Hello, I have the same system, and I was wondering if the doorbell transformer installed inside the master “board”? And do you know if it’s compatible with Ring doorbell? For some reason my Ring is not getting the power, however, when I attach the two wires manually the bell goes off. So do I need to replace anything, or I simply need to install a separate transformer for the Ring?
Hi kevycb: There isn't any 'doorbell transformer' in your IM3303 - The Chime Module (an electronic board) is part of the Master Station, and is not powered 'separately' - You need to watch 2 of our Videos: ua-cam.com/video/t6YswmDNVyI/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/8LXCcLr_HHA/v-deo.html Chris
Good evening! Are you still repairing these? We just bought a house built in 1975. The system did work for the radio in all rooms…but now it automatically turns itself on & off, seeking an FM station and showing a code of 1C.
One of the remote room intercoms was not working. Thank you for your step by step video. When I removed the wires on the back of the speaker, dried paint was covering each of the ends of the copper and silver wires from a previous room remodel. I scraped the paint off the ends and reattached according to the video. This did not solve the problem, but I feel like I am getting closer...
Thanks for the videos. I have a a NuTone IM3303 that has a morse code clicking. I shut the power of for 12hrs and turn back on. Unit will not do the clicking for maybe 2 days than start again. The noise seems to becoming under the top circuit board when the unit is open looking across the unit. Any suggestions what to try to possible fix the unit. Have 9 speaker and 3 door bells. on the system. Was installed in 2000. Thakks
Hi 1944 Badger: The clicking is from the Audio/Intercom Relays in the IM3303 Master Station - Do the following: Unplug the 4 cables that connect the IM3303 to the Terminal Board - Reset the IM3303 - Wait 3-4 days to see if the clicking comes back(it probably won't) - If the clicking problem is gone, it not the IM3303 that has a problem - it's 1 (or more) of the Remote Stations or the wiring that connects a Remote Station to the Master Station that's causing the problem. In that case - follow the troubleshooting in this Video to find the culprit - The difficult part of finding the problem is that the clicking only occurs every few days - so the waiting time between reconnecting each cable will be long - Chris
Hi, can you reset the speaker without disconnecting the wires you mentioned? My speaker has been working just fine up until this past weekend and I'm afraid to touch any wires. I'm hoping the reset will work but need to know if I should just reset or disconnect the wires and then reset?
Hi lurtriciawheatley: Yes, you can perform a Reset at any time to see if it solves the problem with your system. Your IM3303 is a low-voltage system ( only 16 volts) and the Black Ribbon Cables and the wires that connect to the Remote Stations do not actually have Any Electricity In Them. I would never show people how to do something that is dangerous to do. If you need more help, it would be best to contact me directly - Chris nscompany@msn.com
Hi Chris, I have another question regarding my IM3303. Is there any way to just replace the bottom door that covers the intercom controls? As you know there 2 drop down doors. Mines on the left got broken so I'm hoping I can just replace that. Is that doable without having to replace the entire master?
We had a lightning strike something over the weekend and it messed up a lot of our electronics including our IM3303. I is at 20 years old because that is when we bought our house. I have tried reset (no go), there is a red light on in the back of the front housing. It looks light it has D405/R413 beside it but I can't see it very well. Is it gone? Thanks!
from your vidio i was able to get my master statiom working. i have a couple bad remote speker with a 62143 curcit bord. it looks like a pretty basic bord but i have not been able to figure out whats wrong. using a mulit meter it seems the capacitors and resisters are good the potentiometer also seems to be good . in not sure how to check a switch or if you even can check them? do you have a vidio on the remote sperkers im not seeing . the bords look good at least i dont see any corosion.
Hi Robert: Your IM3303 is a 3-Wire System - On 3-Wire Systems the coil in the Speaker Cone is part of the Control Circuit for the Intercom Functions. If your Speaker Cone has failed - you will not have any Intercom Functions when pressing the button - of course, you will also not have any Radio, since the speaker is bad - Switch Boards rarely fail, except for outdoor units that get wet - The pushbuttons can become noisy from wear - they can either be cleaned or replaced - Here's links to those Videos ~ Cleaning: ua-cam.com/video/COruBSRkgCY/v-deo.html Replacement: ua-cam.com/video/d3k_ivdanhI/v-deo.html Also, We have NuTone Speaker Cones if you need some Chris

I have an NuTone IMA3303 radio/intercom system. Wondering if a Nutone ISA-445 series speaker is compatible with that? I tried to hook it up with the wires I had, but it doesn't seem to work. The speaker I'm replacing only had 3 wires, there are 6 possible screw attachments for those wires. Is this possible to make work with my current NuTone system or no? Thank you.
Hi John: No, the ISA445 is not compatible with your IMA3303 System in anyway - The ISA445 is a 6-wire Remote Station designed to be used with a IM / IMA4406 or it can be used with a IM / IMA4006. You need either a IS335 or ISA335 Remote Station - Chris
The sound of my IM 3303 is distorted when I play my classical music station here in Florida. The sound seems to be swinging from lower to higher. What kind of problem could that be ? Antenna ?

