Hi sir, This video is very helpful. Now, I'm simulating differential relay using Digsilent but i can't show characteristic. Could you help me? Could you make a tutorial video about differential relay in version 15.1.
There is no point in doing it if you are just going to run a short circuit. If thats the case, the relay will always operate for in zone faults and not otherwise. It makes sense to draw the characteristic only if you are going to study the transient performance of the relay considering the sources of error, for example ct accuracy and saturation. The other problem is that the relay models in digsilent does not include the saturation detection algorithms that most modern relays include, so you probably would need to extend the model yourself to be able to visualize something close to what the real relay would do.
