Very undervalued watch. Legit history, fine horology and great classic look.

Well done review and much enjoyed! I was not aware this movement does not hack. Interesting that Rolex kept it that long without having that feature given the nature of the Daytona and its intended use. Looking forward to more reviews!

Zenith timepieces, great manufacturer won many awards for accuracy than any other Swiss manufacturer. Fabulous.

When I want to see a watch review on You Tube I especially want a minute-and-a-half of Chariots of Fire intro music first...

That's not how a tachymeter works. It guages how many of something occurs every hour. If it takes 5 seconds to perform a stroke of paint on the wall, you can perform 720 strokes per hour.
You are referring to a telemeter, in which you are still wrong. You wait till you see the explosion (or lightning, etc). You stop it when you hear the explosion. that gauges how far away it is.

Could a tachymeter be used to determine how far away a lightning storm is? Press on flash, press again when hear the thunder?

You'll want a telemeter scale for that. The El Primero Stratos Flyback has it. 45mm case though. Not for everyone.

you just need the chronograph for that, speed of sound is 300 m/s

God bless them though that they gave it decent Water Resistance, and Lume. Some folks like to wear their watches.....and Zenith seems to get that. For years, Rolex was the only company that seemed to understand that even their dressier watches were worn daily, in all of life's activities.

    Tachymeter, not 'tachyometer'

If only it comes in 42 mm case with keeping date window at 4:30
the available 42 mm version is not as gorgeous as this one.

and I wish the open-heart one came in 38mm not only 42mm! lol

Does this watch have a screw-down crown? Or is it push-in?
