I was confused who would think tank is fixable in 5v5 and then I remembered this was the solider heal pad is the best heal ability guy.

Thank you for the breakdown and coverage on the implications of the changes. Now excuse me as I vent about how these changes make me feel.
I'm an Overwatch conservative. I think that this games' new design philosophy, where they're trying their hardest to compensate for the balance disaster that was removing a tank role, is undermining the simplicity of the original design and that the game is much worse because of it.
I haven't played for the last few seasons but it looks like they're constantly fumbling and backtracking, trying to force a square into a circular hole. If I have to think about what passives each player on each team chose (assuming I'm understanding the potential changes being tested here) I will simply never play Overwatch again.

Yeah, not much more to be said than this lmao. As cool this sounds, it would almost definitely be a balance nightmare and completely unfun to try and play around. I already have a bunch to think about with how fast-paced Overwatch is, I don't need the added complexity of specific passives for each player on the enemy team that is dependent on how long they've been playing one character.

Honestly that's fair, kind of why I'm hoping that even if it is just tanks, the different passives are pretty basic and won't require trying to remember a bunch of new things about the game. I lowkey hope at some point that the current balance team gets a chance to try rebalancing 6v6 since the last 2-3 years of OW 1 it felt like it kept getting worse every update and drove away a lot of tank players (I Used to play both tank and support in GM-T500, the last couple of years playing OW 1 I ended up playing 90% DPS with friends). The game really needed some rebalancing to try and make 2-2-2 role lock work and it never really got that chance it feels like.

you 6v6 doomers pop up in every single overwatch video despite claiming to hate the new format, implying you dont play anymore, so no clue why theres comments like this every single time. You either still play the game anyway or keep searching for it.
if you think OW1 had better balance you're beyond clueless or is just high on nostalgia, fact is, the original devs just made a fun silly game without thinking of what it would become

@@comq01 I played the first 7(?) seasons of OW2 and got burnt out. Wasn't fun for me as a tank main anymore. I'm commenting because I've been subscribed to this channel for awhile and I was interested to hear about new changes. So can you chill with the weird speculation and projection about my intentions?
I *personally* don't like the direction it's going in. If you do, good for you! I have other games to play. It's as simple as that.

I'm froathing at the mouth with the idea of builds and passives!
    Sorry in avance.
    -----------------------
    Tank:
    - Knockback reduction.
    -Crit reduction.
-Flat damage reduction when near 2 or more teammates.
-Health packs have doubled recharge rate when used.
    DPS:
    -Cooldown reduction on kill.
    -Full reload on kill.
    -Less heal on damaged targets.
-Speedboost when having your abilities on cooldown.
    Sups:
    -Speed boost out of spawn.
-Double heal when target has less than 50%.
-Less damage dealing, less damage taking.

One thing I always liked was the way paladins was. It has what you are saying but also each character abilities can be altered. Like genji you can change his dash cooldown or movement speed after a kill. Or his spread on his weapon. Or even gain more health from healers while deflecting. So you can have the same exact characters but built around different abilities. You can have a Moria with more of a flank dps or build her around just straight healing.

I think blizzard needs to remove role passives, add back player 6, and down play healing. Reduce health pools for everyone, revert the projectile hitboxes.

As someone who was really into HOTS, I really like this idea! A lot of heroes in that game had similar talent options to each other which functioned kind of like optional passives you could grab. Here are some ideas for support passives (just pure spitballing).
Faster Movement Speed while HP is above 75%
Increased knockback and damage on melee attacks (think Zen's kick, probably weaker)
Final Blows reduce reload speed (nerfed version of old DPS passive)
Allies get payload heal when standing within 1 meter of support hero

  • @MsQueenOfDance
    @MsQueenOfDance 6 місяців тому +1

I was thinking about a support passive where you gain a speed boost when not around enemies / not taking damage. Something that could help you get back into a fight quickly or move from target to target easier if you aren't getting hit.

The DPS Passive won't really fix the tank issue. Additionally, I did not mind the DPS Passive. I think the main problem with the passive is the way you apply it.

however it would be difficult to balance again, since somepasssive would be shit on tanks while being extrem stron on other tanks

    • @Lee-fw5bd
      @Lee-fw5bd 6 місяців тому

yeah... that's the point of being able to pick... there's no way to perfectly balance this stuff but the goal is to give characters that don't benefit from the current set up a way to benefit at all other than just switching characters. it could also introduce another vector for balancing.

tank isn't bad. a lot of players just find the role exhausting to play and for ranked players specifically, you're usually the scapegoat for bad games. I also don't really have an issue playing tank (granted, I mostly play all roles in quick play) but tank could definitely be more fun.