Hi blackout260112: Nah, I don't think so. The Ribbon Cable Connectors snap-in firmly and they need a good tug to unplug them. After all, I am a Trained NuTone Service Man who has unplugged probably 10,000 IM3303's 😉- Chris
Chris, that was a great video. Very well done, concise and full of real good step by step debugging steps that are easy to follow. In my systems the master station works fine but just about all the volume and push button switches on the speakers (inside and out) produce a lot of static when used. I saw your comment about using DeoxIt D5 but wanted to know if I should attempt to remove the small circuit board from the speaker enclosures (IS-335 and IS339) to get access to the switches and volume control knob before applying the D5. Just put a couple drops on or do a quick spray? Thanks!
Hi Dave: Here's a link to our Video that shows how to clean the controls in your Remote Stations: ua-cam.com/video/COruBSRkgCY/v-deo.html There's no need to remove the station from the wall and remove the Switch PC. This only open up the possibility of marking up the painted wall (yes, it will happen) and it doesn't enhance the cleaning in any meaningful way - Chris
When i pressed the rest button and turned on the intercoms for the other rooms(in hopes to connect with them), i kept on hearing a chime. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Hi user-me-7rbnm3e: Here's what you can try - Turn the Circuit Breaker that the Master Station is on - to Off - and leave it off for 24 hours (truly, 24 hours) then turn it back - if that solves the problem, you're good to go - If it powers up in the same condition - you will need to contact me directly - Chris nscompany@msn.com

Hello, I have this systems in a home we recently purchased. All of the speakers work with the radio stations, but the intercom feature does not work at all. I would especially like to have the intercom at the front door. Do you have any suggestions? Should I try to reset the system? I haven’t removed the panel on the Master station yet. Thank you for your guidance.
My entire system works fine, radio and all. The only issue is the master station door talk and inside/patio talk doesnt work. I can hear from any station in the house, but I cant talk back using the indoor or door buttons. I hear clicking and they hear clicking but its like the master station has no microphone capability. Sound comes through fine though, radio transmits all through the house, door bell works and master station can hear just cant transmit speech.
Hi KnightDriveTV: I am going to assume that all of the Intercom functions work correctly from Remote Station to Remote Station and from Remote Station to the Front Door Station - If this is incorrect, the following may not apply at all. The first thing you need to do is make sure the System Wide adjustments are set correctly - The Volume Controls on ALL STATIONS, Including the MASTER STATION need to be set to FULL VOLUME - The adjust the Intercom and System Volume to proper levels - Now test the Intercom operation and see if it's different. - If the problem still exists, continue on. . . Next clean the Room-Control Switches behind the Left-Hand Door on the IM3303 - Here's our Video that shows how to do this: ua-cam.com/video/dsTiNPNb30s/v-deo.html If these 2 step don't solve the problem try performing a RESET on the Master Station - Here's how to do this: ua-cam.com/video/hJ7hSia0d7A/v-deo.html If the problem still exists after trying these steps, there is an electronic problem with the IM3303 and you will not be able to solve it yourself. You can contact us directly if you're interested in having the IM3303 repaired - Chris nscompany@msn.com
Does anyone know how to fix finding the remote stations. On the remote station status switches i can't find the remote station for two rooms. I cant identify the correct switch for them and no sound plays out of them. I found the other rooms but haven't found these two. Any suggestions?
Hi Kebab: How many Remote Stations (inside & patio) does your system have? The IM / IMA3303 System has the ability to have some Room-Control Switch's to have "doubled-up" Remote Stations (stations 1,2,6,7) for a total of 13 Stations. - Each Remote Station should be wired directly back to the Master Station (not looped) - Open the Master Station - count the number of connections on the Terminal Board - Compare this to the number of Remote Stations you have (this number should match) Did the 2 non-working Remote Stations ever work before? A simple test is swap a Know Good Station (from another room) into the locations of the non-working stations. If the non-working locations work with the temporary station - the original station has a problem. If it still does not work - you either have a wiring problem or it's disconnected at the Terminal Board (or both???) If the 2 non-working stations are outdoor Patio Remotes, they probably have failed Speaker Cones - Chris

