IF I ever ran into him like that kid I'd just thank him for all he's done, and tell him how much I love his work, and would wish him well with the rest of his day. I wouldn't want to bother him he's an older man, and just recently lost his wife. He needs our love, and support not to be hounded by paparazzi!

He knew the fan was for real. He was willing to stop and pose for a selfie. A true fan would be happy just with that. Mark Hamill is the same way. He knows that real fans would be just happy getting a photo because unlike autographs, there's no monetary value in a selfie.

TheStgmp44 You’ve got it wrong, you have it a little bit offset. All these celebrities who are “bash and rude” are average people who get annoyed when everyone is jumping in their face. On the other hand, Stan Lee just happens to be extra humble, extra patient, and extra cool.
If you *truly* enjoy people jumping at you constantly it can be two reasons. (1) you have an interesting career and you take a liking to when others share these interests, or (2) you’re an ego maniac (more likely).
He was born in the roaring twenties, of course Stan is gonna be a real gentleman.

Just shows how appreciated real fans are by him. They don't request autographs just a photo for a fan. The people who requested the auto's in this situation would have just re-sold the item or autograph as soon as they got home on ebay

Think mainly because he was the only one that wasn't using Stan for money. One guy wanted him to sign something that he would later sell for a high price and another one wanted to interview him. Meanwhile the last guy just wanted a picture with Stan. That picture would have zero value on a auction but a near priceless sentimental value to the fan. Stan has always loved true fans.

It's this reason I will never buy overpriced autographed memorabilia, no matter how much I love said person. The autograph, to me, is a token that you actually met this person and it's moment in memory that was hopefully a good experience. I think buying it from autograph hawkers is a soulless experience. I'm not knocking these autograph hawkers themselves-- if they can find people willing to pay that kind of money, whatever.
yeah i was lucky enough to get his autograph it was 3 yrs ago february 2016 at frank and sons my dad bought this big spiderman posteri i will never sell iti got to thank him as well myonly regret is not getting a pic with him though knowing that he signed my poster is good enough

BroadStreetBully24 He co created those characters with artists like, Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. He did not create them on his own. Most people fail to realise this. He just always takes the credit. Steve Ditko came up with the look and design of Spiderman. Lee is a writer and editor. He came up with concepts, but a lot of times the artist were creating the iconic looks of the characters. Jack Kirby was just as important as Lee in creating the Marvel universe and doesn't get credit most of the time. Most people that don't know anything about comics and it's history, over look these important creators.
+Shogun Warrior I am an artists and I will never take away the importance of artists ability, Kirby and Ditko have big names in the comic universe, even as I grew up looking at their work and it greatly inspiring me. Lee does have a big name as he took a big role into bringing many of these characters to life. As an artist I also understand the importance of original thought and concept: everything falls into place after that. Either way, none of these guys have a major stake in the percentage of these profit of these blockbusters and their incredible wealth they generate worldwide that they are solely responsible for, they are treated simply as former employees who own nothing they may have created.
