Cool video to show how to change your oil on your CB500F. I use Castrol semi synthetic blend with a HiFlo Filtro oil filter. The K&N filters are nice but pricey.
@@GeordiLaForgery Sorted now, had to get a bolt and basically screw it through the filter, assuming last person to change the filter didnt put oil around the seal, so it fused
@@Mangermouse I think I will be having the same problem shortly but I'm going to replace it with a filter that has a nut on it so it's easier next time.
About to change my oil. I believe there are torque specifications for the filter and drain plug. I think something like 22 lb. ft. for the drain bolt...16 lb. ft. for the filter? Can anyone verify for me?
Hello, Thabk You for the upload. Been following Your channel for a while now, startes with mitsubishi lancer guides. Quick question, how does that tool to open up an oil filter called?
go in motuls site type your bike and it will show you what oil viscosities you can safelly use keep in mind the first letter is for when the oil is cold i use 5w40 in the winter and 10w40 in the summer on my vstrom since its cheaper to buy (here anyways) the second half is for the operating temperature meaning the oil behaves like 40 weight oil in the same temp. You can go for a higher viscosity but you will increase drag inside the engine because the oil is thicker and loose a bit in mileage for the same reason i personally dont change for a heavier viscosity oil unless its very hot outside or the engine burns oil and has a ton of mileage
"1:27 What a bad design. I'm certain that not all the oil comes out. The oil pan should slope down and the bolt should point down" I don't blame ya much for being thorough about changing engine oil. Some people just let it drain until only it drips around 2 or 3 drips per second ( not enough drained for me) But, back on point, how to account for the "bad design" some? Simple. Before draining that oil, run the bike for a few minutes and get that oil at the normal temps, see if you can park the bike to where the rear tire is blocked from being able to move and that the front end is raised up..like on a car tire ramp or something like that but just enough to where you still have room to physically access the oil filter AND drain plug. Grab some good gloves ( rubber or nitrile) and just have good reflexes when getting that drain plug JUST at the very tip of being able to yank it away from the hole as the oil shoots out with that oil drain pan ready. Viola.

It's like asmr but with bikes!!
Perfect video. Straight to the point. Step by step. Show don't tell. You nailed it.
Already done it on mine 2.000 km ago! Keep it up with cb 500 f videos ;)
Is it possible for you to make a chain/slack alignment video? Could really use the video reference.
cool video man, thanks. I feel confident I can do my CB500F next oil change.
Is it 2 or 3 quarts of oil for our CB500F? I don't want to put too much in, 10w 30? Correct?
@@kraft837 2.7lts but I always put 3lts in and it takes it no problems
So calming and chill 😌

What's that tool called that you used to remove the front filter?
Called a belt wrench
No words, but so good and understandable. 👍🏍️
Many thanks!
Where did you get those rim decals? I am looking all over the place for them!!
Good vid. Calming. Without obnoxious dub step trash music.
I put motul 5000 10w 40 semi synthetic with a hi flow oil filter in mine as I like the slightly thicker oil..great video though!!!
What is the size of the wrench which fits the oil drain bolt?
12mm
May i know the size of oil filter and oil filter wrench you used in mm ?
Could you tell what is diameter of the bolt and the length of the screw thread?
How much oil does it take?
3.2L
Hello!
I have a cb500f from 2015!
Can u tell me with frequency you change your oil and filter?
Good Work and thank you!
Supposed to be every 5000klm
Just do it every 2 years.
Could you do one on coolant flush
Total 5w40 is ok ?
For CB500f 2013 (in belgium/France )
Any reccomendations on how to remove filter that appears to be sealed? To the extent it hasnt even budged, and its start to dent the current filter?
what?

Great tutorial. Thanks!
How much oil can i put? 2.6 litri?
That was so relaxing.
What stand is that?
Hello, when you start it up, does the oil level go down a bit?
Yes it does because some goes to the oil filter but it's only 200ml
Awesome video
Very good but oil fill the oil filter after setting

Is it bad to use engine oil with a greater operating range? I.e 5w40?

5w50 or 10w50 or 5w40 or 10w40 is fine for this bike.
When u put the filter back if u wrench on it then next time u will cant put it out...
Where did you get that Filter wrench?!
Bakery ha ha

A question : are you italian?
Nope, I'm Hungarian. 😊
Zsinor Motors ah ok just asking. Do you know if you can put a harder front fork for better handling in twinsties?
I don't know :(
Zsinor Motors ok thanks maybe i will swap the forks in the future with some fireblade forks hahah.
Öl sah doch noch gut aus 😂🤙🏼
Darum kippt er es ja auch aufs Pflaster. ;-)
