- I test the newly constructed cycle lane in the city, which is part of the Addis Ababa Corridor development project. Despite the city being crowded with delivery bike riders, the culture of walking on the pavement/sidewalk is still not up to standard, and people even prefer to walk on the main car road. This is a work in progress, and people need to learn and adapt before they get fined by the government.
Cyclists also need to ride on the cycle lane and gently teach people to use the sidewalk rather than the cycle lane.
I've heard that cyclists should ride on the left side of the road, but I'm having a hard time believing that, as it wouldn't make sense to me to take the opposite road from the cars going in the same direction. If anybody has more information on this, please let me know in the comments.

How???? 😂 other nations have safe bike parking areas. Most lanes start from residential areas. Safe parking on streets, workplace, homes are required......this is ineffective

I was not talking about the fake Christmas lights, I am talking about the bike lanes. Ethiopia has a lot of problems, but you have roads for cars don't you? So why would't bike lanes/biking work with time? Also, btw, Addis Ababa is actually not as lawless as you might think.
