Guessing languages is really fun, and I am advanced level in Dutch, knowing over 8.000 base words, so I immediately recognized it - in Dutch it is waarom and in German it’s warum! It would have been amazing if the videos from Easy English also had other subs available, like Dutch / German / Norwegian / Swedish / Icelandic / Portuguese subs etc, so that one who watches them for entertainment (but is an English speaker) can learn new words in one of the other pretty languages, including the Germanic languages and the Celtic languages and most Latin languages! And, there should also be Easy Gallo and Easy Frisian (for the 3 Frisian languages) and easy Limburgish and Easy Breton (and for the other Celtic languages) and Easy Luxembourgish and Easy Occitan and Easy Galician and Easy Catalan and Easy Faroese and Easy Icelandic etc - I want to learn all these languages, and I noticed that it’s not easy to find a lot of videos that teach them, so it would be really helpful if videos about these less known languages would also be made in the near future!
As a Bulgarian who has been learning both Turkish and Greek for years I'm kinda sad that almost nobody recognized them but also I'm proud I can speak rare languages... 😅😅😅 My reaction when I heard these languages was like "GREEK! IT'S GREEK!" or "TURKISHHHH"! My sister was like: 👀 Ok... I couldn't recognize anything because you were screaming at the 3rd second. 😅😅😅
Great episode! I got right all of them, but that's not fair, I watch all the Easy Languages videos even if I don't speak a word of that language, so my ears are accustomed to them 😅. By the way, it shocked me a lot that all the people commented on the high speed of the Spanish audio, I didn't noticed it at all (of course, I'm Spanish, that helps a bit, but anyway, I didn't get that impression...) 😮.
I agree, this was a clip from some easy spanish video and they're speaking at nowhere near the pace of their normal everyday speech. If this was too quick, then imagine how much of a blur real street spanish would sound like to everyone who took part in this.

I love foreign languages😍😍😍 I was not able to guess Greek, Polish and Turkish Loved the woman while speaking about italians 🤣🤣🤣 6:25 Greek is really incomprehensible to me😵😅🤔
I think, it would be interesting if Mitch did something like maybe daily items around the house in English or stuff he is wearing, or even activities done throughout the day. I had that’s a good way to learn language and something, I am trying to get in the habit of doing so. For example, glasset “The glass” in Swedish. Clothing, I am wearing strumpor “socks,” skjorta, “shirt.” Or what do, I do around eleven PM, sov, “sleep.”
1. French (Canadian so, I grew up learning English and some French growing up). 2. German. ( I learned a bit in high school because one of my best friends is mostly German so, we learned for a bit in high school. Also, I used to listen to German Metal like Rammstein and listen to Tokyo Hotel. Also, props to Kari from “Easy German!” I recognize her voice) 3. Italian. ( I had an Italian grandfather). 4. Russian. ( I have been learning on and off for years). 5. Spanish. ( I have been learning Spanish off and on for a while, listen to a lot of Latino Urban Pop, and watch Spanish horror movies).
My guesses: 1- Dutch maybe German 2- French but I didn’t have a chance to hear before the guy said it lol 3- german 4- Romanian? 5- Italian but again I couldn’t hear it over the people speaking lol so I just went with them 6- Russian 7- Lol didn’t get a guess in 8- spanish specifically the Spanish of Spain 9- Turkish or Romanian? Lmao. I feel the most sad about not recognizing Greek bc my yiayia knows Greek, but she never speaks it with us. For context I am from the us.
I think the British are generally well informed of other European languages. If the same survey is conducted in the US, you may get a completely different result.
Why did they all thought it's German??? Dutch is actually quite different and not even that similar to German (I'm a native German speaker btw) and Dutch people pronounce words much differently! It's just the spelling that's similar! German is much harsher and can sound quite hard tbh Nice vid tho 🤙🏼
I guess it makes bigger difference when you're a native speaker ;) but for random listeners they may sound similar. It's the same case when it comes to Russian and Polish
Because maybe they sound very similar to people that aren't German? It's like Slavic languages all sound similar to non-slavs. Also, many people have never heard dutch before
@@shaunmckenzie5509 Agree, although it’s baffling to me that people from a Northern Europe country find languages in other Northern European countries less familiar than Southern European languages. I really would have expected the opposite.

@Berk Yavuz yes that’s right! I think the clue was too easy. Shouldn’t have included the script. 😀 Have you heard Tamil language and how do you find the language as compared to other languages? I mean in terms of sounds and accent?
@@EasyEnglishVideos Ah shucks, should have made the challenge more difficult. I think the script was a dead giveaway, isn’t it? 😀Have you heard the language and how do you find the sounds and accent and Tamil language overall?
@Berk Yavuz That’s cool. Yes, I’m Tamil from India. I speak 3 languages English, Tamil and German. Currently I’m trying to learn Persian. How many languages do you speak? Where are you from? Have a nice weekend ahead!

That's interesting how they took Turkish for Hungarian... As there is a theory that Hungarian is equally Ugric and Turkish in character!
Türkçe çirkin bir dil değil. Son derece nazik ve naif bir dildir.
