    The solution with the 980D battery seems to be a somewhat hit n miss for some people. For me it has worked great but a few people have reached out to me and told me that it didn't work for them, Because of this I can't recommend that solution anymore, best wishes arber.

      I think it's because of the 7.4v output from the battery. Doesn't the BMPCC4k require 12V minimum if you're running it continuously?

    • @jonasvetsch6416
      @jonasvetsch6416 4 роки тому +3

      Yes, since NPF Batteries only output 7.4 V and the BMPCC requires 12 V you could damage your camera on the long term by providing it not enough voltage.

      7v is still good enough to power Nucleus Nano’s motor

      DO NOT feed 7-8v to the 2-pin power input. That takes 10-20v! If you want to use the power directly from the NP-F you need a dummy battery.

    • @francesfreeman8574
      @francesfreeman8574 3 роки тому +1

      @@christianschmeer Hi there, by dummy battery do you mean one that goes into the canon battery slot with a cable hanging out to plug into the NPF?
      Does anyone know an NPF battery that has 12V output?
      many thanks!

  • @jorchogonz8996

    Thanks for this incredible video.
    Third option: NP-F980D battery on your monitor and then share the power of that to the camera it self through the DC out of the battery.
    In this option: How is possible a 7.2V battery output can feed a 12V camera input?
    Shouldn't it be a 12V battery the right battery for this type of solution?
    Many thanks

      BMPCC voltage inputs are 10.8 to 20v in the side input and 6.2-10V for a dummy battery so either one could be used depending on your application.

    hey ! I wanted to use same NPF batteries as you with DC out but read that's it's actually STRONGLY not recommanded as it only outputs 8.4V and the camera asks for 12V.
    It can really damage the camera ! I tried it and had sudden shutdowns while recording
    same for the Tilta plate the 12V output is for the camera and 8V is for monitor and not the other way around !

    My favorite solution: Canon camera batteries. I carry about 8 in my camera vest.
    Why do I do that?
    1. 3rd party batteries are plentiful, cheap, and good.
    2. Because it's the lightest set up I can get for hand held shooting.

    Hey Arber mate, I’ve recently purchased the 98wh Nano 2. But haven’t had a chance to test out it’s performance fully yet. How many hours are you getting out of it? (With the BMPCC4K) I have a wedding coming up soon, and I’m wondering if I would be okay for a full day of shooting (if I’m intermittentently powering off the camera between shots).

    Great review! I am considering the BMPCC4K/6K, and one of the obvious concerns is how to power it. As I already have the Tilta Nucleus Nano, their cage with control side grip interests me. How bulky would it be to add their V-mount "cage" below the camera cage? Seems like it would be a bit bulky, but a good way to power the camera, a monitor and add rails/matte box when needed.

      @@ArberBaqaj Thanks. Looking into this more it does seem like the BMPCC4k requires at least 12V to run it safely. In theory I guess you could use the Tilta plate in conjunction with the 980D though...although I'm not sure if the battery could then be used to power a monitor using it's DC output or not?
