now we need the other titan MIKE PATTON to be inducted or at least his band FAITH NO MORE. both are very influnintal to the rock and metal world. the only singer and band i can think of that's i have a lot of respect for in terms of creativity is Trent Reznor, besides Mike Patton, Trent Rez is very creative and independent.
This is 1989 man so revolutionary this whole album was done completely by him and It’s all badass from start to finish!!! Listen to Something I can never have!!
That’s how Prince got started too. He did everything himself, all the instruments and overlayed his own voice to sound like different signers. Then when he wanted to play live he needed a band. It’s honestly mind blowing there are people so talented
The way you described what you thought to song was about was exactly what I took from it too. Money OVERPOWERS people. I heard this song many many many years ago. Trent reznor was actually a pioneer when it came to using computer to make music and making all the crazy noises and beats. Computers were fairly new
They're so good and versatile, I'm always happy seeing people venture outside of Closer. Even when it's an ok song, there's so many better ones from them.
This was so cool when it came out.It was a new sound.Did lots of dancing to this.It is a deep song ya'll are exactly right. It kind of put me in a trance at first too.
Check out _Something I Can Never Have_ from the same album, it's hauntingly beautiful. Pretty Hate Machine is easily one of the great debut rock albums. NIN sonically progresses with each subsequent album up until this day, still putting out bomb-ass albums!! Trent is a genius and a GOAT producer, always keeping up with new recording technology
Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails (He IS NIN...) have always been on the cutting edge of music tech... This was their first album 'Pretty hate machine' in 1989, and people hated that record when it came out! But Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses became a fan - he even had NIN open for Guns (It was a disaster. Their GNR fans hated them)... But MTV started airing their music video in 1990/ '91... 'Head like a hole' and 'Down in it' got airplay and pushed the record's sales. It was in 1992 when NIN released the 'Broken' EP and it went into the US top 10 & sold 1 million copies... NIN returned in 1994 w/ a full album 'The downward spiral' and the single 'Closer' pushed the record to 4 million copies sold in the US. NIN performed a memorable set in the Woodstock '94 festival, where they took the stage covered in mud.
NIN is Trent Reznor. He has people play live shows with him but he writes and records all his own music. Everything on the albums is 100% Trent and when he does shows the people he brings to play are just playing what he already wrote and played for the album. The man is a musical genius with so much talent! Some songs to check out: Something I Can Never Have, Hurt, Piggy, The Perfect Drug, Eraser, Ringfinger, and last but not least Starfuckers, Inc.
My girlfriend and I used to cruise Hollywood Blvd back in the early 90s blasting NIN and Ministry. There was also a Laserium show at the Griffith Observatory featuring all NIN music. All of that seems like so long ago 😀
I was all over LA and the Valley in my red and white slammed 63 corner window VW bus, pounding "Pretty Hate Machine", the Original release of Body Count's "Body Count", L7 "Monster" and "Smell the Magic", RHCP's "Blood Sugar Sex Magic", Various Concrete Blonde CDs. For years the Lasarium featured Pink Floyd.
Pretty Hate Machine aka Halo 2 was recorded in secret while he was working as a janitor at Right tracks studio in Cleveland, Oh. Everything you hear on the album is him. Later when he began live performances and video, he hired others to play. One of those was Rich Patrick who would later form and lead the group Filter and is also the younger brother of actor Robert Patrick of The Terminator 2 fame (the cop). As far as Trent goes, he has produced so many things both albums and movie soundtracks. His ear for sounds is just genius. Another track to check out would be "Wish" from his follow up EP Broken.
If it any comfort to you both about the monkey from the Closer video, there was behind the scenes footage of the video shoot and the monkey was having fun and well taken care of. As for NIN songs, I recommend Hand That Feeds, We're in This Together, Deep, Terrible Lie, and Sanctified. Also, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross produced the album Halsey released last year and that album is definitely worth a listen. Trent also did a song with HEALTH called Doesn't Everyone and that song really puts you in a trance.
Early '89 or late '88 I was looking for something else, thinking NiN was the name of the song by another band. I bought the CD single of this with like 4 versions of it, and Ring Finger as well. I think I paid like $3 bucks for it. This was a few months before "Pretty Hate Machine" was released. Changed my life musically. I wound up with 3 "Pretty Hate Machine" Cd's. Two for the cartridges for my CD player in my 63 VW bus, and one for the house
Some of my favorite NIN songs are "The Fragile", "The Wretched" and "We're In This Together Now". NIN isn't for everyone so I'm glad you're liking them so far. Also, if the videos are distracting you from catching the lyrics or meaning of the song... React to the lyric videos instead, at least they won't get blocked.
