much in the plains, it's pretty much like that in there. I suggest that you find the Bog Witch in the swamp if you can. She has a number of things that will be useful in the plains when brewed or cooked. (I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that the Witch has stuff to use in cauldrons and kettles.) The ooze bombs would have totally saved you against those wolves! But on the bright side, all those wolf pelts will come handy for upgrading the Fenris gear, you need lots of them. Using the inhabitants of one biome against another is really smart, and it's one of my favorite tactics too! Especially if you can find a spot where the plains border the Mistlands...
Hunted by wolfs is an Event, like The ground is shaking. Events are on a timer - usually about 2minutes? - durning which a certain number of monsters spawn. If one is killed, or leaves the area a new one is spawned. So killing them is not how to win, living until the timer counts out is. My tactic is to get up on a roof or rock (like the one on your right at time stamp 27:30) and shoot them with the bow. Second best is use the terrain to limit how many can come at you - like that little ruin you were in at time stamp 29:30. Most monsters don’t jump. Third, is to run out of the red area on the mini map, though the monsters that have agro-ed on you will chase you. But new spawns will not- if you are far enough away. Thanks for the adventure.
For "You are being hunted" you can get up on a structure or steep rock that the wolves can't climb and then pick them off with your bow. It doesn't have to be very high.
easiest way to tame a lox, dig a massive, deep hole in the ground with an earth ramp going down into it. Lead the lox down the ramp and once inside, get out and fill the ramp in with the terrain tool. Drop some cloudberries in and wait around 30 minutes. try taming 2 if possible as they can breed.
All decked out in my favorite gear!! Fun times getting that abomination to play with the lox! The pillars are a fantastic source of stone! Oh and cloud berries have a few recipes. A plains farm is a good idea. 🤣You are being hunted just as you are messing with a village🤣🤣! When you get a hunted raid build a pillar like you did for Moder. Do it right away! Another fun episode! Thank you.
You can also tame wolves. At night you might even get a one or two star wolve. Once they are tamed the can follow you and will fight for you! You have to be close by for animals to tame.😊
- The swiftness of the sword really comes into play in the Plains, I feel. - With the benefit of hindsight; I think you might have pulled off loitering and circling around the village even longer while the event was on. As long as the event is ongoing, the wolves will keep spawning. When you left the vicinity of the village they all focused on you again.
A little plains base would be great, you can put up your farm for plains tier plants there! Just make sure you fortify it with stone or better, because Lox and Fulings make quick work of your wooden fence.
Some tips when you clear out fuling camps: -use the huntsman bow (low aggro range), so you can take them out one by one, -kill the shamans first, idealy when they have no shield! -be aware of the berserkers and star-fulings, they are tough enemies. Upgrading your sword would be helpfull, too. And when you are getting hunted: use bonemass as protection, you can also block them as long as possible, because they will respawn while the event is aktiv. good luck with the camp caster, I think there will be nice rewards.😊
Fenris' armor is really strong, personally I rush to get it and I keep it almost until the end of the game, it's ideal for temporizing, Odin that's how important it is to temporize in Valheim raid mechanics: a red zone appears on the map (the raid appears randomly and you must be in the area of the workbench, the only exception is the wolves which are triggered only if you are not in the area of a workbench), if you leave the area the raid timer pauses. it lasts 1 minute 30 seconds and the game spawns a predefined number (6 wolves for example), if you kill the monsters before the end of the raid they will always respawn. the easiest thing is to temporize until the end of the raid. go on rocks it works well against wolves in general) and if you want a tip for base defense I advise you to plant a row of trees to prevent the trolls from getting any closer yes you will need to make a base in the plains but the biome is pretty it's cool
If you hear the sound of bubbling, do not venture near. That is where the mortal enemy of the Fulings and Lox live. They are a dangerous foe to be reckoned with, but can help you with clearing out a village.
You almost executed the perfect meta for the Hunted event there! 👍👍 Being hunted shouldn’t be too bad if you can kill wolves in one or two hits, find flat ground, don’t move too much, keep searching for the next wolf to get to you, slash slash kill, turn to next attacker, rinse and repeat. Shouldn’t be too difficult to take down 30 wolves that way. Alternatively, let the Fulings kill ‘em all for you! 👍👍
With the villages best is to use the hoe and build a little pedestal and shoot everything from the top. Also kill the magician first because they heal stuff!
I still recommend practicing parrying. The knock back and stun from doing it successfully is the strongest mechanic in the game. But, based on the way to default to holding up the shield, you may prefer a tower shield. They have better block power and need to time a parry.
I think the ‘hunted’ event only triggers in the mountains or plains. It doesnt help defeat the mobs but at least you can relax if your not in those biomes. When i say relax I mean worry about other events 😂
Fully upgraded root harnesk in the plains makes you pretty much deathsquito proof, just look out for the torch-bearing Fulings. Also, you still have not learned to use the structures around you to gain safety/tactical advantage during events like, “you are being hunted.” 🤠
We're all shouting 'food, FOOD, eat some FOOD!' 🤣

Beware the angry black gold, Texas tea 😮
Oh a good way to neutralize wolf packs jump on top of boulders

You ran past a lot of structures that can save you from the hunt, just jump up on them.

Really, Caster! Parry the deathsquito first, then attack with weapon...
Yeah, this, I was rather surprised that time he elected to use the secondary sword attack on the incoming Deathsquito. He pulled it off though!

Pierce resistance from Root Chest Armor is super good against the Deathsquitos.

I have had that event happen in Ashlands too. Those poor doggos! 😆
time to get used with successful parry :9
you still need to grab the map where hildar stands, infront of her table there is a map that gives u important locations.
Also, why not cape early in your video? Its not much armor but is some armor.

use bonemass!!!
Are you hunted and what do you need Bonemas for???
Let's go!
