RG408 So true. I used to work at a convenience store that sold lottery and lotto tickets, and people who bought scratch-offs would stand in the parking lot and scratch the tickets, then come back in and exchange for more tickets. As Tony Atlas once said: it's not how much you make, it's how much you save. A lot of the big name wrestlers seem to make a lot, but as independent contractors they're responsible for all their expenses, the WWE doesn't pay for their flights or hotels, they don't pay for the wrestlers health insurance or anything like that, that's all on them. And if you start getting too much in the "Rock & Roll Lifestyle" you can find yourself in the red real fast.
You wouldn't know Ric Flair was broke judging by the fact the guy's worth over 6 million $. Most of the people on the list were actually bit players and not stars.
He failed to actually mention that it's Vince that keeps paying for Flair's debt and I for one am glad he did cuz I would hate to hear that Ric Flair was broke. People talk a lot of trash about Vince McMahon and some of it is warranted but that's only because the good things that he does he does behind closed doors and he doesn't ask for praise.
😂 I met Virgil at a con years ago and he started talking about Ted DiBiase "missing a flight" and not being able to attend. I didn't realize that was a "thing".
I had the opportunity to work with several 'big names' of TNA wrestling. What amazed me was the one wrestler who's character was a wild man (sorry, no names), was the most sensible of all the wrestlers on the tour, getting his money and sending some home to his wife and some to his daughter who was at school in Germany. At the other end of the scale was the apparent wise man of TNA, who sadly got his pay and went straight to the casino and got blind drunk, every night. I guess some people just don't consider the future, or they simply don't understand financial planning.
I really REALLY disliked Diamond Dallas Page the moment I first laid eyes on him as a manager in the AWA with his 'diamond dolls'. He just radiated sleaze beyond his gimmick to me, and I couldn't believe it when he actually became a popular wrestler years later. I still hated him. I have to say that from all accounts, I have never been more wrong about a man. The help he has given to dozens of broken down human beings, the detritus of pro wrestling, is legendary in all the best ways. Good on you, DDP and if I ever run across you, I've got a diamond cutter coming my way and I won't flinch.
What wasn't said was at that time Taker was the WWE figure head wrestler . He was considered the WWE 's top dog and biggest draw ,so yes he gets the biggest check. But $13000 for one nights work isn't bad.( and he didn't mention about hIs regular contract .).
It's believable. Listen to Scott Hall and Nash talk about Bret Hart as champion. They were pissed he "only" accepted 400k (he didn't seem to care, he wanted to win matches and look good). Reason is, the top guy makes the most, so no one else in the company would be able to negotiate for more until Bret raised the ceiling. Adjusted for inflation, 500k in the early 90s is 800-900k today. Taker could easily be making double that for WM, the highest pay day of the year.
Of all the wrestlers to work for Vince McMahon over the years, Mark Callaway aka The Undertaker was perhaps THE most loyal. McMahon appreciated it and reward him handsomely. Makes sense.
We just had Ric Flair at art annual shortest Saint Patty's day parade. And hot springs, Arkansas. He walked through. Really quick, just seeing woo. Don't get me wrong. It was cool to see him, but I could tell he did not want to be there.
If taker got 500K for working on the undercard for that Summerslam then guys like Savage, Warrior, Bret and Bulldog probably got close to or more than a million each. Thats insane for a single match.
No wonder Flair tried to sue the WWE last year for the use of the title "The Man" for Becky Lynch's character. It seemed petty and made no sense to me considering how good the WWE has been to him over the years and his very close relationship with Triple H but now that I hear about his history of financial problems it makes sense.
Lanny Poffo looks pretty smart for staying at the Days Inn and the Super 8 while the other guys pissed away their cash on high priced accommodations. Poffo isn’t broke and begging for cash via autograph sessions and the indie circuit!
Hulk Hogan lost almost his entire fortune during the dark period in his life when Nick wrecked his car racing and his friend is a quadriplegic due to injuries suffered in the wreck. And his divorce from Linda.

John Wilburn He said in a shoot that the biggest amount of money he made in a year was 120 grand so he was probably never rich to begin with, good money, but not rich
When I was barely a teenager, I worked a job at a hot-dog distributor. A very small one at that. We got hired to cater an event. Actually the opening of a car-wash just outside of Flushing NY. handful of miles from Shea Stadium. Looking back, it was just odd. The catering was like two hot-dog carts. There were a couple of events. Lots of people (obviously turning out for the free food). And Jake Roberts was scheduled to appear. He did. He sat at a table for about an hour or two, signing autographs. I think he charged for them. Back then he was still a big name. But as I recall, he didn't look too good.
One thing to consider with all the big stars of any domain is that they have the capital or earning potential to recover if effective applied and the necessary time to do so. When your on top, don’t blow your money and the best earning years. Keep it in check! Invest it to maximize your passive income potential. Lots of great stories about sports professionals who dominated on and off the field.