Same here. I accidentally bought a CD single with 4 versions of "Head Like A Hole" and 1 version of "Ring Finger", a few months before "Pretty Hate Machine" was released. A very fortunate accident that was. Almost providence LoL.
Nine inch nails is a awesome band head like a hole Côme from they first album 1989. So much before its time. Many great songs to react hope see more nin on your channel. Congrats for the 100 000 subs!
The thing I love about Trent, is how he was influenced by British new wave bands and one artist was Gary Numan. Now when you hear Numan's shows live, Gary has been definitely influenced by NIN and Trent. Case of an apprentice teaching a master who was once the influencer. Gary Numan's music now sounds so much more grittier than the earlier Numan/Tubeway Army era....
I love the head nod. And you nailed it on the hypno vibes. No pun intended. My brother and I always love wish by them and a whole heap of songs by them like March of the pigs and hurt. But I've always love this one most.
That's some reallyyyy Old school NIN! The fragile double album was always my favorite NIN album.... Classic with songs like "fragile" ; "big comedown" and "the day the world went away". But my all time favorite nails song is definitely "piggy" from the downward spiral album. I think you all would totally dig "the fragile" song and "piggy" fosure!
As mentioned "Something I Can Never Have" and "Hurt" are definitely worth checking out for a totally different NIN vibe! Check out "Wish" for a full on assault!
Use to Cruz the streets back in the day to NIN love it. If ya like this sound I’m quite sure you would dig the band Ministry the song is thieves and liars.
NiN is hard to get into, its a whole new genre... Perfect or hurt are probably the ones id recommend to beginners. Try "Hurt" (LIVE: Beside You In Time) , its another level seeing it live but that shows a different side of NiN!
You guys need to listen to Wish, Last, The Hand that Feeds,You are the Perfect Drug, just to name a few NIN songs. Every album is a new experience, a slightly different sound then the last album. If you have not listened to Hurt, you should listen to the NIN version first. Then listen to the Johnny Cash version.
ALWAYS DO LIVE VERSIONS IF YOU CSN TEUST ME !! I’ve seen nailz live 6 times huge fan but there live stuff is soo bad ass and better than the studio iys hard to explain plus the concert visuals are ugh
I think Trent made this song as a comment on the corporate record company structure where you give control of your art to mindless executives that only care about corporate profits.
Yo you guys should react to Les Twins. They're the best dancers in the world and have been dancing across the world for decades. I know it would be perfect content for your channel.
The line is often misinterpreted as "God Money" or "[the] God [named] Money [is]", while it can also be understood as "God! Money is not concerned!" if the perspective is of the speaker addressing god. "Money's not concerned" and "Money lets us" both work in this context. Contemplate then observe the rotational reintegration of the eye that most miss without frame stepping.
I’m not entirely sure but I think the songs about how the church doesn’t give back to the community. It’s suppose to help people but “God money ain’t looking for the cure.”
Imagine coming to a reaction channel for the first time and watching this video. One of the most iconic songs of the 90s and this chick is hardly moving. I think I saw an eyebrow raise at one point. Jesus. Find someone who appreciates music to be your sidekick homie. This chick wouldn't know good music if it slapped her in the face. "Reaction" channels normally include actual reactions.
I was so happy when Trent was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He sooo deserved it!
We missed out on seeing him play there with Depeche modes Alan Wilder
now we need the other titan MIKE PATTON to be inducted or at least his band FAITH NO MORE. both are very influnintal to the rock and metal world. the only singer and band i can think of that's i have a lot of respect for in terms of creativity is Trent Reznor, besides Mike Patton, Trent Rez is very creative and independent.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a load of old shit. Lemmy's not in there, they're a joke.
It’s honestly mind blowing there are people so talented
every song on Nine Inch Nails - "Pretty Hate Machine" is awesome!!!
We danced to this in the clubs back in the day! The genre was Industrial and it served the more hardcore who liked to dance. 😁❤️
That we did .
they played a club on 6th st in 89 90 where kids were jumping off the balcony onto the crowd below was wild night
Ohhhh yesssss we did lol 🖤
This entire first album, Pretty Hate Machine, is amazing. Check out Kinda I Want To, Sanctified, Down In It, and The Only Time.
