Kangal as the dog that is considered to be the strongest in the world ranks 10th in the list of the heaviest dogs, 9th in the list of the tallest dogs, quite low in the list of dogs with high energy, and his intelligence is thought to be above average. So, there are a lot of dogs that are bigger, heavier, more intelligent and more energic than Kangal. But what makes this breed special is his bite that is the strongest in the dog world. Generally the Kangal and Canē Corso are the only dogs with a bite force of 700 or more on most charts. I would take either one of these over several other breeds mentioned in this video but I do lean heavily towards the Cane Corso.

yeah, the wolves they kill are called coyotes here in the US. I wouldn't pit a solo Kangal against a big North American Grey Wolf or an arctic Wolf. There's a reason ranchers don't use any dogs, including Kangals in wolf country here in the US....our wolves will kill them.

They seem small in videos because dogs are too big considering dogs in USA so it is an relativity illusion. Kangal is between 50-60 kgas Alaskan Wolves are between 45-55 kg. Yes Kangals are heavier than Alaskan wolves.

The most ferocious dog I've ever encountered was an abused (abandoned) English Mastiff. He was rescued by a mastiff breeder because the dog was going to be destroyed. He had to keep him in his own enclosure. Apparently a red nose pit bull got into his enclosure and attacked the mastiff, and before the breeder could get him out the mastiff killed it, but from what I'm told, it wasn't a fight. The mastiff clamped down on it and it was over in seconds.
I was gonna say the Kangol is second in the dog breed when it comes to bite force English mastiff would destroy a Kangol the mastiff it's alot heavier and on average slightly larger than the kangol in terms of hieght and weight
I have two English Mastiffs. They are 220 pounds and 255 pounds. The fact that an EM killed a pit bull doesn't surprise me in the least. A similar event happened in England in the 1990's where a PB attacked an EM. The PB latched on to the EM's neck and the EM tried to ignore it. When the EM had enough, he turned to the PB on the spot and clamped down on his head until he pierced the PB's skull. The PB didn't survive.

@@smoothdancer6 All the mastiff breeds are amazing and powerful dogs. Pitbulls have this reputation and ones bred to fight are very dangerous. I have seen a Malamute destroy a pit in seconds. The mastiffs and the ancient breeds like kangal and malamute are not to be taken lightly under any circumstances.
@@c.san.8751 All pitbulls are dangerous, not just the ones bred to fight. Most pit bull attacks are from family raised dogs. You cannot "love" the fighting instinct out of a pit bull any more than you can "love" the tracking instinct out of a bloodhound or the running instinct out of a greyhound.

They forgot a lot of breeds. How about the Brazilian mastiff and the Neapolitan mastiff and even the great Pyrenees. Many able dogs but the Kangal is really tough. BTW, I love the Akbash.

You all can say what you want but a game pitbull is a living nightmare for any breed hands down his endurance and tolerance for pain plus he won't never back off is beyond any other breed they might win the fight but will lose the war a game pit will take all the energy from these big dogs and then more then likely kill them
The pitbull is only good at its own weight class.. once you increase the weight of the opponent the pitbulls win streak begins to decline rapidly and by the time you get anywhere near the weights of these dogs.. the pitbull isn't even in the running for a W. The pitbull is rendered useless and possibly dead within a minute or so into any of these large breeds.

No they wouldn't. All 3 of those would get pinned immediately and thrashed. Most do not know that a "TRUE" Turkish Kangal has many of the same lineages the akita has, hence the curved tail. The Kangal also has Greyhound which explains its freakish speeds and ability to reach the speaks really quickly.

It's not the full breeds you need to worry about it's the mix there probably plenty of beast like mix's out there that could beat most dogs no matter the breed I just saw pictures of a kangal

Yea some ppl thought the same in Kosovo and they started mixing the ilirian sheperd with every thing possible like great growing and it turned out they where by faaar weaker than the Pedigree ilirian sheperd. This dogs are just perfect created by God allmighty the way they are and mixing them brings no benefits.
It seems like everybody's got their own opinion and none of them agree with this about the kangal dog but for me personally I'd love to have a kangal dog I have Antonio Shepherds and I'd love to cross a kangal dog into them I just can't find a kangal dog because you can't get them shipped out of turkey or any place else unless you go to Greece some guy told me I would mainly just like to have a Kangol to protect me and to breed my females Antonius to but everybody's got an opinion so there's my two cents worth I like the Kangal dogs

With an avg. 500 psi bite force and athletic prowess and combat drive a good dogo would definitely be a solid match for a Kangal. You don't need a 700psi bite force to crush a rival dog's leg or throat. Fortunately, most Dogos are performing best in the hunt as packhunters against big game. Pack hunters shouldn't be pitted against one another.

If you know about Dog Fighting then, you know people bring out B.K. that weight around 70-80kg instead of 90kg+ which won't last even 25mins in battle most of the time while the "Lighter" one can and have been seen fighting 40mins+.

