Was listening to this while working out and not really paying attention to what OD was being used. The one that impacted the sound the most to my ear was the ODD. I actually jumped over to my phone to see what pedal it was. Idk why, but it seemed to give the tone so much more bite. Great video Kyle!
I would love to see a few more of these type of videos shooting out multiple pedals on amps. It might be helpful to have a quicker A/B comparison with and without for reference on each pedal, but I can click back and forth with the bookmarks too. Great stuff man!
I know exactly why I have my dirty Tree. Great video. I would love to see those kind of shootout with amps with their very unique gain structure. For example a Diezel etc.
I am happy i finally see dirty tree pedal on the channel 😊 such an amazing pedal. But in any case all pedals do the trick imho. All are better than nothing.😂
Not primarily a Metal player but love your gear reviews. As for od pedals, maybe a Wampler Tumnus? I have the mini one, one of my favorites. I recently picked up a Nux Steel Singer, kind of different from my TS and Tumnus.
Great video Kyle, give the Rock Box boiling point a try also the Toni Iommi treble booster by Laney also would be a couple I would try , but I loved the Angry Tree through that amp.
It is really hard for me saying what overdrive I liked better. There are just small tweaks one way or another somewhere in the frequencies that need to be done to my ears. Like an annoying itch I just can't scratch.
Adding a little OD to a bass would definitely tighten it up and make it punchier i would think a little distortion on the bass does wonders to making a mix sound badass
My MT-100 is actually very quiet, even with the gain at Noon and a Screamer on. I was expecting the hum to be a lot worse, but it’s not terribly noticeable.
@@systematic11 I watched several review videos, and all of the reviewers said the amp was noisy. You could clearly hear the hum. Maybe you got a good one.
@@TheCyberMantis yeah. It seems a bit inconsistent in that regard. Tone is consistent. Noise is a bit inconsistent. I do have a gate running, because I always have one on. But mine definitely doesn’t have that much sass. I’ve seen a couple people say theirs is silent. Weird deal.
Everyone who says high gain amps don’t need overdrive thinks the pedal is just to push the amp. I blame the term overdrive for being misleading. They should call them tightener pedals
The overdrive pedals aren't for extra gain. I'm not sure why people still think this. It changes and tightens the sound in a particular way. It's a sound you hear all the time on records. It's pretty standard fair.

The king in yellow was the winner for me… I love using it, so versatile
My fave too 🏆
Man, just wanted to say I'm so happy to see the growth of this channel. Content is all killer and no filler. Keep it up my guy 🙏💯
1. Lichtlaerm
2. Maxon OD 808x
3. ODD Warm Audio

Are you going to do a full breakdown of the Bogner Uberschall Ultra?
Walrus ages was my favorite
same here
Yellow and Duality are so damn good. Duality probably the winner for me
My favorite was the Warm ODD. Peppers Dirty Tree on the 2nd setting was good too. My personal od is the maxon od808.
With or without OD, you gotta put a patent on that riff, so good, can't get enough! :)
I know exactly why I have my dirty Tree.
Great video. I would love to see those kind of shootout with amps with their very unique gain structure. For example a Diezel etc.
I'd love if you try something like Ola Englund "in the room" series
the little single slot pedal board to hold the pedal is adorable
My personal favs were the waza SD1 and Warm ODD and I'll add the King of Yellow for sure.
This type of video is very cool Kyle answers a lot of questions on what works thanks man.🎸🤘😈
Fortin Tempest and Hexdrive just love the 2 pedal in my collection

Lichtlaerm and Deadweald for me but I'm biased. Also liked the OD808X a lot
Great video Kyle, give the Rock Box boiling point a try also the Toni Iommi treble booster by Laney also would be a couple I would try , but I loved the Angry Tree through that amp.
Digging the Deadweald. Also keep that beard bro 👊
The real question is, which pedals did you like best?
For me, the Waza, Plumes, Duality, and Dirty Tree stood out the most.
Lots of great options here. I have been having a lot of fun with the MXR Badass Modified OD recently. Sounds great here too.
I just ordered one of these to put in front of my MT100. Can’t wait for it to get here.
I have about 5 of the overdrives you tested. I think I liked the mxr m77.
Love that intro, haha
Edit: Dirty Tree all day, followed by the King in Yellow and the Duality. Honorable mention to that OD808X though.
It is really hard for me saying what overdrive I liked better. There are just small tweaks one way or another somewhere in the frequencies that need to be done to my ears. Like an annoying itch I just can't scratch.
I had never heard the MXR GT-OD but I think that sounds great
Is this the crunch or the red channel ??
Great comparison Kyle! Hope all is well 💯 ✌🏼
Hey Kyle great channel !! Wanted to ask what OD or Boost do you like for the Soldano SLO-100 ? Keep up the great work !!
I have a Maxon 808, ODD, Revv G3 purple and Tumnus and the Dirty Tree
Awesome shirt Kyle 🤙🤙
Nerdery! Yes!
I liked that joyo lol doe didn’t expect that one.
Apparently everything needs an overdrive iv been playin bass for years an just figured out it sounds better with an overdrive
Adding a little OD to a bass would definitely tighten it up and make it punchier i would think a little distortion on the bass does wonders to making a mix sound badass
The best pedal for the MT-100 is a: NOISE GATE. 😆

I literally said shut up stupid in my head before you did!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
OD808X and Green Rhino for me.
For me, the MT100 sounds best without a boost.
Everyone who says high gain amps don’t need overdrive thinks the pedal is just to push the amp. I blame the term overdrive for being misleading. They should call them tightener pedals
H2O, nice shirt.
Mxr gt od for me
Green Rhino
Nice
lol like the MT100 needed an overdrive...
For me, it does. You do you.

@@kylebull2he does a lot, his hand is tired by now 😂😂😂
That head sounds awful on its own.
They all sound the same. Period.