... no love for 'Something I Can Never Have'? IMHO one of the best songs Trent ever wrote, but that's just me...
Vespoint.. I concurr.
great first album for sure but... extremely dated... not timeless singular transcendent genius like everything else NIN ever did since then.
The way you described what you thought to song was about was exactly what I took from it too. Money OVERPOWERS people.
I heard this song many many many years ago. Trent reznor was actually a pioneer when it came to using computer to make music and making all the crazy noises and beats. Computers were fairly new
0ne of my faves since 1990,this was his second single that I know of after Down In It. 🏴
They're so good and versatile, I'm always happy seeing people venture outside of Closer. Even when it's an ok song, there's so many better ones from them.
Tbh that whole album is great but people only know that song. It's kinda sad
I’m so sick of everyone only reacting to Closer.
I think people recommend it for the shock value.
This was so cool when it came out.It was a new sound.Did lots of dancing to this.It is a deep song ya'll are exactly right. It kind of put me in a trance at first too.

Trent Reznor is just a Tony away from EGOT status. Recent tied Grammy winner for the Soul soundtrack a few days ago.
Oooohhhh... I totally missed that he won an Emmy for Watchmen (totally deserved, for anyone who's seen the series)
Memories of going to the club and the girls in cages dancing to this. The 90s were so full of beautiful perversions.
Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails (He IS NIN...) have always been on the cutting edge of music tech... Definitely a “musical genius” 👏🏽

Cheers to fellow Ministry appreciator

Skinny Puppy - Hardset Head. Music that was used at Guantánamo…
Nine Inch Nails - The Hand that feeds
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Thank me later!
Haha it’s alright compared to their other stuff.
Trent, the man that gave us the song "Hurt".............I like both versions, NIN and Johnny Cash
This shit blew my mind in early high school, I heard it on a demo tape that my friend got from his cousin in Florida.
I saw them live in the early 90's, it was so amazing! The whole Pretty Hate Machine album is fire 🔥
Now Trent is grown middle aged man who owns Beats with Dre and Jimmy.
Something I can never have, wish, hurt , March of the pigs, reptile...... all great tunes by these guys
If it any comfort to you both about the monkey from the Closer video, there was behind the scenes footage of the video shoot and the monkey was having fun and well taken care of. Saw them in concert when " Closer " came out . Marlyn Manson was their opening act ( before they hit it big ). Great concert .
I saw that one too! Oh the 90s✨
Early '89 or late '88 I was looking for something else, thinking NiN was the name of the song by another band. I bought the CD single of this with like 4 versions of it, and Ring Finger as well. My favorite Album is Broken
@@Ciph3rN1N3 I’m only familiar with a couple of songs off that album, I need to check it out.
Check out "Gave Up" and "Perfect Drug".
Mmmmm..... the mash pits. Miss those days. He's a damned genius that allows anyone his music
YES, the one with the monkey!! I read the money was well trained, and paid more than some of the crew!! Great reaction!!
🤘🤘 This was the song that drew me into NiN when it came out!!! 😉❤✌
Same here. I accidentally bought a CD single with 4 versions of "Head Like A Hole" and 1 version of "Ring Finger", a few months before "Pretty Hate Machine" was released. A very fortunate accident that was. Almost providence LoL.
The production alone always drew me in to a lot of their music. Great album over all!
One of my favorite artist of all time, definitely influential to my music making.
Nine inch nails is a awesome band head like a hole Côme from they first album 1989. So much before its time. Many great songs to react hope see more nin on your channel.
Congrats for the 100 000 subs!
Something I can never have is my favorite, but this whole album is 🔥
PLEASE go down this rabbit hole. I've seen them live like 6 times. Always amazing.
This was the bands first music video. Trent Reznor was very young here.
Please react to the official video for
Nine Inch Nails - “Wish”
The thing I love about Trent, is how he was influenced by British new wave bands and one artist was Gary Numan. Now when you hear Numan's shows live, Gary has been definitely influenced by NIN and Trent. Case of an apprentice teaching a master who was once the influencer. Another song to check out, by NIN is "the Hand that Feeds". You'll dig the sound.
I love the head nod. And you nailed it on the hypno vibes. No pun intended.
My brother and I always love wish by them and a whole heap of songs by them like March of the pigs and hurt. But I've always love this one most.
