    Thanks so much for this! After tons of research on powering my 6k Pro, I found this video and ordered Smallrig's adapter plate. Bought NP-F970s from a store in the city. The camera went on a real-world short film shoot yesterday and our conclusion is that having four NP-F970 batteries is enough for peace of mind for the whole day. (Especially when there's no way to charge them on shoot.) And we also bought four chargers so that the camera caretaker doesn't have to wake up in the middle of the night to switch batteries :D

    FYI I ordered 2 of these batteries to power a Pixapro 350D GlowPad LED studio light. They worked perfectly and powered the light at full power for 1 hour and 58 minutes exactly.
    Great batteries at a good price. 👍

    Use this same battery and plate and love it. My only issue is the one you mentioned about not being able to truly tell how much battery you have left. Can also be annoying when you have a bunch in your bag and can't tell which ones you've used already on a shoot. I just ordered the version from this same company with the battery status on the back. It was $26 for 2 of them!

    I use this solution - NPF external power plus I keep a battery inside the camera. Tip : When the NPF is powering the camera via the weipu the power indicator (top right of the camera LCD) will say AC. When the NPF runs out of power the internal battery will take over automatically and the power indicator on the LCD will show the battery symbol. When you see the battery symbol appear you just need to swap the empty NPF for one that is charged and this new NPF will then automatically take over powering the camera and will also charge the battery inside the camera. Using this method you should never have a situation where the camera shuts down due to lack of power.

      I have a different problem. The battery inside my Bmpcc 6k pro is empty before the external one, I mean, my camera shut down because the internal battery is over but the external one still have power. . How is it possible ?

    Great Video! Thanks for all the info. I've heard that you should watch the Volts on the back screen. Tap the battery icon on the back screen to show volts instead of percentage and keep your eye on that. When using external batteries, don't let it go under 10.8v. apparently it can damage the camera over time. The battery compartment can run on 7V, but the connector is made to run between 10.8 and 20V. Love your channel.

    I noticed the dual charger has a built in USB cable, but at the same time it has a micro USB jack (female) and there is an included cable.
    There is no logical reason to just have 2 cables if they don’t have an additional purpose. So you can either:
    1. Use 2 chargers to charge faster or
    2. The second one is a power OUT cable, so you can use the charger as a battery plate, to power your devices directly from the charger.
    I received mine just an hour ago and I didn’t have the ability to test anything yet.

    Hi, i got the tilta plate, but with the npf 790 only last me 50 minutes, and with the 550 12minutes. Then there is a strange electric noise and the camera turn off. If i put and lpe-6 battery inside the camera the noise is really loud , when i try to record something the noise intensify so i just turn it all off. I´m looking all over internet and nobody has the same problem. Maybe i got a really bad copy. I try to contact tilta but nor reply, i´m going to buy a pencil microphone that need phantom power (it can´t run only on the canon lpe); thats why i was thinking that maybe i just got a bad copy. Did this ever happen to you? Great video by the way i also got the Powerextra.

    Do you get more battery life out of this with the Pocket 4K than you would with the 6K?

    • @itacatv2146
      @itacatv2146 11 місяців тому

      Look for the specs of both cameras and look at the consumption. If for example the 6K consumes twice the amount of power, you should get twice the amount of battery life on the 4K (in the theory). If they use the same internal battery, then it’s even easier, because you can just check him much you get out of the battery in the 4K as compared to the 6K.
      Sorry for not being able to give you a complete answer. I don’t use BM cameras. I use Fujis for video, but I do plan to buy a second hand BMPCC 4K in the future. I just have to research the high ISO capabilities, to see if I can get a cleaner image compared to the Fuji Xtrans sensor/processor.