Oveida Sinclair Why? Because Elizabeth partyed with him and couldn't handle her drugs? I'm sick of everyone thinking Luger was responsible for a grown ass woman. Chris beniot literally killed his wife with his bare hands. Luger called the authorities to try and save her.
Not a very mature man, to be sure. But, he was so successful for so long, that it'd be fair to say he got paid for being a charismatic, diligent self-made attraction. Pro grapplin' is about putting asses in seats, and he did that. That he believed his own bullshit is utterly common.

6 million in cash + 7 million owed = broke
Your "net worth" & cash on hand are always light years away from each other.
You can't just waste it sooner or later time catches up to us all..........
The Hulkster would be on this list were it not for the Peter Thiel backed lawsuit against Gawker haha
i am sure hogan gave the tape. to set up the court date... suing issue. to get him money again. what a fraud...
if true it was genius, he got paid millions to bang a hot babe
din't he loose a shit load of money due to his infamous divorce, my understanding was that he was in need of money
Christobal Colombo hulk hogan is rich
Hull Cogan
He failed to actually mention that it's Vince that keeps paying for Flair's debt and I for one am glad he did cuz I would hate to hear that Ric Flair was broke.
People talk a lot of trash about Vince McMahon and some of it is warranted but that's only because the good things that he does he does behind closed doors and he doesn't ask for praise.
Now we know who made Vinny return from his supposedly retirement, Ric Flair.
I can see your channel hitting over a million subs. Keep up the awesome work. Your colorful video style is verry easy and pleasing to watch!
😂 I met Virgil at a con years ago and he started talking about Ted DiBiase "missing a flight" and not being able to attend. I didn't realize that was a "thing".
Funny lol
Why didn't you buy a autograph. You greedy fool.
@@satanspit4101 😂😂
I had the opportunity to work with several 'big names' of TNA wrestling. What amazed me was the one wrestler who's character was a wild man (sorry, no names), was the most sensible of all the wrestlers on the tour, getting his money and sending some home to his wife and some to his daughter who was at school in Germany.
At the other end of the scale was the apparent wise man of TNA, who sadly got his pay and went straight to the casino and got blind drunk, every night. I guess some people just don't consider the future, or they simply don't understand financial planning.
"Ric Flair Finance" 😂 😂 😂
Tom Billington's story is one of the most depressing in pro wrestling history.
Damn Taker pulled 500k for summer slam even in the 90s .....he prolly gets over a mill a year now just for mania
Brian McMinn That's what Kamala claims. Doesn't mean it happened. I'd be doubtful considering the era they worked.
What wasn't said was at that time Taker was the WWE figure head wrestler .
He was considered the WWE 's top dog and biggest draw ,so yes he gets the
biggest check.
But $13000 for one nights work isn't bad.( and he didn't mention about hIs regular
contract .).
I would regard Kamala and Perry Saturn as the two saddest cases of when wrestlers went broke
Kamala doesn't even have legs. That's rough.
@@satanspit4101 *Didn't have legs. He's dead now.
@@twistedbliss58 oh damn. RIP to him 😢
well i read where Flair had big money problems because of how he spent money on designed clothing and rolex watches
he sure does
Yea and his women ha!
His shoes cost more than your house!
Flair couldn't hold those alligator shoes down!
rick flair cries and retires 100 times a year .. he’s so over the top
That's right, he retires about every 3 days
Flair is broke because of wooooomen
You know what would be ironic is if Irvin r schyster or ted diabase were broke. But still amazing video. Keep it up
Oh man. I nearly pissed myself laughing when I saw the pic of "Slick Ric" on a street corner. Another hit.
We just had Ric Flair at art annual shortest Saint Patty's day parade. And hot springs, Arkansas. He walked through. Really quick, just seeing woo. Don't get me wrong. It was cool to see him, but I could tell he did not want to be there.
Thats what happens when ex wrestlers think they will never be broke but I guess it happens
If taker got 500K for working on the undercard for that Summerslam then guys like Savage, Warrior, Bret and Bulldog probably got close to or more than a million each. Thats insane for a single match.
Floyd Mayweather
poor virgil
Soul train jones!!!! 😂😂
Virgil is the one feel sorry for the most sad
I popped for “from the Total Package to the Total Pauper,” lol. Poor Lex.
He never sue Bobby Hennan for calling Goldberg "Da Man"..
Lanny Poffo looks pretty smart for staying at the Days Inn and the Super 8 while the other guys pissed away their cash on high priced accommodations. Poffo isn’t broke and begging for cash via autograph sessions and the indie circuit!
I like how you got Luger and Macho’s shoot names mixed... geezus...
"styling, profiling, limousine-ridin', jet-flyin', kiss-stealin', wheelin' & dealin' son of a gun"
Brokeass old man
Ricky Morton should probably also be on this list as well
Hulk Hogan lost almost his entire fortune during the dark period in his life when Nick wrecked his car racing and his friend is a quadriplegic due to injuries suffered in the wreck. And his divorce from Linda.
Steve F He was one 350 million from Gawker. The went brankrupt but he made some money.
Flair 's problem was other than divorce was making 2 million 1 year but spending 4 million. Finally he has someone controlling his spending.
I remember back in 2005 I was talking to former professional wrestler Bobby Fulton of The Fantastics he said that Ric Flair owed over $1 million dollars to the IRS and was engaged and set to marry his 3rd wife at the time
Matt Hardy went broke hehehe
Yeah, it's a shame he was DELETED from the list.
Why is that funny?
xrun187x oh. thanks for clarifying. That's funny.
he commited "Deletion" suicide
Now he's "woke"
You forgot one Ricky Martin which is Ricky Hodge you forgot him don't forget he went broke too and nobody ever talks about the WWE Hall of famer Ricky Martin why or take the bruiser which is my uncle
Isn't Rocky Johnson Dwayne Johnson's dad?
zEN60 yes
Absolutely.. Great Wrestling family.
He was, he is unfortunately dead now.. May he rest in peace..
I wonder if Ric Flair is collecting Social Security.
ha ha
lez luger, dam that man is not even a shell of himself.
Aaron Garnett he is just a shell now
Lex deserves what he got after essentially killing Miss Elizabeth.
Aaron Garnett Father Time is undefeated...it just defeats some sooner than others. Best thing about his story is the fact Mr. Pfohl (Luger) was 'found' and now has peace that will last for eternity...i.e. Shawn Michaels
Joe McKim He didn't kill Liz she decided to drink and take pills. He could have died just the same. He isn't innocent buy any means but he didn't kill her.
Yeah fuck lez he a dick anyway..
what's all that money Ric Flair should have got his teeth fixed.
How did Ricky Morton not make this list?
John Wilburn He said in a shoot that the biggest amount of money he made in a year was 120 grand so he was probably never rich to begin with, good money, but not rich
The list is "10 Wrestler who went BROKE", not necessarily went from riches to rags.
This is the movie "The Wrestler" to the core.
Virgil is now playing for the Milwaukee Bucks and calls himself Khris Middleton.
That's not nice
Update: in case anyone wants to know or doesnt know....the lawsuit they keep mentioning was dismissed...
Hogan has been taken to the cleaners and back a couple of times.
I doubt that. Hogan never had money problems. Maybe before 1980 he did.
Shit I remember when I was at the wrestler s autograph ceremony and Virgil was begging me for a $40.00 picture taking. He said please I needed new brakes on his truck. Smh
Shit man you give him 40 and get a photo from a legend
isn't Virgil a Jr high teacher though?
Luger is sickening to look at, he is right up there next to Christ Beniot was one of the most despicable wrestlers of all time.
Oveida Sinclair Why? Because Elizabeth partyed with him and couldn't handle her drugs? I'm sick of everyone thinking Luger was responsible for a grown ass woman. Chris beniot literally killed his wife with his bare hands. Luger called the authorities to try and save her.
its easy to assume things when you dont know all of the details. poor comparison, btw.
Christ Beniot gets such a bad rap, just because his name is similar to Chris Benoit...
Jaques you get a L for that, not clever, not witty, spelling police, f'ng hilarious smh
now thats just sad
and kinda sexy
The rolling stoners... wut...