Our intercom door talk function doesn't work and never has since we bought this house in 2013. House was built in 1995. Everything else works, so I don't know what could be the problem. We did have a repairman try to tell us that because we don't have a landline hooked up it won't work. Sounds like nonsense to me. What could be the problem?
Hi Schelle 7000: The most common problem would be that the Speaker Cone in the Entry Door Station is bad. This is fairly easy to determine - Here's a Video that shows what to do: ua-cam.com/video/lSreNRYYAhE/v-deo.html The nest most common problem would be that the wire that connects the Entry Door Station to the IM3303 is damaged or bad - Here's a Video about how to check that: ua-cam.com/video/aYHthKFeNDg/v-deo.html There is also the the possibility that the IM3303 has a problem (not as likely as the other 2 choices) This would not be a do-it-yourself repair. Finally, not having a telephone land-line has nothing to do with this problem and who ever came out should have been able to check for problems 1 & 2 in about 15 minutes - Chris

Everything works, but the volume for the radio on all the systems and even on the master is at very low. I put all the volumes up but the radio still plays faint, but the telecom volume is loud. What to do?
Hi Jimkey Daniel: I would check to see how your "system volume" (behind the right-hand door) is set - it could be set to low. Typically it would be set between 11:00 - 12:00 - your remote stations should have their volume controls set to maximum (the master volume as well) If that doesn't correct the problem - there could be many things effecting the music volume - Chris

Hi Robert: Your IM3303 is a 3-Wire System - On 3-Wire Systems the coil in the Speaker Cone is part of the Control Circuit for the Intercom Functions. If your Speaker Cone has failed - you will not have any Intercom Functions when pressing the button - of course, you will also not have any Radio, since the speaker is bad - Switch Boards rarely fail, except for outdoor units that get wet - The pushbuttons can become noisy from wear - they can either be cleaned or replaced - Here's links to those Videos ~

Thanks!

There's no need to remove the station from the wall and remove the Switch PC. This only open up the possibility of marking up the painted wall (yes, it will happen) and it doesn't enhance the cleaning in any meaningful way - Chris

- If the problem still exists, continue on. . .
Next clean the Room-Control Switches behind the Left-Hand Door on the IM3303 - Here's our Video that shows how to do this: ua-cam.com/video/dsTiNPNb30s/v-deo.html
If these 2 step don't solve the problem try performing a RESET on the Master Station - Here's how to do this: ua-cam.com/video/hJ7hSia0d7A/v-deo.html
If the problem still exists after trying these steps, there is an electronic problem with the IM3303 and you will not be able to solve it yourself.

- Each Remote Station should be wired directly back to the Master Station (not looped) - Open the Master Station - count the number of connections on the Terminal Board - Compare this to the number of Remote Stations you have (this number should match)
Did the 2 non-working Remote Stations ever work before? A simple test is swap a Know Good Station (from another room) into the locations of the non-working stations. If the non-working locations work with the temporary station - the original station has a problem. If it still does not work - you either have a wiring problem or it's disconnected at the Terminal Board (or both???) If the 2 non-working stations are outdoor Patio Remotes, they probably have failed Speaker Cones - Chris
I can change FM an AM station but my radio is not working. What is the problem?

Very greAt video
Hi arturo: Thanks - Chris
Our intercom door talk function doesn't work and never has since we bought this house in 2013. House was built in 1995. Everything else works, so I don't know what could be the problem. We did have a repairman try to tell us that because we don't have a landline hooked up it won't work. Sounds like nonsense to me. What could be the problem?
Hi Schelle 7000: The most common problem would be that the Speaker Cone in the Entry Door Station is bad. This is fairly easy to determine - Here's a Video that shows what to do: ua-cam.com/video/lSreNRYYAhE/v-deo.html
The nest most common problem would be that the wire that connects the Entry Door Station to the IM3303 is damaged or bad - Here's a Video about how to check that: ua-cam.com/video/aYHthKFeNDg/v-deo.html
There is also the the possibility that the IM3303 has a problem (not as likely as the other 2 choices) This would not be a do-it-yourself repair.
Finally, not having a telephone land-line has nothing to do with this problem and who ever came out should have been able to check for problems 1 & 2 in about 15 minutes - Chris
@@northsideservicecompany3567 Thank you for responding. I never believed that telephone line stuff. Sounded like a way to upsell us.
