    I think Boeing is under the most pressure with the max 10. Because everyone knows about how the max planes had to be grounded in the United States after the 2 accidents. If the Max 10 receives delays or the max 10 has an unfortunate accident that involves the plane itself and not crew error, Boeing is going to be in a real world of hurt. It surprises me still that delta decided to go with the max 10 instead of Airbus because Delta has been more gearing towards airbus more for its widebody planes than Boeing. But if something happens to the max 10, I could easily see Delta going to airbus and switching the order for more neo planes instead

    • @nickolliver3021

      Boeing won't be in much hurt. People are still acting like it's 2021/20. It's not. We should have moved on from this. Delta should not see anything bad happen to the max 10. Certification is going well and is still slated for next year. They may not go for more neos but would be good if they had more of the 10 and 321neo.

    I am the machinist who machined the fuselage turning fixture for the 777 when I worked for Brown and Brown machine shop. I also machined the fixture for the wings. I took particular care when doing these parts to make them an order of magnitude closer tolerance than the design specified. I applied some additional techniques to make them the best that could be made. I can't be sure what my contribution to the history of the 777 was but it does have a remarkable history notably its fuselage length, its sales record, and particularly its safety record. Longest fuselage. Most popular model plane ever made. 2200 sold, 1600 delivered. With all those planes flying 27 years without a mass fatality crash. (except for one at 19 years shot down by the Russians which don't count). Current world record holder by 17 years over the Airbus A-380. An order of magnitude longer than the 707 at 2 1/2 years to its first crash, 2 1/2 years to the first crash of the De Haviland Comet, 4 years for the 747, 8 years for the DC 10, and 8 months for the Lockheed L-1011.

    Just flew in the UA 787-10 for the first time. That is a lovely ride we were in the 767 for the flight there. All of the noises and little annoyances in the older designs are gone. I still for the life of me don’t understand why electronically dimming windows and bleed free tech isn’t industry standard on all new passenger jets.

    • @mrvwbug4423
      @mrvwbug4423 Рік тому

      Mainly because the 787 is basically the newest aircraft on the market in terms of new types, The A350 was of course developed around the same time but Airbus opted to stick with more tried and tested tech, likely spurred by the early teething pains of the 787. The MAX, and all the NEOs are updates of existing designs, so massive changes like dimming glass and bleedless would make it much harder and more expensive to get them certified, and delay production

    Talking about the Indian Market. Most people still prefer Gulf Carriers over IndiGo because not everyone is broke nobody wants to be snuck in a seat with below average legroom. Indigo doesn't offer that much routes to the west either. But Emirates and Qatar does. Not placing orders doesn't mean they will fail. Riyadh Air is still not launched and Air India will take atleast 2 or more years to totally change.

    If you have to bend over that heavily to fabricate a "loose" for Airbus, I'd say all is well in Europe :D And no, I am not a fan of the 10 abreast setup at all. But I think it has nothing to do with Airbus. It rather is up to us consumers to let the carriers know how we feel about those. Prices are too high right now anyways and before long, carriers will notice.
    Concerning the 777X - yeah, well, the obvious widebody in the room (muharharhar) is the fact that with a Boing airliner these days, you never know when or if it will actually come. And chances are, that it won't fit the business model when it arrives. Carriers moved away from jumbos for a reason. Reusing them in a pinch, ok that simply is common sense. Investing in a fleet of new ones...that would be unwise. Honstly, I have no idea what Boeing was thinking with this plane. Then again, I do not understand most of what they do nowadays.

    I hope Planespotters start making the distinction between NPS A350s vs non-NPS, similar to how they differentiate ACF A321NEOs as A321-2..NX, whereas A321NEOs with the classic door config don't have the NX suffix

    as a boeing fan i didn't have issue if boeing took all the L from this show. its just a business, why we need to care too much about that? 😅
    but i thought 777X took 10 orders from Air India, or did i miss something?
    Edit: yeah i missed something. Air India deal is announced back in february 2023. Further announcement in this show maybe just for "finalization".

      @@mikelliteras397 It's not about power or even transportation, it is about money and competition. Boeing made the gamble and the pitch to move away from large aircraft at the time its counterparts was investing deeply in it. They promoted a commercial aviation system of more smaller aircraft. As always, interesting comparisons. I became a million miler on American 15 years ago. One thing I always noticed was that the Airbus planes would rattle more than Boeing on take off and landing. The other one was that Airbus did not have as good of cabin pressure. American screwed me over trying to zonk me for $3000 to change my date of travel due to emergency eye surgery in Rio. The doc did not explain to me about a bubble inserted in my eye, which had it popped mid-air would have had me screaming and the plane being forced to land. That came from my American doc. My cornea had ripped and my iris was tearing and leaking out of my eye. I still have many AAdvantage miles to spend but have absolutely no loyalty whatsoever to AA.