I ran into vergil at a mall trying to sell wwe memrobilia and autograph pic of himself🤣🤣
Lex Luger is the only wrestler whose religious epiphany I find to be genuine. Can't even respect the others.
I met Virgil at a Comic Con a few years back, he didn't overcharge overall he was really sweet and even posed for a photo for free.
Did you call Lex Luger Lanny Poffo? lmao
Lex Luger's real name is Lawrence Pfohl
But...everything in Flair's life suggests he put himself there. You're not much of a man if you can't control your damn self.
Not a very mature man, to be sure. But, he was so successful for so long, that it'd be fair to say he got paid for being a charismatic, diligent self-made attraction. Pro grapplin' is about putting asses in seats, and he did that. That he believed his own bullshit is utterly common.
I don't get these guy's they blow their money, then do go fund me page's and expect the public to fund them? What? they think we all live for free ?
No, that people are stupid. They are not wrong just that not all are morons, but enough to support go fund me pages.
I agree 100%. Jake the snake Roberts and Scott Hall made millions of dollarsAnd they pissed away on drugs alcohol and God knows what else. Then they make a go fund me page and fans take their hard earned money and pay for for these peoples medical issues. I don’t get it. I wonder how many go fund me pages Jake the snake Roberts and Scott Hall made donations too.

How the hell do you have a partial amputation? Either it is amputated or it is not
If you cut off half your foot was your foot amputated or partially amputated.
Haha, Flair went broke, that's funny.
What the hell happened to the weekly review of smack down or raw? Am I thinking of the wrong channel?
what about hacksaw jim duggan i have not herd much from him whats he up to
Yo it’s me it’s me it’s DDP.