A larger APBT gamedog at 60-70 pounds will grab that neck so quickly it will shock you. A true pit dog with experience will grab the esophagus and kill the larger dog. I’ve seen it happen numerous times folks. I’ve also seen a 55 catch weight female pit tear up an Anatolian Shepherd. Don’t kid yourselves, truly trained APBT pit dogs are something very few people can believe until they see one that has been conditioned and trained.
Not only that, but most of these so called kangals are no where near the size shown on youtube. A large rottie, pitbull, amstaff and numerous other breeds could destroy a kangal.

Tibetan mastiff can only beat a pug and a chihuahua maybe. Looks can be deceiving, they are slow, and can only fight or run for about one minute before running out of cardio. They have no pain tolerance and no endurance whatsoever. A Kangal can run for 3 hours and fight for over an our.

i have 2 Presa Canario's..Pres's are EXCELLENT family dogs as well as gaurdians.
Indeed according to discovery channel they have tested all dogs including hyenas and wolfs and Kangal had the strongest bite force of all. But my friend have a Turkish Kangal and they are so sweet and protective with family members when my 4 year-old daughter feeds him he takes peace of meet slowly out if her hand to not scare her… but when we feed him he takes meat as fast as he can…. Very very smart breed.

Doesn't matter, own a Kangal/Anatolian, 145#, 32" at shoulder; Had 2 break ins about 5 years ago, Since I got Rocky, The only people who knock on my door are my relatives, 2 friends and one UPS guy who made the smart decision to be his buddy since he was a pup/ He visits him and brings him treats even when not delivering here. The FEDX guy is trying, brought him a large bag of expensive dog food that broke open in his truck a couple weeks ago. At 3.5 years he's a beast, but also a big puppy with Family. Raised and bred Rottweilers for over a decade, and this dog incites praise and comments everywhere he goes, surprisingly the most common comment is," What a beautiful/pretty dog. I have a large pen I put in the back of my truck and people's mouths drop open and pull up next to me and ask with a smile is that a horse or if he's a lion. My house and family are much safer now.

Coyotes (usually < 50 lbs.), especially the smaller western coyotes, are little bitches in the dog world. Individually they are not impressive. Now a pack of coyotes is a different story.
Red Foxes can even fend off a single coyote.
English mastiff should be on there good ones that aren't just fat are far superior to the Kangal my male I have now is a little over 200lbs and still growing he is solid muscle

If it is for stamina and agility a dogo can face any dog , and for people who don’t know some dogo can reach 140 and as tall as a kangal, the only thing that went against a dogo is that they don’t have extra furs and skins

A real Turkish Kangal is highly unlikely going to lose a fight against any of these except for maybe the wolfdog and that depends on what breed the dog part is of the wolfdog there is a reason why the shepherds use them
There are so many breeds of dogs that could destroy a kangal. Because most kangals are no where near the size shown on youtube.

Meh dogs bred for fighting may be able to take on a Kangal but they’ve been bred for aggression rather than for protection and that aggression being directed toward their own family isn’t uncommon.

The American Pit Bull is still the baddest dog out there.... every major kangal has lost to a good apbt when they went against it... It is still ranked internationally number one

Cane Corsos??? I know understand how these guys didn't make the list not only do they have the 3rd strongest bite force at 700psi but being a mastiff breed they are one of the most athletic dog breeds there is these guys are the 15 the fastest dog breeds which is crazy for they're size don't know how in the world they're not on there!
I don't know cane corso seems like a force to be reckon with but he seems little bit too small to take on the kangal. I have seen video of Kangal facing a pit. Kangal won that fight relatively easily. pound per pound dogs like pitbull, cane corso,and presa canario are very strong some of them are also very aggressive but kangal is both very strong and relatively large. That said cane corso is larger than pit and like you said has bite force of 700psi while pit has bite force of only 235psi so its hard for me to say if cane corso would be able to take on the kangal. but you are right I never owned cane corso but he seems very powerful dog as well.
@@apack6254 depends on the dog how it's raised how it's trained I'm not oblivious to the fact there's some pitbulls that would kill a Cane Corso just like there's Cane Corsos that would kill a pitbull i don't agree with dog fighting period i have a Cane Corso I've owned pitbulls if I had to choose which one I would want to protect my family if a intruder broke in my house which one would stop the intruder the fastest not even close not even a debate Cane Corso is my choice Everytime!
@@rileyjothecorso9732 I agree with you I'm against dog fighting as well. while I don't see anything wrong with comparing dogs strengths actually putting dogs against each other in a fight (especially one to the death) .that is often times extremely cruel. And people who do it belong in jail.

I had a Boerboel name Zulu boy he was over 80kg one day 2 pit bulls attacks us while taking a walk . The was built like a beast easy defended us .but I will not want him to fight a kangal end of story
the fact that no one talks and knows about Sarabi dog breed makes me sad :). well sometimes there are beasts yet to be discovered