Great song from the late 90s early 2000s in the introduction of the Industrial music scene.
Fragile is my favorite such a great album!
This is something that you should pay attention to. Real Talk.
Trent Reznor (lead vocals) is a music genius. He does a lot of solo stuff that is 🔥. I’ve been a NIN fan since the late 90s.
This lead singer (Trent Reznor) is the one that wrote Hurt, the cover that Johnny Cash did if you haven't listened to that yet. Very moving
Ruined So Many Fishnets Cage Dancing To This, Totally Worth It🔥❤️🔥❤️
I really enjoyed the album where this song was released
Closer 🔥🔥
Nine Inch Nails is the Godfather of Industrial Metal
Perfect Album 🖤
As mentioned "Something I Can Never Have" and "Hurt" are definitely worth checking out for a totally different NIN vibe! Check out "Wish" for a full on assault!
If you want to listen to a banger that also has a awesome video, check out Only by Nine Inch Nails! You won't regret it!
Use to Cruz the streets back in the day to NIN love it. If ya like this sound I’m quite sure you would dig the band Ministry the song is thieves and liars.
Early Industrial. Lots of other bands in the genre to check out, like Ministry
Classic from my youth. Industrial Music. Try band Ministry, song/video Stigmata. Ministry fathers of industrial music
Miley Cyrus did a opop version of this song, you can find online, for the show Black Mirrow
More Nine Inch Nails! 🔥❤️
B.B. King, champagne and refer
NiN is hard to get into, its a whole new genre... Perfect or hurt are probably the ones id recommend to beginners. Try "Hurt" (LIVE: Beside You In Time) , its another level seeing it live but that shows a different side of NiN!
You guys should check out "Wish", "The Perfect Drug" "Only" and "Gave Up"
Hell yeah love this song
I remember destroying my voice for 2 days doing this in karaoke. Love this song!
Bow down to what you serve. Is it money? Youll get what you deserve.
Like Nine in Nails,, they are like Ministry , which surfaced on 85,, So NIN is definitely Ministry 2.0.
Trent is a genius period
March Of The Pigs!!!!! All I can say
Off of one of my favorite albums ever, Pretty Hate Machine! 👍
Great reaction as always guys! Keep up the awesome work!!
YESSS 🤘🏼
Please do more NIN
You guys need to listen to Wish, Last, The Hand that Feeds,You are the Perfect Drug, just to name a few NIN songs. Every album is a new experience, a slightly different sound then the last album. If you have not listened to Hurt, you should listen to the NIN version first. Then listen to the Johnny Cash version.
The best band!
ALWAYS DO LIVE VERSIONS IF YOU CSN TEUST ME !! I’ve seen nailz live 6 times huge fan but there live stuff is soo bad ass and better than the studio iys hard to explain plus the concert visuals are ugh
Some of NiN relatively new stuff is fantastic in addition to older stuff like this.
Copy of A
All Time Low
Everything
Copy of A for sure, and I’d recommend a live version.
There duet with health tho 🖤🖤🖤 "isn't everything"
We need a NEW NIN album! I hope it comes soon.
Don't know if you all know this or not, but it was Trent Reznor who signed Marilyn Manson to his record label~!
The message is not selling your integrity for money or someone. We see and act like money is god and our OWNERS want that.
90’s dance club hit. NIN lyrics are detailed though…
You should do “Hurt” and “The Day the World Went Away” (any version or all 👀) by them.
hit Ministry next
I think Trent made this song as a comment on the corporate record company structure where you give control of your art to mindless executives that only care about corporate profits.
Yo. Jay-Z is BACK! l.o.l. Loved the reaction you two had.
Named my youngest son Trent so you know this cool 😎 already.
Yo you guys should react to Les Twins. They're the best dancers in the world and have been dancing across the world for decades. I know it would be perfect content for your channel.
They are mesmerizing.
Great reaction! Pls check out their official video for “ The Perfect Drug”!

So good. Try broken album

Let her talk, know what I'm saying
You look like a bully, fkr
Never listen to these guys, but if your moving to it then I guess it's o.k. 👍👍.
Good one!
I'm related to Trent reznor believe it or not
react to Microphone by Slaughterhouse
He looks like a young Jay-Z.
👋🏻♥️
Trent sorta discovered Marilyn Manson. Then they had a big fallout but yeah..
